About this episode

The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards hit a record-low audience of 10.2 million viewers as producer Lorne Michaels faced criticism for a politically charged 'In Memoriam' segment. While the broadcast at the Microsoft Theater featured a live marriage proposal from director Glenn Weiss, the inclusion of John McCain over literary figures like Tom Wolfe signaled a shift toward identity politics that alienated a tenth of the traditional audience.

In the wake of sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Senator Mazie Hirono and former Senator Barbara Boxer have intensified calls for a full FBI background check. Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry presented new evidence regarding the 2014 downing of flight MH17, claiming rocket 'passports' prove the Buk missile belonged to the Ukrainian army. This challenge to the Joint Investigative Team report coincides with Linus Torvalds stepping away from Linux leadership and Cody Wilson facing legal charges in Austin, Texas.

Adam Curry reports from Dench Music Studios in the Netherlands, where Dutch singer Glenis Grace has become a national sensation following her America's Got Talent run. The local landscape is currently defined by extreme bicycle congestion and the launch of the Punkt MPO2 minimalist phone. This episode also features a tribute to the 'F-cancer' campaign and a knighting ceremony for Sir Gene Witch.

CHAPTER 02 / 45 Discussion

Family Health Update, F-Cancer Campaign

A family health emergency involving Tina Curry's sister has altered the hosts' travel plans, necessitating Tina's return to the Chicago area. A call for "F-cancer" karma is issued to support the family during this illness. This situation led to the cancellation of a planned visit to the Hadron Collider.

tina curry· chicago· cancer· karma· family emergency

01:28 Oh no! Hold on, it's actually not funny. One of Tina's sisters is quite ill. Tina has flown back to the Chicago area to be with her and with her family So that kind of changed a lot of things In fact if you don't mind I'd just like to do off the top an F cancer You've got karma I'm told that stuff does work so...I don't want to leave any stone unturned So yeah, so that's you know sadly it kind of changed everything and so I'm here And I go back to the Hadron Collider. No didn't get to the Hadron Collider no That's good for another time but we did have a nice train trip from Zurich to Wait no from Luzerne to Zurich and then we flew from Zurich to Amsterdam and in another interesting train ride The Train is kind of convenient

CHAPTER 03 / 45 Discussion

European Train Systems, Digital Ticketing Critique

Observations on the Swiss and Dutch rail systems highlight the redundancy of human conductors scanning digital QR codes on smartphones. The process of downloading specific apps to display PDF tickets is criticized as inefficient compared to automated kiosks. The discussion touches on the persistence of labor unions in government-run European transit.

zurich· switzerland· train travel· qr codes· digital tickets· conductors

02:28 Well, it's because the places are close to each other and there is lots of trains. Yeah and just kind of works. There is no drunk people. Maybe I've been on the wrong train but something that was kind of... It just struck me as odd. If I'm seeing it the wrong way, but you know you order your train tickets online Which is pretty simple to do and then they do force you this would be Tina in this case to download an app if You can't print it out. You're dying You have to download their app And then you have to import your tickets into their app which is pretty much showing a PDF on Their app which I think just probably could've just shown a PDF well you have a QR code and so when the conductor comes by to check your ticket It just seems so

03:14 I don't know if it seems odd to me that you're showing your QR code on, in this case the keeper's smartphone and the conductor is scanning the Q-code with his smartphone. Just seems like... isn't that meant for You know, people who have no relationship together whereas we already have a relationship because we purchase tickets and then you know We have the app and all that. Is it just me or is that...is is actually supermodel? Well, you confused me with whatever you just said Okay So instead of scanning like at the airport where you put your phone under scanner I don't do that but you can do that

03:50 Now you have the conductor, he's scanning with his... I don't know it was just like a weird air gap thing to me. Maybe i'm just seeing it the wrong way. Felt strange. Do you think that what would you propose as an alternative that would be more efficient and make more sense to you? Maybe we can get right on the train, just like a plane, you scan it, your done Why is this guy, why is the conductor still there? What's the point of him coming by and scanning the phone You know, I've always wondered that myself. I mean it's old...I remember old school because you still had conductors come by and click your ticket. Yeah yeah they come by and they click the tickets and they pop a hole in each one of them. And it was kind of cool like too good then they stick it in a little sticker thing at top of the seat with steel. It's been awhile since it worked that way! Yeah but there you know they can still do that in some Eastern European train systems

04:44 Yeah, I know they should have just a little kiosk at the right at the door and maybe only have like eight doors you can go in or six or five or two whatever. Or every door would make what differences it'd make? Well each one of those things cost money Oh okay That's probably government run and there's probably union for the conductors And i'm sure they liked their job he was guy was very friendly nothing wrong with that Nothing wrong with that Maybe its just a way to check Could be I learned a couple other things. Oh, got a lot of feedback on the bikers that we were seeing kind of these middle-aged guys little overweight and with all the garb on you know clearly they had their bikes flowing in or they rented them locally and They're all running around This is a big big bone of contention with there with people in Italy and Switzerland They really don't like him And they have a name for mammals

CHAPTER 04 / 45 Discussion

MAMILS, European Building Code Observations

Middle-aged men in lycra, referred to by the acronym MAMILS, are noted as a common sight and a point of contention for locals in Italy and Switzerland. Additionally, a peculiar building code in Switzerland where doors open inward is identified as a potential safety hazard and a contrast to American fire safety standards.

mamils· lycra· switzerland· building codes· safety regulations

05:38 which is mammals yeah and I call them mammals it's just not a reference an acronym MAMILS, an acronym for middle-aged men in lycra Wow mammals yes mammals something else i've noticed this was very unique to Switzerland hotels, stores anywhere you go the doors all open inward which I think is at this point a building code violation in the United States. Oh very few states allow it if you have that in California they'll give you a big ticket and make you fix it pretty quickly. It's really of course for Americans walking around you want to walk in somewhere you pull the door you know almost rip your arm out

06:25 But do Europeans, have they never had people die inside a venue where the crowd tried to get out and the door was pushing inward and not push outward? I guess. It makes no sense. What's the rationale for having it open inward except for maybe if you open it out where somebody walks into, which I mean that's the only... Yeah but a hotel. ...for safety reasons is the way to do… reason you don't understand it? Yeah but yeah. I noticed this myself by the way. And I was… It only kind of… I only kind of noticed in Switzerland. I don't know if it's an other European countries. I think I've noticed that much in The Netherlands and there are lot revolving doors. But I noticed in London when I was in London last year.

CHAPTER 05 / 45 Discussion

Glenis Grace, America's Got Talent Finals

Dutch singer Glenis Grace has become a major topic of national pride in the Netherlands following her advancement to the finals of America's Got Talent. Despite her established career in Holland, her participation in the American competition sparked significant local media coverage.

glenis grace· netherlands· america's got talent· dutch singer· national pride

07:08 Okay, so we We get to the Netherlands. The only thing the Netherlands can talk about right now in all the newspapers everywhere is Glenis Grace who didn't win the America's Got Talent I know you don't watch so fill you in there's a Dutch singer and Glenis grace is her name? And no her quite well than fact that I think she sang at one of our parties You know hundred years ago He's very good singer and I think maybe she wanted touch She's quite well known. You know, she has a career in Holland. Where is she from? She's from the Netherlands. Well then what does it got to do with America's Got Talent?! I know! But that's why it's so interesting So she's over there...I guess she has temporary residence and she got on the show and she got all the way to the finals And everyone here was like oh it's the Dutch girl making it to America's Got Talent As far as I know if she doesn't live there she might Thought she always lived here And uh...and she didn't get through but aw man this is you know The national pride

08:06 She got all the way to the finals. Yeah, that's fascinating mm-hmm I'm just saying that you know that's what everyone's talking about But here well I have not much better what we're talking about did watch the Emmys you? Have two more things to mention in my report and then I'd want definitely wanna hear about the Emmys no I want to hear but I went this European report to continue throughout the show but you can Load up if you want. I'll just give you the one on Amsterdam. I have not been to Amsterdam for, I mean really in the city and we went last night for some dinner for...I don't know maybe a little under a year

CHAPTER 06 / 45 Discussion

Amsterdam Bicycle Congestion, Urban Policy Failure

Amsterdam is currently overwhelmed by an excessive number of bicycles, leading to blocked sidewalks and bridges. The city's policy to prioritize bikes over cars has resulted in infrastructure saturation and safety issues involving inexperienced tourists. The hosts compare the current state of the city to high-density bicycle cultures in China.

amsterdam· bicycles· urban planning· traffic congestion· netherlands

08:49 I gotta tell you, there are too many bicycles in Amsterdam. It has now... and i'm not talking about people riding bikes that's bad as is There are so many bikes they're parked everywhere You can't walk on sidewalks you can cross a little island where if your crossing a two lane road or something Bikes everywhere! They've just been pumping bikes into the Dutch economy and they haven't gotten rid of any It's insane, I've never seen it like this. Everyone is talking about it and there are also dockless and dock-bikes...it's crazy! They have overinflated bicycles in Amsterdam

09:30 That's ridiculous. I mean, it is like China! This is supposed to be the country that has adapted to the bicycle culture and now what you're telling me... Is that It's not working? Here's what happened. I remember when there was this big push-I'm sure we talked about on the show We want to make Amsterdam, we want to make the city much more for pedestrians and bikes And we wanna kind of push the cars out So they flooded all the bicycle infrastructure More bikes, bikes, bikes Didn't really do much to stop the flow of cars because you know, you still need deliveries trucks need to get through Business has to be done. So now that no one can move You got bikes at the left of you bikes to the right of you bikes on the sidewalk bikes on the bridge Bikes and then the tourists who somehow think that I can bike like the Dutch but it's just kamikaze pilots

10:22 It's really, it's ruined. The city is ruined and I blame it on the policy of more bikes! It was too much. It has gone crazy. Take some pictures? Ah, I have some. Definitely. Just insane. I want to see pictures. Yeah yeah, we'll send them for you in the next newsletter. I will be back for the next Thursday show on Sunday The next Thursday. I got you, didn't I? So you'll be back on Sunday Yes, I will. Will you fly him back tonight or tomorrow? No Saturday because tomorrow i'm going to go see Christina who haven't seen yet Because everything kind of get pushed back at some other... I thought she's in Rotterdam She is in Rotterdam Yeah, I'l have taxi Eric drive me or something Oh they're gonna take a bike You know I am still here trying to exit this damn podcast

