A United Nations survey of 75,000 people across 77 countries indicates that 80% of the global population wants stronger government action to address the climate crisis. The report links human-induced warming from fossil fuels to recent lethal heat waves in Europe, Asia, and the United States. Significant fatalities were reported during the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, where temperatures reached 52 degrees Celsius.
