Aircraft Grounding, Hydrant Pressure Failure in Altadena
By Tuesday evening of the LA fires, all firefighting aircraft were grounded due to dangerous wind conditions, leaving ground crews without aerial support. Communications from the Eaton Fire near Altadena showed that hydrants were going dry by early Wednesday morning, catching first responders by surprise. The loss of water pressure forced crews to perform triage, choosing which homes to attempt to save with limited resources.