11:14 Trying to find an exit strategy. Just get on a bicycle, that's your exit strategy. Sure sure Are they just laying around you anyone can pick one up? No well I mean Bikes are stolen all the time But no people lock them but you can't even lock them to anything if it did lock it to a bridge or a light post Or yeah, where is he know? I mean It's a luxury because all those spots are just filled with bikes and I've never seen it this way ever and i've been in Amsterdam since I was you know seven yeah yes, I'll take pictures. Oh man, take pictures yes there goes a nine car zephyr yeah thank goodness late yes seven minutes late huh six minutes late yeah you should complain why? I'm not on it

CHAPTER 07 / 45 Discussion

70th Primetime Emmy Awards, Record Low Ratings

The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards, produced by Lorne Michaels, drew a record-low audience of 10.2 million viewers, an 11% decline. The broadcast is criticized for its lack of entertainment value and perceived focus on identity politics over merit. The opening monologue and musical numbers are described as lackluster and insulting to the audience.

emmy awards· lorne michaels· television ratings· diversity· nbc

12:10 Alright, so I watched the Emmys. Yes, I saw...I was fortunate enough to see the lame opening song and perhaps more insulting lamer monologue Well, the lame opening song that they obviously the guy producing it this area. Lorne Michaels right? Yeah he put the hammer down and said no political No Trump stuff that's we don't want to see any political or Trump stuff because that's what we do on Saturday night live I don't wanna see you guys stealing our material Right so instead just rag on white people men in particular

12:46 So there was a few, little bit of that. It wasn't that bad I thought the thing was pretty mild politically but i got annoyed by a couple of things Not politically John! I just thought it was insulting. Too many white people oh white people Oh yeah they were doing a lot of material about and the show is...I would say over represented by the black community Yeah, but not in the winner's circle. Too many black presenters including guys like a couple of guys it was all starting at live people It was ridiculous But not in the winner's circle there weren't too many black people what I could see seems like they lost Well whatever The point is that a couple of things that galled me They had I think four writers awards and except for the last one writing for a drama They never mentioned the names of the writers

13:36 Huh, even though it's a writing award. Yes they mentioned and they showed the name of the show, played a clip showed the name of this show no writers They didn't mention the writers They never said directed by him when I said directors They mentioned the guys named at the front he says so-and-so and so on so you know Zach Zachary You know direct in such and such put these guys names out there No for the writers that ever set anybody's name except to winner They had to mention his name because they had to come up front. Oh, really? I was gonna... Okay well that's kind of rude It was very rude it for the first three of the writers awards they never mentioned their rights The last one they did they named a writer at the beginning I found that to be outrageous and i'm surprised the writers put up with this crap where is the writers guild And then the other thing Wait wait stop how were the ratings

14:29 I didn't check the ratings. Nice report! It couldn't have been good, it was a terrible show. I'll check the rating... keep going! The entertainment was lame, the song at the beginning like you said was stupid And it was all, you know race race ratio right about that. Oh all time here we go The Emmy Awards drew a record low audience of just 10 point 2 million people down 11% over the past two years That makes sense is it was hard to watch it was not it was not entertaining Anyway and then they get to the dead people's section ah yes Yes We love the dead segment

CHAPTER 08 / 45 Discussion

Emmy Awards Snubs, John McCain Tribute

The Emmy Awards "In Memoriam" segment is criticized for including politician John McCain while allegedly snubbing prominent writers like Tom Wolfe. The inclusion of McCain is viewed as a political statement by producer Lorne Michaels. The segment also notes the lack of recognition for writers and directors during the award presentations themselves.

john mccain· tom wolfe· neil simon· in memoriam· emmys

15:08 They do the dead segment and they throw in John McCain into the Emmys, Degs- oh that's right! Yes I read people were really mad because they had John McCain in yet you know but then they didn't mention Mac you know some rapper who had never heard of buddy he... How about Tom Wolfe? Anybody. How about Tom Wolfe the writer He did a TV series in the 70s. He was a famous novelist, he did the electric Kool-Aid acid test, Bonfire of the Vanities, he's a famous writer on television all the time... No! He gets snubbed another writers snub I might add. Lauren Michaels i think just doesn't like writers

15:50 They're probably getting in the way, you know. They're not that...you know they're pain in the ass." I have no idea what it is but there's obviously this and I don't didn't see a lot of dead writers besides Tom Wolfe. I'm sure there's a lot of dead except for Neil Simon yeah duh! You can't leave him out but you know this other this was really I thought a snub to anyone who wrote for a living and in that business down there. Have you heard anyone else complain about this? Is anyone on Facebook talking about it I don't have Facebook so i have no idea. All I know is that I'm talking about it. Just asking! And so yeah, Tom Wolfe was left out but John McCain they threw him in what does he have to do with anything and are they going to put every dead politician? Politicians die a lot Yeah and really unfortunate ways sometimes too

16:42 And so what's the point of this? So I thought that was one of the messages, that was a political statement. That was Lorne's political statement and then he also when he had the nominations for best comedy actor they had apparently Baldwin got nominated for doing his Trump. Mm-hmm Oh, of course So they had a big giant picture of him doing Trump with that lips out And so that was I think something about political statement But the rest of it they kept if they kept it on the QT but that John McCain thing was like what? What was that all about well does he have an IMDB page oh

17:20 Let's take a look. I'm gonna take a look and see John McCain IMDB let me say well, I'm sure Tom Wolfe does too But he didn't get mentioned in Tom was more famous in Hollywood circles Oh hold on hold on. He of course he's been a guest on Saturday Night Live multiple times Lauren produced the show hello That's how we that's how he justifies it yes to writing credits for democracy and faith of my fathers. This is the low... I'm just saying, there's gotta be a million people that rank to that level should have been on the death list it's ridiculous John when you go i'm getting you on in The Dead segment yeah do it podcasters at the bottom You would come back and haunt me!

CHAPTER 09 / 45 Discussion

Microsoft Theater, Emmy Awards Marriage Proposal

Director Glenn Weiss proposed to his girlfriend Jan Svendsen on stage during the Emmy broadcast at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. While described as a sweet moment, the execution of the proposal is critiqued for being awkward. The segment also notes that the theater, formerly the Nokia Theatre, is now under Microsoft naming rights.

microsoft theater· los angeles· marriage proposal· glenn weiss· jan svendsen

18:17 Nice all right, that was it that was I didn't have much to report. That's the set was very boring mm-hmm Where was it? Was LA yeah? It was in L.A.. The Microsoft theater which I think is the old I don't think this not the Dolby because that still there as the old Kodak theater. I think hmm. I Think I don't know But it's, you know, it's an old this one of the older theaters and Microsoft bought the rights. And so is the Microsoft theater they've Microsoft never got mentioned throughout the show I mean wasn't even right It's just an old naming right? They have anything or naming rice. So was just lame. Yeah, if it was a really terrible They should not hire that guy to do the thing You know and then another political statement I thought

19:09 was giving, there's no reason for the special, the Emmy for best special of last year went to the Oscars. Oh man how incestuous is that? Well besides being incestuous that was a nod to De Niro! Oh, for his F Trump comment. His F Trump. So that made... what did they show that as the best segment of the show? No they didn't show that as this no we're gonna do that there was this is all subtle subtle nods well I mean that's your interpretation I'm just adding two and two. Why would they get the award? This show sucked! It had low ratings too, then also they had you know again they had the McCain thing and a picture of what's his name doing Trump...I mean come on And then i saw that guy proposed on stage Oh actually it was kind of sweet

20:05 Okay, I didn't see it. The guy says... the guy was kind of lame but it was kind of sweet because at least there was something different. The guy says my girlfriend's sitting here in the audience and I have to tell you this, I hate calling you my girlfriend, I'd rather call you my wife. Awwww! Yeah? And then the guy kind of botched it though because actually could've clipped that she gets all excited in the audience, I mean it's pretty funny And then so she comes running up to stage and he's, and then as she's running up. He says at least three times I haven't asked you yet. I haven't asked you yet. I haven't asked you what a douche. Once she gets up there, he does go on his knee give her a ring and asks her but what's yelling at her for when she's coming up on the stage? You can see where that relationship is going. I can guarantee you what's next

CHAPTER 10 / 45 Discussion

MH17 Investigation, Russian Defense Ministry Briefing

The Russian Defense Ministry held a live press conference presenting new evidence regarding the 2014 downing of flight MH17 over Ukraine. Officials claimed to have rocket "passports" proving the Buk missile involved belonged to the Ukrainian army. Audio recordings were also played, purportedly showing Ukrainian officials discussing the accidental downing of aircraft.

mh17· russia· ukraine· buk missile· defense ministry· investigation

20:56 Because of divorce. No Well, there's that no we're gonna see this another time in the near future on an award show but it will be a gay proposal That could be. There was one later in the show, there was a call back to this moment way late in the show where this guy who's also got a girlfriend in the audience says... he says my... I forgot if she is an actress or not but he said, She said she'd punch me in the face if I asked her marry here And I'm thinking yes do that on my show please very good anyway yeah Well, there is one piece of news that was played up pretty big here particularly in the Netherlands since it is news that concerns quite a number of Dutch citizens many of whom were killed and MH17. The downing

21:47 the MH17 airliner over Ukraine, as the Russians did a big live news conference. It was carried live all over the country people were tweeting about it and there was livestream on RT of course who interpreted the news for us And in a nutshell, they have proof that this was a Buk rocket that was in possession of the Ukrainian army and could've only been deployed by the Ukrainians for number of reasons. And I do have a clip... Remember this is RT so you'd expect them to be all over this news in positive fashion.

