Tennessee Valley Authority Layoffs, CEO Salary Controversy
President Trump announced the firing of the Chairman of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) board after learning the utility was laying off American tech workers and forcing them to train lower-cost foreign replacements. Trump criticized the TVA CEO's $8 million annual salary, the highest in the federal government. Following the President's intervention, the TVA reversed course and cancelled all planned layoffs.