22:24 And that was I did a John right there didn't I? It's literally a one-second clip well, but I have a second one so yeah. Okay. I can I can summarize They have the original passport, each weapon has or each shell or rocket has a passport. It shows where it was made and it wasn't made in 84. earlier presumed but in 86 and this could have only been in Ukraine for all of these reasons and all the journalists were there they could examine the evidence it wasn't like a pdf like uh of an Obama birth certificate but it was the real booklet for whatever that's worth. But they did have this other interesting piece of, uh, of evidence which was a phone call of some you remember they had as proof that the Russians did it? They had some like drunk Russian...you know

23:24 The passport and all other relevant documents were actually brought to the room in fact they used to be top secret and the russian defense ministry have unclassified them for the sake of the probe, for the sake of the investigation. They also passed on all the data on the rocket to the official investigation and uh... they're saying that open out to everybody into any inquiries or any further questions that the official investigation may have in fact even us journalists had a chance too

24:08 have a look with our own eyes at these papers. Also, the second part of the presentation... This is interesting because I'm telling you that I probably cut out the wrong part on this one too although this is a good part of the report but this is not what I intended to clip for you. ...the Russian Defense Ministry included some footage analyzed before by the joint investigative team and the Russian defense ministry says basically they've shown their examples of how they believe that footage was tampered with. The third part was probably also a very interesting one, and it purported to play us an audio recording which the Russian Defense Ministry says is conversation between a Ukrainian colonel with another officer

24:54 And a lot of F-bombs dropped in that recording, unedited by the Russian Defense Ministry for the very purpose of showing that they themselves did not tamper with the recording. Well this is the key bit from it Right, so this is only translated with subtitles but this colonel says holy crap we don't want to blow up another plane like we did. I don't know if that's the actual translation some will in the audience will check it for us but that seemed to be a it was very clear recording you know almost as good as they had of Victoria Newland. So... The Russians have been

CHAPTER 11 / 45 Discussion

Russian Recording Culture, Bellingcat Skepticism

A discussion on the Russian cultural affinity for high-quality surveillance recordings links back to the Soviet era. The official Joint Investigative Team (JIT) report on MH17 is criticized for its slow progress and reliance on findings from the blogging collective Bellingcat. The hosts suggest the debate in the Netherlands has been suppressed by political interests.

bellingcat· jit· soviet era· surveillance· mh17

25:33 preoccupied with, and there's some cultural reason for this and I can't remember quite what it relates to but the Russians are really into high-quality recordings. Oh yeah! There was kind of an element in that in The Death Of Stalin they have... I saw it but tell me what part? What part? The beginning where they're recording the band. Yeah you're right They have, you know during the Soviet era there were microphones everywhere and they used to know everyone knew those microphones buried here and there. And they just really liked that more than anything they like to listen in. Curry podcast perfectionist or Russian spy? One of the two read the book

26:24 Anyway, so they it's good. Well you know I kind of believe the Russian side of this because of the length of time It took to rig the report Yeah exactly and remember The thing went down it should have been within a month or two They should have had something to tell us they told us nothing for over a year was phoning up evidence in longer it's been much longer than that and remember that the a lot of the main evidence against the Russians comes from Bellingcat. You know, do you remember Bellingcat? Yeah with the upside down C question mark. Bellingcat is the blogger who has a little group and he's kind like the Snopes of MH17. Yeah uh-huh exactly so yeah I don't know The whole thing is sad and in the Netherlands people have just been shut down by

27:24 The debate has just been quashed by the politicians and the mainstream media. Shut up, you don't need to know Yeah with this you know every time they come out with a report that's from the JIT the joint investigation investigative team Well we think this is it We're pretty sure will knows in the next update yeah then it's nine months yeah well look we have 97% of scientists are on board we really believe that's how its going so yeah It's sad. The whole thing is sad. What else did I have? Oh, I got a lot of BBC World Service stuff actually and... BBC World Service Yeah And you know, let me see if these are clipped properly We had a couple things happen at once we had the... what was this hold on let me check That looks good Looks like some my clips got screwed John This is uh... I don't know what happened here

CHAPTER 12 / 45 Discussion

Brett Kavanaugh Nomination, Straw Man Theory

The sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh are analyzed as a potential "straw man" strategy by the Trump administration. President Trump's public comments are interpreted as offering Kavanaugh an exit strategy while blaming Democrats for the delay. The timing of Senator Dianne Feinstein's release of the Ford letter is questioned.

brett kavanaugh· donald trump· dianne feinstein· supreme court· christine blasey ford

28:27 This is not good. Well, luckily I have two of the three. It's the tariffs... Trump increased the tariffs on the Chinese. Yeah? It was pretty big news over here! Did anyone talk about it in the US? Well, they tried to talk about it a little bit but it seems that the Kavanaugh stuff was getting more traction because now apparently if you listen Paul Krugman wrote an editorial in New York Times. You know the famous Paul Krugman calling Kavanagh obviously smarmy. They're really going after this Kavanagh guy I might have to give you the kudos on this because

29:10 I wasn't thinking that. Well, actually, I have some clips of Trump that I think really prove the theory. Let's back it off. Back off? Yeah. Yep. I want to make sure that people know what I'm talking about. You had the theory that this guy was a straw man and he was going to be thrown into wolves by... And he was going to be chewed up, gobbled up and spattered all over the place. And now it would lead into giving leverage to the Republicans moan and groan about this because he's probably not guilty of anything. And he's probably a pretty good pick, except for some elements that you saw that didn't like which I agree with." Well and remember it was the report we had is that Trump sister who's a judge had said no this is the person you want now forget who...it was the other person not the Kavanaugh but the second pick and now I can't remember for a second

29:59 There's two other ones including a woman I think he's gonna throw the woman in there next. Mine, but the way we interpreted it at the time was Kavanaugh is not meant to become the next Supreme Court justice. He's not meant to be confirmed and... Yes, and it also balances the ballot kind of balances the budget. Okay we screwed you on Gorsuch right now you screwed us on Kavanaugh where even? yes and I think this i have three clips here of Trump one of those helicopter getting on the helicopter go North Carolina stand up press gaggles

30:37 And I think what the way he speaks and the answers he's giving, and what he is giving Kavanaugh all kinds of... Well have a listen here. And really they're hurting somebody's life very badly. There is a lot of this hurting his life, his family and a lot of this like hey man if you want to bow out of this its a good time to do it. It's very unfair I think as you know Justice Kavanaugh has been treated... He's painting the Democrats as a bunch of A-holes. Oh wait! No no he gets better, gets better. Its very very tough and his family I think its a very unfair thing what going on so we'll see but I do think

31:25 They've given it a lot of time. They will continue to give it a lot of time and really, It's up To the Senate and I really rely on them. I think they're gonna do a good job So a lot of this time don't worry no rush take a lot of time And then there still more you know, it's really it's hard for his family. It's really tough I mean just think of that is true I mean going Going these guys being fold through the pull through the ringer here Extraordinary man, I think he's a man of great intellect as i've been telling you and he has an unblemished record This is a very tough thing for him in his family And we want to get it over with at the same time. We want to give tremendous amounts of time You know He's trying to communicate something here If she shows up that would be wonderful if she doesn't show up

32:17 That would be unfortunate. That would be not so... Well, let's really go in and let's just go for the kill and blame the Democrats for this horrible situation we're in! Look if she shows up and makes a credible showing that'll be very interesting and you have to make a decision but I can only say this he is such an outstanding man it's very hard for me to imagine that anything happens Well, I'd have to see what she has to say. Uh-I've given her a lot of time the Senate has given her a lot of time A lotta time being given! We continue to give her a lot of time... We've held up the whole hearing What i don't like is that Senator Feinstein... Feinsteen? Had this applica- had this letter for a period of like three months from July Maybe even before that but from July

33:09 Why didn't senator Feinstein bring this up at her meeting with judge Kavanaugh? Why didn't the Democrats they knew about the letter because she was showing it to Democrats Why did they wait till everything was finished and then bring it up that doesn't look good. No, that doesn't look good That's a good question Yeah, I'm now totally on board with the thesis that this poor bastard is just getting thrown to the wolves. It sounds to me like... yeah but it's who actually leaked her identity or this letter? Who leaked that Feinstein as he says Feinstein didn't leak it. I'm sure was someone in Trump side who leaked it get it out there here's what Feinstein said

CHAPTER 13 / 45 Discussion

Senate Judiciary Committee, Mazie Hirono Comments

Senator Mazie Hirono's demand for men to "shut up and step up" regarding the Kavanaugh investigation is characterized as extreme and irrational. Senator Richard Blumenthal is also criticized for his role in stalling the confirmation process. The hosts argue that the political climate surrounding the hearings has become unhealthy and performative.

mazie hirono· richard blumenthal· senate judiciary committee· fbi investigation

33:56 I have no say. I'm the lead Democrat, so this is all up to the Republican side. I can't say everything's truthful. I don't know. Ah! Okay... Let's hear another guy, the second to Feinstein is Blumenthal. This is Blumenthal on PBS showboating and this is the classic move to stall...and he knows that this is bullcrap but he's doing it anyway which is really shameful but this is Richard Blumenthal He has played a unique role in choosing and vetting judicial nominees. He was one who recommended

34:34 Rob Porter to his position as staff secretary, despite many people knowing about- Yes. His wife's violence. When he knew about these allegations and what he did to investigate them. Second we want to know when the letter signed by 65 of Judge Kavanaugh's former schoolmates was first started? It appeared you'll recall the day after the letter surfaced publicly. There must have been some preparation for it, that would be common sense and answers to those questions from Don McGahn will be extremely revealing let me just say finally that I hope we've learned something from the Anita Hill proceeding of 27 years ago

35:31 to This whole thing, this thing is so sick because it's really...this is the loop. The loop of social media and things popping up and people finding that Kavanaugh's mom was a judge in some foreclosure and then there's the-and it just feeds back into the media machine and people are becoming violently ill! No I'm not kidding listen to uh this is

36:15 Senator Mazie Hirono, the woman is violently ill. Of course it helps that there are women on that committee but you know what I expect the men in this country and the men in this committee, and many of them believe me because we all signed on to this letter to demand a FDI investigation but really guess who's perpetuating all these kinds of actions? It is some man in this country. And I just want to say to the men in this country Just shut up and step out! This is...this is illness when a senator speaks this way and I know it's an illness because if you saw this clip this is where ends

36:57 But right after this, I'll actually roll it back just a tad here. You'll hear she catches herself like what the hell did i just say? In this country and I just want to say to the men in this country Just shut up and step up! Do the right thing for change Okay you can see I'm a little upset by this you know The unfairness of that but do you have a second question? She's completely off her rocker You could see I'm a little upset by this but She realizes it, but she's ill. This is not normal. It's not normal behavior. Did you hear Barbara Boxer? Our friend Barbara Boxer the masher? The hitchhiking masher! Can I say that?

CHAPTER 14 / 45 Discussion

Barbara Boxer, Anna Eshoo Support for Dr. Ford

Former Senator Barbara Boxer appeared on MSNBC to vouch for the credibility of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, citing the support of Representative Anna Eshoo. The hosts dismiss these endorsements as partisan maneuvers. The discussion highlights the role of California politicians in amplifying the accusations against Kavanaugh.

barbara boxer· anna eshoo· christine blasey ford· msnbc· california

37:37 Can I get sued if i say that? It was a masher but maybe. Well she was always trying to... Okay, she's always hitting on guys at the airport. The hitchhiking hooker- hook upper! Sorry! Hook upper! Hooker! Trying to hookup her! Ah forget it here she is This woman is to be believed Now she's talking about Anna Eshoo Hold on stop me second Yes What does Boxer got to do with anything? Hey! Kamala Harris took her job She's on MSNBC providing commentary She's talking about Dr. Ford and Anna Eshoo, you looked into Anna Eshoo. Oh Anna Eshoo is the worst! Who is she? Who's Anna Eshoo? She's one of our representatives in the state of California Alright so Anna Eshoo

38:18 has vouched for Dr. Ford and Barbara Boxer says this... She knows after sitting with that woman, you can believe Anna Eshoo and you can believe Dr. Ford This was attempted rape Yeah And this is a woman who exhibits Dr. Ford courage but the classic signs of post-traumatic stress I mean wow! I don't think this is healthy debate anymore No but it falls right into the pattern that you predicted I'm surprised that your feel bad about it

CHAPTER 15 / 45 Discussion

Georgetown Prep, Kavanaugh High School Comments

A 2015 clip of Brett Kavanaugh joking that "what happens at Georgetown Prep stays at Georgetown Prep" is identified as a significant piece of media "gold" that has been underutilized by mainstream outlets. The hosts express surprise that even conservative outlets like Fox News are entertaining the idea of delaying the confirmation.

georgetown prep· brett kavanaugh· fox news· high school· media coverage

39:06 Well, I'm just looking at it from a distance. I see gloating more than you are! I've been in the EU now and i look across the water and go oh man really we do cool shit too people back off it's the thing is Here's the clip that I'm surprised that Mainstream isn't playing over and over and over again. This is Kavanaugh within his own words Order the FBI to examine the accusation that Kavanaugh categorically denies The judge here in 2015 reflecting on a saying among his high school classmates What happens at Georgetown prep stays at Georgetown Prep? That's been a good thing for all of us, I think

39:49 I mean, come on! That's gold. That is gold you're right they should be playing that Why are...I mean it's very odd very odd to me and you see you know on Fox News it's all like yeah she should speak let's get all this good It's like they've all been instructed this guy he cannot become scout we want his money drawed out its got him to take and this is the Republicans the Fox News station The Democrats like you know he can't be and they'll yeah, take your time do as much as you want. This is bizarre man There's something there's something amiss here. This is not normal behavior nothing a miss That's exact going exactly as spent as plans. Yeah, you're right. Yeah well I'm glad I called it although what I have to the best part of Of this is the memes? I'm surprised you called in then you're like oh

40:41 After you've already, instead of spiking the ball you're saying I don't know maybe we should bring it back and run to play again. No no no! I'm not saying that... You like the reluctant touchdown scorer because... I'll tell ya why. This is too on point. I'm doubting myself It's too on point. It's so exactly what we predicted it's I'm doubting myself now, how can this be happened? This is where's the hitch not seeing 10 years of experience Well you but you might be doing it might be looking for the meta there may be something about Is that this is going so smoothly that it can't be just this something else yes exactly something else Very common no agenda phenomenon okay well thank you for helping me through that

CHAPTER 16 / 45 Discussion

FBI Background Checks, White House Investigation Role

The debate over whether the FBI should investigate the allegations against Kavanaugh centers on the White House's authority to request an expanded background check. President Trump noted that Kavanaugh had already undergone six thorough investigations. The hosts suggest that demanding a new investigation is an implicit insult to the FBI's prior vetting process.

fbi· background check· white house· brett kavanaugh· mark judge

41:31 Yeah, the doctor is possible. There's something more to it. All I know there's one thing that like play the last thing I guess yes the FBI can look into a clip which is a long clip from CBSN The FBI, what are you hearing from your sources? Because in the case that this is a he said she said. You know people are immediately jumping to the well maybe she's asking for an investigation because she wants to delay things maybe she's asking for an investigation so it's not just a he said she said because even Mark who's in the room Judge Mark judge who was in the room while he said it didn't happen He's not willing to testify

42:09 Yes, Stephanie my sources are frankly presenting another view than the one you just heard from Bill Gavin Which is that the FBI absolutely could investigate this not as a criminal matter but as part of their role background checking federal nominees But they could only do that if the White House asked them to look into this allegation. And if the White House did ask them to do that, they would be perfectly capable of shedding some light on this. In fact you know they have people who do nothing but interview sex crime victims. They have trained interrogators and as you said there are witnesses in this case Mark Judge and there's another woman who is on Twitter saying she was a classmate of Dr Ford and that this incident was discussed now I asked The Hill

42:50 And they said they don't know whether that's true or not. That's the kind of thing that the FBI could investigate They could find people who knew these folks who were classmates they could try to triangulate was this triangle a occur You know did people talk about this even though it yeah, obviously it was many many years ago But the FBI is fully capable of at least shedding some light on this I'm gonna triangulate that bar and triangulation well You know what the White House has to... I mean, the FBI supposedly is what I remember. Well Trump said he's that they investigated him as part of their background check. Six times! They investigated this guy six times thoroughly Is that true? And then they never came up with anything so this is kind of an insult to the FBI How do we know it's true? Well, Trump said it No one has denied that they have investigated him over and over because when he became a federal judge They had to investigate him and then they had to investigate him again They investigated this guy a lot Okay alright

CHAPTER 17 / 45 Discussion

Celebrity Activism, Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus is criticized for her public support of Dr. Ford, with the hosts noting her immense family wealth as an heiress to the Dreyfus fortune. The discussion warns of "collateral damage" to the entertainment industry when celebrities engage in highly polarized political activism. A theory of "karmic reversal" for those who use the media machine for promotion is proposed.

julia louis-dreyfus· aristocrats· celebrity wealth· activism· karma

43:47 It's like an insult to the FBI. Well, you investigate him and you miss this? You guys stink! I mean it's like the FBI can't be happy about all these complaints Hey it's a twofer Trump is not only doing getting exactly what he wants But he's also screwing in the FBI a little extra Yeah without even having to do anything yeah twofer I like the memes though even know actually gonna say something else that all these letter writers I think there's some danger, regardless of what Tina's opinion is on Kavanaugh and the accusations. When Julia Louis-Dreyfus also was tweeting, you know, I support her! I signed on for my school! I'm one of the 200 signing in support of her

44:33 And Tina said, I don't want to read the letter because i'll have trouble watching the show. Regardless of the opinion just the fact that she's doing it Just be on television! Do your show It's a great show Don't ruin it I think there is collateral damage that people aren't thinking about Well, the other thing is Julia Lewis-Dreyfus was one of the richest women in the world. Billionaire! She's a billionaire. The inheritor of her dad and you can look him up on Wikipedia who in 2006 was worth $4 billion dollars and that was 12 years ago he only died recently so she is like an aristocrat not only just elite but an aristocrat who decided to go into acting as a lark

45:18 She's a comedian, she was the funny Dreyfus in the family. Oh ho ho! Let her do her bit and so they tolerated her but it's like you know it's like... It's a ridiculous situation with this woman she should get... She is the one who should get out of the way. So if she has her nerve? So she's the punchline to The Aristocrats? Okay I sat on that one for a moment Well like but I think just the collateral damage that show business people are now going to witness if you keep use John Legend's gonna see this too. That's how the machine works You use the machine for promotion over and over again or whatever your message is at a certain point the karmic Wheel reverses, and it's shit spits back at you. I've witnessed this myself range you up It does time and time again

46:12 It doesn't always come back instantly, it can be years later but you will get shit spewed over you from the machine and it happens to everyone who uses it. Thank goodness we just have a little podcast. We're podcasters, you know our podcasters So I like the memes though even though it's a it's a sad topic in general You know the ridiculousness of the accusation like I don't always want to say who I am I don't remember exactly where was done exactly who else no who else was there? I kind of remembered what happened so now so now people and it was when I was very young people are doing means all over The place such as this one

CHAPTER 18 / 45 Discussion

Maxine Waters, Viral Parody Video

A viral parody video features a man jokingly accusing Representative Maxine Waters of "sexual assault" for kissing him on the cheek when he was two years old. The video serves as a satirical commentary on the perceived excesses of the Me Too movement and the nature of historical allegations.

maxine waters· youtube· parody· me too· satire

46:54 This is hard. So Maxine Waters, about 20... No. About 25 years ago when I was two Somebody had took me to a Maxine Waters rally or to her I don't know what I Forgot where we were at. I Don't remember why we why I was even near Maxine waters at that age, but she had kissed me on the cheek and she Google got in doing all that and you know, I was only two I didn't give up permission to kiss me on the cheek and

47:34 And you know she was grabbing on my cheeks and could you could you would you would she and all that? You know She shouldn't be in office right now. This is like a emotional YouTube face Wait for the punchline here comes they need to launch a federal investigation Because I didn't give her permission to put lips on me. Her breath was funky. Breath was funky? That's such a visual joke! I think that's kind of funny, but yeah and that's pretty much what's going on. But you know this re-sparks the hashtag Me Too we have all kinds of Me Too stuff in the news again fact i should

CHAPTER 19 / 45 Discussion

Cody Wilson, Sexual Assault Allegations in Texas

Cody Wilson, the founder of Defense Distributed and creator of 3D-printed gun blueprints, faces sexual assault charges in Austin, Texas. The hosts suggest the case may be a "honey trap" or setup by the "deep state" due to Wilson's legal victories regarding untraceable firearms. The age of consent in Texas and Wilson's business trip to Taiwan are discussed as key factors in the media narrative.

cody wilson· 3d printed guns· taiwan· austin· honey trap

48:26 probably I think you have a clip and i'll probably follow it up with my clip on the Cody Wilson. I thought you had a clip that I see you had one what do I have was sexual assault against plastic gun guy Oh yeah, the Cody Wilson guy got a sexual assault. It's very sketchy but it starts off talking about how he is in Taiwan and they make it... The way they play this CBSN, the way they played as though its suspicious. Yes, he's in Taiwan. Even though he says he goes there for business but looks like he might be trying to escape.

49:09 Stuff that runs on 3D printers. Taiwan is one of the places you'd go to talk to the manufacturers so maybe, so they can get in on what they're up to in the next generation and say oh I know that's good that you guys are doing this. This is what you do when you go to Taiwan or China To talk to the guys about their next generation products Police say they don't know why Wilson went to Taiwan but he travels there frequently for business Wilson is the owner of a company that sells blueprints for untraceable 3D printed guns online. A judge ordered him to stop selling the plans, but he's since found a loophole if convicted of sexual assault Wilson could face up to 20 years in prison. Hold on let me play my clip that's a little different

49:52 Hold on. The man who tried to sell blueprints for making untraceable plastic guns is now accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl By the way, this is completely not the truth This is not the story but Shep Smith has just... Just how the story goes, the truth gets twisted around Cops say Cody Wilson met the girl on a dating website called Sugar Daddy Meat and paid her $500 after he had sex in hotel room in Austin, Texas. Investigators say they have surveillance video of them getting off an elevator together at that- I'm shocked I am not aware of Sugar Daddy Meat in Austin, Texas! I'm shocked I tell you! Yeah, I would be if I were you! The alleged victim told police Wilson bragged that he was a big deal We're still waiting to hear from Wilson

50:40 His attorney it smells like a setup and a honey trap to me. You know they find out the guys cuz you know You've seen these sites sugar daddy calm, and you support then these sugar daddies support These women with rent or whatever it is And then yeah, and then if you read if you believe the testimonials in the articles written about it A lot of these guys don't even want sex They just want to have two girls hanging around whatever their deal is. Maybe this guy was into that and then they set him up. Well, he seems to be set up for sure than this nonsense about him being Taiwan as though he's on the run. He's on the lamb. And 17 is I believe the age of consent in Texas isn't it?

51:27 You're asking me? I don't know. I can look it up. Look it up, as far as I know 17 has always been the age of consent in Texas So if she's 17 what difference does that make well they say there was a minor and that they were you know They were tracking him Yes under 17 your right so we have that little anomaly That's interesting yeah, and that's a good catch and realize that Well so it's just to do what did some fed some fad working in the bureaucrat and you know that.

52:04 just dark state or whatever you want to call it. He hates this guy because he got screwed over because Cody got out from his little printing business by finding a loophole, which means the law was written in such a way that gave him that opportunity. Loopholes are... It's not a loophole. It's not like he discovered something. It was there And then this guy got irked. So they set him up and I heard a setup, I heard him on it and then they got it wrong because she's 17 in the state where is legal? But I heard them on a podcast. I should have clipped it where he said, oh, they're setting me. They said, I'm targeted something. Something's going to happen you watch. It's going to happen. But I didn't have time to verify when that was recorded and everything so I didn't clip it but apparently he knew it was coming

CHAPTER 20 / 45 Discussion

Mark Cuban, Dallas Mavericks Workplace Misconduct

An independent investigation into the Dallas Mavericks revealed a "pervasive" culture of sexual harassment and workplace misconduct. Owner Mark Cuban issued a public apology, claiming he was unaware of the issues occurring within his organization. The hosts question the sincerity of Cuban's emotional response and his claim of ignorance given his hands-on management style.

mark cuban· dallas mavericks· nba· sexual harassment· cynthia marshall

52:55 And then what we had another one. We owe something that was not so much well, I'll do that in a second Let's let's get to the next the true hashtag me too from Mark Cuban Okay, set your clip up and we'll see if I need to play mine or not. This is this kind of just a rundown on the changes in the Mavericks organization and somehow Cuban is like They got nothing to do with it. I'm gonna change some managers because there's one guy total douchebag was running the place You don't get you don't have guys like it's always from the top down I don't care what anybody thinks if this if you gotta but

53:33 10 guys working for you, they're all horrible douchebags. You are a douchebag! You hired him. You're the worst and so uh they don't mention the fact that then he was shook down for ten million dollars by some organization that's what got me laughing to myself independent investigation into the Dallas Mavericks turned up disturbing details about the business side of the NBA franchise there was pervasive sexual harassment and other serious workplace misconduct And by that I mean threats, intimidation and two instances where an employee engaged in domestic violence. Sports Illustrated first detailed the allegations seven months ago which prompted owner Mark Cuban to hire a new CEO Cynthia Marshall and order an investigation

54:20 The report turned up substantiated allegations against three male administrative employees, including claims from 15 women alleging a pattern of misconduct from former team president Tordema Assari throughout his tenure. There were two women who came forward to report that he had engaged in forcible kissing, that he kissed them on the lips There were times that employees said he repeatedly touched them on their thighs, often under the table where no one could see. Investigators say Ussery denied most of the claims and there were no complaints in his file Not a single witness said they had told Cuban anything. Investigators recommended the Mavericks hire more women and improve formal reporting practices We have a speak up culture now

55:09 Speak up culture. Yeah, so I don't think the shakedown was he's giving that Cuban is giving 10 million to organizations that promote awareness and some specific organization oh Oh, I'd only saw it with organizations Fuzzy to me felt real fuzzy like that's not a fine That's not a fine of any sort. No, it's not a fine, its nothing! And nobody told Cuban about these guys because they knew that if they told Cuban they'd get fired You want to hear Cuban on the topic himself? Like all emotional Yeah, which I think this. I believe As I believe how karma goes around now? I understand Cuban I think at a certain point maybe When I had a lot of cash and you know things were going my way And I was things I'd predicted came true and I had money Those two if you have to the combination otherwise is just some dude podcaster

56:06 Who says he's from the future and yeah you get a little cocky, but Cuban is cocky. He's a cocky guy and he had a lot of fortunate circumstances take place very smart to taking anything away from him But he's been cocky the machines gonna come around to him And this interview may be the one that's gonna hurt him the most as again. He said at top of the organization Here's how he's discussed I think this is ESPN actually first an apology to the women involved, the women that in a couple cases were assaulted and not just them but their families because this is not something that just is an incident and then it's over. It stays with people, it stays with families I'm sorry I didn't see it. I'm sorry I didn't recognize it and hope out of this

57:04 you know, we'll be better and we can avoid it and we can help make everybody just smarter about the whole thing. And you read through the report and you really read the details of things that you hadn't known about before what stood out to you as the most difficult answer of what people had to go through? Just the pain they went through with my company It was just same way I felt when I stood in front of Mavs employees for the first time after this came out

57:40 You know and I apologize to them it just never my wildest dreams that I think that this was happening right underneath me And I'd never the pain that people went through the pain that people shared with me as this happened The tears that I saw It just it hurt and what the way, I felt is nothing compared to the way they felt. Oh well I'm glad you said that at the end a lot about you Mr.. Cuban Well, hold on a second. Doesn't this contradict the report that I had clipped? To which degree? To the degree that they said no one ever told Cuban and now he's telling us that they're coming up to him crying and sobbing? Well this is after-the-fact now that it's all out there apparently We don't know... He never really explained the timeline here Okay, i'm just being presumptuous but

58:40 Anyways, like Vyhobny's Niska Vushd. We didn't know I didn't know it but how-I mean i'm so in touch with such a great organization But I don't know what's going on in it That's the contradiction. That is really a bad thing to say. Yeah, you know this is the family. This is the Maverick family. The organization is out of control? I thought you owned it! They don't even call them companies or teams they call them the organization because we're organized. I know that but he's a hands-on guy uh huh apparently a little too hands on. Johnny C D Vorak And then, although not really... actually we should conclude this. It was kind of a shake-up in the open source community as after years of abusive emails the creator of Linux steps aside

CHAPTER 21 / 45 Discussion

Linus Torvalds, Linux Kernel Leadership Break

Linus Torvalds, the creator of Linux, announced he is stepping away from the project to seek help for his "abusive" and confrontational behavior toward other developers. This shift in the open-source community is viewed as a surprising departure from Torvalds' long-standing leadership style. The hosts speculate whether this is a genuine realization or a strategic exit.

linus torvalds· linux· open source· kernel· code of conduct

59:32 Have you been following the Linus Torvalds story? No, I have not. You have to brief me on this Oh my goodness! He has come to the realization and now Linus Torvalds...I'll try and summarize he I guess he took GNU Linux and created Linux, whoever's story you believe. But he has been running the kernel which is the core guts of the Linux operating system and it is a very tough job It's a very political job and all-consuming This is a lifestyle if you want to be someone who runs a project like that and makes these decisions

1:00:09 And because it's a committee of one, it's him as far as I know. There are just lists and conversations you can only imagine if you've ever seen anything online It gets crazy! He would say shut up and fuck off and all these kinds of things to people sometimes on these lists Now all the sudden he has come to Jesus Maybe literally I don't know and he says that you know, I've now realized that I've been very abusive towards people And I need to step back and get some help and learn how to be less confrontational So it's like they activated the chip or something Or I don't know just all of a sudden something happened in his life where did he came to this realization? He's been abusive. Yeah, no one is really sure where this is coming from

1:00:58 Other than that's en vogue. Linus Torvalds? Yeah, wow! Pulling back now I don't know exactly what that means... Maybe he is just fed up. It's just a way to get out I can imagine that too yeah I could imagine that for sure. That's what I think Musk is trying to do Yes, there's more and more. I watch musk. I keep thinking this guy is trying to get out of out of the what he sees as Good eventual sinking ship that's just not gonna turn the corner He's got good people you know he knows how to hire people. This is he's gotta have a bookkeeper says look

CHAPTER 22 / 45 Discussion

Elon Musk, Tesla Successor Speculation

Speculation regarding Elon Musk's potential exit from Tesla suggests he may be looking for a way out of a "sinking ship" burdened by unfulfilled promises and reliance on government subsidies. The hosts argue that Tesla needs a clear visionary successor to maintain investor confidence if Musk departs.

elon musk· tesla· spacex· government subsidies· leadership

1:00:58 Other than that's en vogue. Linus Torvalds? Yeah, wow! Pulling back now I don't know exactly what that means... Maybe he is just fed up. It's just a way to get out I can imagine that too yeah I could imagine that for sure. That's what I think Musk is trying to do Yes, there's more and more. I watch musk. I keep thinking this guy is trying to get out of out of the what he sees as Good eventual sinking ship that's just not gonna turn the corner He's got good people you know he knows how to hire people. We're not going to be able to do this, we're not gonna be able to do that all these promises you've made aren't gonna it may be in some distant future but we're running through cash there's no way and once the government and you got Trump in office he might get re-elected He's not going let these government subsidies continue? Oh No of course not! Of course not So its like the writings on the wall Yeah Yeah, it's probably a better way for the company to go but they don't have a successor. They need someone an obvious next in line who has some visibility if he wants to pull that I mean even he should understand that We're gonna look for all right well we're gonna start seeing a name crop up yeah keep that is either a protege of Musk or somebody who's important to the company or

No Agenda Art, Ant Eradication Story

Artist Conan Salata is thanked for the episode 1069 artwork, "That Was German Spam," which features a singed ant corpse. The art references a previous segment regarding effective methods for ant eradication. The No Agenda Art Generator continues to serve as the primary source for the show's visual identity.

1:03:24 And it was, we've had a lot of ant artwork based upon an ant story and this was a fine revisit to how you can really get rid of ants. One of our supporters had donated thanking you or his family reminded him to thank you for teaching him how to get rid of ants. And that of course involves the torching of certain elements of the ant family This is one of the best singed ant corpses I've ever seen on the Art Generator. It was very nice, very nice work Conan Salata. NoahGenderArtGenerator.com is where we find all of this talent and were always extremely appreciative about it but thank you very much for your courage and your support of The Noah Gender Show!

Executive Producer Credits, Donation Notes

The hosts recognize top donors, including Sir Julian, who contributed $1,001 and encouraged listeners to live debt-free. Other significant donations from Ken Anderson and the Lavender Blossom team are acknowledged. The segment includes several "F-cancer" jingles and "karma" requests for listeners facing personal hardships.

1:04:15 We do have some people to thank and we have the curious phenomenon of a bunch of executive producers in one lone associate. Oh, again that was the same as last Thursday's show. So yeah on Sunday so we have Sir Julian in Morgan Hill California is their number one guy at $1,000 or $1,001. Whoa! Yeah it was pretty good what does he say? He says, checking in again to hit that Earl level. He's going for Earl. Oh cool! 1:06:11 I remain annoyed by the use of the term democracy rather than republic, by elected officials and reporters when speaking of United States governance. Saying that US is a democracy is like nails on blackboard to me! Right on, preach! I have lived in seven of these sovereign states and each is unique and proud of their independence in thought and governance. Even the ones with governors in jail or teetering on bankruptcy, because he lived in Illinois for a while. Each of these sovereign states have hated Washington politics and its influence except California and also want their share of federal taxes paid by their citizens back

CHAPTER 25 / 45 Discussion

US-China Trade War, Tariff Escalation

The escalating trade war between the US and China saw President Trump impose tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese goods, with China retaliating on $60 billion of US imports. The hosts discuss the trade deficit as a strategic advantage for the US in a tariff battle. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang's response is analyzed.

1:13:07 Making a lot of noise there, son. Making a lot of noise Let's see I picked up a few more things Now did we even get to the- We didn't even get to the China tariffs? I didn't play those. No you didn't You just went back and discussed bikes Right BBC World Okay yeah that was what was wrong So I'm missing one of the three clips, doesn't matter. We'll play these two so the BBC World Service talked about these tariffs and as we already discussed the Kavanaugh stuff kind of took over in The States which was great because here was talked about a bit more and it was you know shocking shocking what's going on here is BBC World Service on the tariffs with a response from the Chinese How much longer can the world's to biggest economies engage in a damaging trade war before one of them runs up a white flag?

1:13:58 China has fired the latest salvo, imposing tariffs or taxes on $60 billion worth of imports from the United States. It was responding to President Trump's decision to levy further tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said no one should be surprised at China's response I want to reiterate that in response to the action taken by the United States, China has to take necessary countermeasures to defend its own legitimate rights and interests and safeguard the global order of free trade. The US action has brought new uncertainties to the trade negotiations between the two sides. We have already expressed our position on China-US trade issues many times

1:14:48 and I think it has already been made clear to everyone. was part of a nice threesome because they explained there that the Chinese are kind of running out of tariffs to put in place because of the trade deficit. Well, we have a huge trade surplus. Trump knows this and I don't understand why people can't get it is that if you give your... The worst thing he could do to you is tax this much as one-tenth of what we can tax their stuff They're the ones that would get hurt the most. It's all obvious it's basically I think about 120 billion to 600 or two to six hundred billion, I think that's the That's the difference in number Yeah if it doesn't seem like a but like you know it seemed actually seems like no brainers Like eventually you're gonna lose this is just a bigger a bigger stick but

CHAPTER 26 / 45 Discussion

ZTE, Tech Mergers and Acquisitions

Beyond tariffs, the trade conflict is impacting global tech mergers, such as a blocked acquisition of a Dutch chipmaker by a US firm due to Chinese regulatory inaction. The restrictions on Chinese telecom giant ZTE's access to American components are highlighted as more damaging than traditional tariffs. The hosts explore the role of the EU and China in sabotaging international business deals.

zte· semiconductors· m&a· china· netherlands

1:15:42 And this was interesting from the World Service, there's a lot of shenanigans going on behind the scenes that is actually much more important. But the other things which have been happening behind the scenes include China withholding permission for a US tech company to acquire a Dutch chipmaker that had been several years in the negotiations and they just simply sat on their hands and did nothing. So, they didn't grant permission that M&A fell apart. The United States has restricted access by Chinese tech company ZTE to key components from America, such as semiconductor chips. And that's caused China second biggest telecoms equipment maker to virtually go under so those restrictions on investment what they could do in terms of how business operate across borders are far more damaging than tariffs because those decisions

1:16:38 can't really be reversed. President Trump could decide tomorrow he's changed his mind on tariffs and they could just be removed but once a company changes its supply chain, stops the way that it produces overseas or the way it does deals those decisions are much harder to reverse and actually have much bigger economic consequences I thought the ZTE thing had been solved sounded from that report like there was still an issue I have to look into it now. Yeah, because that was the whole... Our thesis is that Trump tried to save that deal to help because you know, right I mean collapsing. Yeah That's what we don't want right tariffs can change overnight. That's true I mean this is also there's a lot of stuff going on with mindset these days and You get into this your own personal loop of oh my gosh, you know But when you step back for second tariff set taffy's here tomorrow gone tomorrow And yeah today here today gone tomorrow It was very simple thing but it was the first report though about the Dutch government

1:17:39 The Dutch chip company, what's that got to do with China? Oh the... it was an acquisition. And this is these are big deals! There's an American acquisition of a Dutch chip company in China I guess I don't know which one it is someone knows well What does China have to do with that just keep asking the question Is this Dutch? Hey John I really don't know who's the tech guy here I'm the DJ man I'm just podcasting Yeah, that's a good thing to fall back on. Hey just a few years ago I was in the fourth grade man. Right baby? You know what i'm saying? Hold on... What is going on here?

1:18:24 The strange has happened with my... I know the EU can put the kibosh on a lot of these international deals. The ki-bosh? Yeah, the Ki-BOSH or the Kai-BOSH. They just say no you can't make it by that company they're actually gonna say yeah you can buy them but then you can never do business in our country again right maybe there's something like that going on with China that would be interesting because I think they could get away with that. The EU's been getting away with it forever." We also have to take into consideration the stuff that Google is doing or wants to do and, you know this... A lot of things could be playing out that we're really not privy too because, you know, we have no news information sources

CHAPTER 27 / 45 Discussion

Joe Biden, "Dregs of Society" Comments

Joe Biden's comments referring to some of President Trump's supporters as the "dregs of society" are compared to the themes of the film *They Live*. The hosts suggest that Biden's physical appearance in recent clips resembles the "skeletal" elites from the John Carpenter movie. A link to the film's imagery is recommended for the show's newsletter.

joe biden· they live· john carpenter· elites· rodney piper

1:19:02 to speak of. Yeah, there's no news people covering anything I mean yeah it's not true this Google thing is hilarious though because it's their internal strife you know the do-gooders and social justice warriors that the company has hired over the years that won't let Google do what he wants to do business wise I think that's...to me it's just hilarious. Oh yeah, you know I just wanted to play this clip just because what he says is kind of funny but I don't know if you saw Joe Biden But here's what he said. These forces of intolerance remain determined to undermine and roll back the progress you all have made, this time they not you have an ally in the White House This time they have an ally They're a small percentage of American people virulent people

1:19:56 So I play the clip. Because of course he said some of the people who support the president are dregs of society, but you really need to find that clip or look at a recent photo of Joe because whenever... I mean he looks older. He looks much thinner but whenever he turns his face profile

1:20:42 You know, there's a great no agenda movie that we recommend everybody watch. It's not our movie but this is a no-agenda type movie it's actually in a bit of way a cornerstone of the show is They Live which is a Roddy Piper stars in this and I think it was a Carpenter movies John Carpenter movie? John Carpenters only horror movie and well No he did horror movies But his only science fiction science fiction yeah Yeah, and it is a must watch. It's not the best made movie... No but it's very funny! Yes and when you have these glasses on you see words like obey shut up slave and all this but

1:21:19 There's a number of people in the world and these are the elites and when you have the glasses on, You can see kind of their skeletal like faces. Joe Biden looks like one of them on profile when you see him today and specifically in this clip Wow. You cannot... Send me a link, let's put a link in the newsletter! Oh okay well there is a... I want some pictures of it in the newsletter. Well if you do a quick bing you might even see it if we just do Joe Biden dregs of society. Just do that. What's being guys spelled? No please don't do this to me. Alright alright I'll do it since your on the creeps

1:22:01 I got some creeps. Hey, wait a minute someone will do some show art you watch we'll see it right after the show will be done You'll see a clip from they live Yeah, but you don't have to even do anything to the guy. I mean he looks like one of those people and you can't unsee it when it happens. Okay well now I don't want to see it! How'd you spell Bing? It really... Did that took ya that long?! Yeah but please did you get the picture I sent you from Switzerland of Bing House No. Yeah, I did. It was a Chinese restaurant named Bing House. I don't know there's something weird about it. Well, Bing House... well there is a lot of China... Bing is a big name in certain parts of China. I know but when you put house after it, Bing House. I dunno. H-A-U-S? Yes! Oh that's funny.

CHAPTER 28 / 45 Discussion

John Brennan, Allegations of Conversion to Islam

Former CIA Director John Brennan is the subject of renewed allegations regarding his purported conversion to Islam while serving as station chief in Saudi Arabia. Former CIA officer Brad Johnson claims to have second-hand knowledge of the conversion. The discussion explores the implications of a high-ranking intelligence official changing religions during an overseas assignment.

john brennan· cia· islam· saudi arabia· brad johnson

1:22:51 So I've got this podcast and I'm sorry that I don't have the name of the podcast. It's a violation man It is a violation, but I still have the clip this guy Was this is it? It's actually kind of a it's a right-wing podcast But it's got this guy brat does again never heard him before and approved now I've heard him a lot because they tracked him down as Brad Johnson He's a ray McGovern like XCIA guy And he revealed some stuff here that I didn't know, you won't know. It's like really weird stuff but this is a series of clips. I got three clips about Brennan being a Muslim. Yes we've asserted this for quite awhile yes. Well let's start with the zero clip zero or it says zurp

1:23:44 Brandon converts is the opening clip of the podcast. Now look, I want to narrow in here on what john Gwandolo has been pointing to over the years it's just incredible how this has become a taboo subject in terms of how CNN talks about this collusion nonsense every night you would think that the media would have been talking about this every night and will should continue talking about John Brennan's conversion to Islam while he was in Saudi Arabia. Did this happen? Did this not happen? Let us say it did not happen, or it did but why can't this question be asked? Why has anybody in the establishment media even asked this question one time? It is absolutely incredible and it matters if a CIH station chief

1:24:34 converts to Islam and is devout, and takes surahs 9-5 & 9-2-9 seriously. It's an issue! John Guandolo what did you know about this back then? And what do you know about it now?" Well, first of all I want to comment on something that Brad just said because i think it's really critical. When I first brought this story to light and gave an interview about it, I had sources in Saudi Arabia that had direct knowledge that John Brennan said the Shahada while he was the station chief over there. And here is what I said in summation on that interview

1:25:17 It was the fact, and this is what Brad's talking about is his incompetency. His unprofessionalism John Brennan's unprofessionalism when you do that in front of Saudi Mubahidh When you do that in front of Saudi officials it just leaves this huge question mark Of where's your loyalty? Where's your maturity? Where's your professionalism those are the questions I raised So it goes on and they bring this guy, this Brad Johnson on. They go back and forth he was obviously earlier

1:25:55 And Brad Johnson has he's the one we knew the guy who was there to witness it because we had a clip of him some time ago like couple years ago Yes on this show, but this Brad Johnson character is really interesting and this is the Brennan converts to Islam on podcast 1 There's that video of John Brennan giving this little talk there. You know everybody look it up Just look up John Brennan on YouTube says Islam as a religion of peace and she had whatever It's a three-minute clip And he's just on fire talking about Islam being a religion of peace and he is speaking Arabic. I've studied fellow travelers all my life, and that euphoria that he is in… it's a typical fellow traveler that's worshipping the totalitarian entity that he is in front of. It's just very creepy,

1:26:47 video. Let me go to you, Brad. Hopefully you'll say what you think of that video as well but let's begin Brad What did you hear while you were at the CIA about Brennan's conversion? Well, that it's true. I mean, I do have...I would say my information is similar to John's. I have a close personal friend I've known for nearly 40 years who was there speaks Arabic and so on and says he personally witnessed all of this so I believe it's true Now, that's not first-hand knowledge. It is second hand knowledge but it is second hand knowledge from someone who was there and had access to know and I'm fully convinced that he converted to Islam. I have a couple of questions First of all when this guy says fellow travelers does he mean fellow Muslims? People who've converted to Islam

1:27:43 I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. No, I think what he refers to this actually goes back to the days of the communist scare in the 50s and fellow travelers or people that were subversives And you could spot them by their kind of zealotry and it's a style that indicates that they're really not, they're on specific side of things. In the back in the 50s would be the communists, the old communists. And fellow traveler if you look it up is really referring to just part of a group I wouldn't call them creeps, but people that are not really on your side and he's working for the enemy. And secondly...

1:28:26 Okay, so he converted to Islam. He was there for a station chief and you know he learned the language You started to read a bit is like yeah like people go to India and they come back all enlightened you're like Swami Gumi And what difference does it make? So the guy's Muslim The CIA chief he's not supposed to be changing religions in the middle of his gig Is that in the handbook It better be. And then in the bigger scheme of things, since some people believe that Obama was a Muslim this way he put him as the head of the CIA because in fact you may have been appealing to Obama by switching religions somebody may have told him that Obama's a Muslim and he's like working for us now

CHAPTER 29 / 45 Discussion

Gina Haspel, CIA Leadership Cadre

The current leadership of the CIA, including Director Gina Haspel and Deputy Director Vaughan Bishop, are identified as close associates and "protégés" of John Brennan. The hosts argue that pulling Brennan's security clearance was a strategic move by Trump to prevent him from having classified discussions with his former subordinates. Haspel's past role in London during the creation of the Steele dossier is also questioned.

gina haspel· john brennan· vaughan bishop· steele dossier· security clearance

1:29:13 With that in mind, you have to listen to this part which you've heard none of this even suggested anywhere and this is where Brad continues. I do want to take a little bit different approach take on some of this stuff. I think that Brennan is still extraordinarily active within the intelligence field and i think the fact that his clearance was taken away was a fabulous stroke of genius on the part of President Trump, it's really going to be extraordinarily helpful let me explain why they just named a new deputy director for the CIA guy named Vaughan Bishop now Vaughan Bishop

1:29:52 handpicked by the current director, Gina Haspel. Now there's something out of that that's extraordinarily unusual and he was pulled out of retirement to come back and fill this deputy director of the CIA slot That doesn't happen from time to time, but in his case it's the second time. He was also pulled out of retirement by none other than John Brennan to fill the position of OMS budsman for his modernization program that we were referring to earlier. That's one guy there is another guy now who is the chief operating officer, the COO for the CIA a guy named Andrew McCritis

1:30:34 Andrew was also handpicked by Gina Haspel, also pulled out of retirement to be put into that position and previously was also hand-picked by John Brennan head of the task force that he created to implement this modernization program. So now Gina Haspel herself was somebody that was a close associate, nobody's looked at her either. Even in her hearings, to be her confirmation hearing at the Senate nobody asked or anything that was very tough. They were going on about the torture program and waterboarding and all of that but ask yourself this question Gina Haspel again there's a pattern here. Gina Haspel was Chief of Station in London she was handpicked and brought back and made chief of station in London a second time

1:31:27 by none other than John Brennan and at a time when the Steele dossier was being put together. There's not been one person to ever ask a question of Gina Haspel about any of that now don't know but I would certainly like to know did Gina Haspel have any part in any of that? All these people that form the leadership of the CIA are all close associates of John Brennan. Now, the reason I mention that is because this was such a serendipitous act to pull his clearance he bitches and pisses and moans about the fact that his First Amendment rights are under attack by having this clearance pulled but he's on MSNBC and NBC all the time saying whatever he wants

1:32:10 The fact that his clearance was pulled makes it easier for him to speak out, not harder. Because he doesn't have the problem of maybe mixing up current classified information with whatever the topic of day is on the news so it makes it better What makes it harder for him now is he cannot go back and have classified conversations with all the current leadership within the CIA, which are his close associates. So I think that's the real reason that John Brennan is so angry today at President Trump for having lost his clearance. OK, I liked a lot of what I heard but just help me understand the bridge again between the clearance and him being a Muslim? There's no there's nothing about the clearance in him being a Muslim

1:32:54 The Muslim thing is just second to this, is that he hand-picked all these people. They're all part of the same cadre. They might all be Muslims for all I know... But this Brennan guy is a bad guy! Yes, that's a parent and apparently everybody at the top of the CIA are all protégés And so we're not so we're and you still have that CIA versus the Trump Defense versus CIA against NSA. Uh-huh? And this all is just like from what intrigue now We knew we knew that Brennan was really nice to Gina Haskell In fact, we had a clip of that home on

1:33:40 Brennan, let's see if I have Brennan Gina. No how about Brennan Haskell? Let me try that and remember...I know we had a clip damn it okay can't find it but we had a clip of him being very very courteous towards her appointment as CIA director and there was someone else we had saying you know that she was his protegee as well. But Trump certainly knows who he's putting in there, doesn't he? Maybe he doesn't! I don't know... maybe he doesn't know nothing. He may have been hornswoggled. Hornswoggled?! This is a phrase from the Shays! Hornswaggled!? What does this mean? I dunno, I just made it up. Duped? Duped. He may have been duped.

1:34:30 That could have been, but it's not the CIA culture is not going to go anywhere with her at the top apparently. And these and then her henchmen surrounding the head of operation right? I don't know what they just he's gonna do if they have if this is a bit Brennan still somehow involved you may be violating his his various things that he signed off on. Who knows? I mean, I don't know. I just don't like the guy and I think he's... No, definitely a bad actor. Yeah, definitely. And he's working against the good of the country and you've never seen anybody complain so bitterly about their... A CIA guy after they retire they usually go away, shut up! They don't start making a scene. Well, he is trying to save the country in the world. For what? That's what he says

CHAPTER 30 / 45 Discussion

QAnon Movement, Reddit Ban Response

A listener note clarifies that the QAnon movement has migrated to 8chan following the ban of the "Great Awakening" subreddit. The movement is described by supporters as a "silent civil war" and a tool for critical thinking. The hosts acknowledge the "deeper layer of evil" often discussed within these communities.

qanon· reddit· 8chan· great awakening· serial brain 2

1:35:20 Because Trump, Trump! TRUMP!! That's why? Fine. We all know this... This is-this is- Anyway I just thought that was all good stuff You know this kind of plays into-I got a note from Jane Jane says, I am a quote normal mom of five who follows Q and need to let you know that Q does not post on Reddit and was not shut down like you reported on Sunday. So I just want to respond and say yeah we know that but if that was your takeaway i'm sorry obviously this is a discussion board on reddit the great awakening it's where q drops are discussed in proofs are posted

1:36:00 But she says the Great Awakening thread slash group and a few others were taken down which shut down a lot of Q commentary like from your favorite Serial Brain 2. But the Q Group posts on the 8chan board, and it's going strong for me Q connects the dots in areas that baffle you and John at times there is a deeper layer of evil that I know you know about I don't mean to joke because this silent civil war that's been going on since Trump won the presidency is real and Q has motivated so many to research and think critically. Thank you for wearing your Q goggles sometimes, it means everything to me all the best from Jane." So I do want to say that I think we're pretty aware of the overall bad and again this actually goes right back to the movie They Live. I'm pretty sure John and I agree that a version of that is going on...John?

CHAPTER 31 / 45 Discussion

FISA Declassification, Media Resistance

Mainstream journalists are criticized for opposing President Trump's plan to declassify FISA warrant documents. The hosts argue that genuine journalists should always favor transparency and suggest that those opposing it may be "paid agents" or part of Operation Mockingbird. A "B-list" of suspicious journalists, including Richard Engel and Paul Krugman, is proposed.

fisa· declassification· mockingbird· richard engel· paul krugman

1:36:53 Well, if you want to take it in the broadest strokes... Metaphorically speaking. Yeah there's a version going on for sure you can tell it by these people and you just watch the mainstream media when we're talking about... How about the redacted text messages? Journalists are saying no! We don't want to read The Scoops what is that all about?! Yes, this is a thing I pointed out in the newsletter and it's been pointed out by many a person. Trump is going to unclassify the FISA warrant and a whole bunch of other items And the journalists are all bent out of shape because they're...I don't know what they're afraid of? I think every one of them is a paid agent

1:37:43 And they're paid to say this because there's no journalist in his right mind that wouldn't want to see more and more and more. I mean, if you're a journalist, you want to get right in there or you want to see the secret documents? You wanna be able to analyze all of papers. Oh no! They are releasing more stuff for me unless your just lazy nobody is that lazy That actually makes you less lazy because here's the document, you don't even have to do any work. Just copy and paste! It's perfect for journalists So there are a couple of scary things here It's actually I find it scarier that the journalists may actually have been so brainwashed into not wanting for this to be released. That is absolutely possible, John! That it's just a complete amygdalitis and people have gone insane...it's possible or you know the matrix has been reprogrammed for some the simulation

1:38:41 Or as you say, they are lazy. Which no I that can't be true but then if they're really in Mockingbird and they're really on the payroll we need to make a list I'm sorry. I've been making a list all along, we do have some people on the list that are tenacious and liable... Who do you have on the list? And we need to call this The List! Because this is the clearest way so the list will contain people who either have mental issues as journos And we call it the LibJoe list. I love that, LibJoe list. Somebody register at libjoelist.com? It's not the LibJoe list! There are lots of LibJoes that aren't on the payroll. Okay... but alright. It can be the LibJoe list. Well, I need a name. We'll come up with something. Someone will figure something out. Suspicious fellow travelers

1:39:42 But that is so who's on you and your list? Who do you think is on the list of Richard angles one that comes to mind off the top of my head who, you know did that phony report where he was supposedly kidnapped or something. And then he was one of the guys who came out strongly against Dianne Feinstein wanting to release the torture report everybody who came out against the torture report being released to the public is one of these guys. I think that's too difficult, the idea is here is something very clear it's clearly something every journo wants to get their hands on The ones who are saying don't release the redacted information

1:40:33 They have to be on the payroll or yes, they mentally Troubled no. They're on the payroll They have to be why else would any more lazy because I just want to cover our bases you're either on the payroll Mentally troubled or lazy know that lazy thing doesn't apply cuz as I say, right? You're right makes just the opposite of what you're right. So there's only two spooks or sick I don't think there's two. Okay, Spooks so who is on the list? Who do we have now? We need to this is the time to compile it that's my point for this case and in this case only. Yeah you can't do during the show we just have to start looking at see who was bitching and moaning the most...I would say just off the top of my head I would probably put Paul Krugman on there uh I would look at all The New York Times guys and The Washington Post guys who are continually bitchin' and moan about the president

CHAPTER 32 / 45 Discussion

Global Climate Action Summit, Hurricane Severity Claims

At the Global Climate Action Summit, Governor Jerry Brown and Andrea Mitchell discussed the link between climate change and the severity of hurricanes like the one recently hitting North Carolina. The hosts dispute the scientific consensus presented, arguing that storm frequency has not increased as predicted. The shift in terminology from "global warming" to "climate change" is noted as a tactical move.

jerry brown· andrea mitchell· climate change· hurricanes· north carolina

1:41:29 And if they bitch and moan about him releasing this stuff in any way, in any way. Hey, should be on the list. We can call it the B-list I like that. The B-list is kind of good. Behold! All right. I'm reading troll room onward to something from your state which I thought you would have covered this? I'm very happy don't have these clips because I got them This was an extraordinary, extraordinary example... yes exhibit of words do matter. How a story as big as climate change and man-made climate change anthropogenic global warming global warming itself but anthropogenic global warming man made climate change has now morphed into just climate change

1:42:20 But which is a disservice to anyone viewing these programs that pass themselves off as news. Because the issue is not climate change, there's not so much a denial of the climate changing, there's denial of what causes it but when you shorten that and do a disservice and then when you take it down they're not saying CO2 would just carbon It becomes really...not the truth anymore And Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC sat down with Jerry Brown at the global climate thing Al Gore's What is it called? I have no idea. Yeah, it's the it's the Climate something or other climate troll room truth The chemtrails summit this is the chemtrail summit So they're they're all there and they're all chatting They got you know, they got two actors and it's very much like the book

1:43:20 State of fear very very very similar to we got California's you know burning down We got North Carolina get all the stuff happening so Andrea Mitchell is going to just assert all these truths Stop stop. He has to be on the list because she is the one of those people that hello bitch about Trump's releasing the document Yes, she is a way on the list So she sits down with your governor Jerry Brown and And just, I mean you really have to listen. The words matter you have to listen to the way they're talking about what should be man-made climate change anthropogenic global warming it's hard to say but as a news person and the governor you've got to be a little accurate. Oh those mistakes they made! Yes

1:44:04 And listen to her lip smacking too, it's disgusting. California Governor Jerry Brown announcing late Friday in the face of global warming and climate change and what he calls a lack of federal response that the state is going to send its own satellite into orbit. It's the Global Climate Action Conference. Conference is what it is John not the summit, the conference. Okay we're back to Andrea of a federal response that the state of California is going to send its own satellite into orbit. To track the progress of climate change I love that little flub there, to trap- I mean track the progress of climate change? I'm not quite sure why but i just like it. Of California is going to send its own satellite into orbit to trap...track the progress of climate change which of course is causing hurricanes to be stronger and more severe

1:44:57 Just so you know, climate change which of course is why hurricanes are more severe and everything's just horrible. Which is not true we haven't had as many storms as we used to 15 years ago Florida has been on constant watch yeah we get a doozy from time to time but no No just listen to this non-truth This is not proven Progress of climate change which of course is causing hurricanes to be stronger and more severe. When was this asserted, John? That's a scientific fact. That was asserted right after Katrina, after one whopper they said oh is this going to be this is normal now every year it's gonna happen two or three of these things and then nothing for 10 years most of this show and now we have the new phenomenon I wish I had a clip of there's a guy going on about... Oh yeah! The new thing is these hurricanes because we have two in a row that were kind of like this

1:45:51 Not the ones that hit China by any means, but we had this two in a row. One of them that goes it kind of craps out to say is like five is four or three and then it craps out right on top of some town and dumps a shitload of water. This what happened in North Carolina. Oh here comes us at five its gonna be worse than five and four three two one and it dumps water And now the thing is this guy heard this guy going on Well, what we've determined is this is going to be the way it is from now on. These storms don't they don't have the guy gonna pack a wallop except water and what we figured out is that because of the warm ocean and the warm ocean by the way was always used to say all the war motion's gonna create violent storms cause it's all his energy It's gonna be sucked up by the hurricane. It's gonna drop it all over but no No Not anymore The warm water is gonna put a lot of water in this system. Yes craps out

1:46:45 It's gonna dump all this water from the warm ocean onto the town. These guys, they just keep changing it. I mean it's like my mudflats which have been here for a hundred years is because that was if you remember this one would turn out that Australia some sort of a massive sponge that has been soaking up extra water come on does anybody see through this nonsense? No no stock market analysis producer Joe says he was caught in Gangzhou for mangkut Does that sound like where the typhoon was? Maybe. He says, got about 70 mile an hour winds pieces of metal roof flying around interesting thing was the difference in fear mongering no attempt to evacuate local people would giggle when you'd asked to take any kind of precaution like buying water or a hotel room not facing the storm there were couple hours power failure at its worst says Joe I'm not quite sure where he was

CHAPTER 33 / 45 Discussion

Jerry Brown, Trump as "Climate Saboteur"

Governor Jerry Brown labeled President Trump a "saboteur" and "exemplar of climate negligence" during an interview at the climate summit. Brown expressed concern that Trump's withdrawal from the Paris Agreement encourages other nations to ignore environmental standards. The hosts mock Brown's use of elitist language and his difficulty in finding appropriate adjectives for the President.

jerry brown· donald trump· paris agreement· climate negligence· elitism

1:47:42 But he didn't see it was such a big deal. Let's continue now with Andrea and Jerry at the climate conference because they do speak, they do address a lot of what you just mentioned which is causing hurricanes to be stronger and more severe I talked to Jerry Brown at his global climate action summit late Friday. Summit! They say summit, you're right! State local and world leaders We're in the midst of hurricanes and the aftermath of hurricanes, and you still have the president United States denying the science of climate change. How do you counteract that? Here she says denying the science of climate change. That is such an abbreviation. Am I just fucking with this or is this really not OK? It's not okay. You are a little bit but not to an extreme. This has been going on but it's like

1:48:30 These people are grasping at straws. Yeah, let's listen. Just like the guy that magician keeps the plates in you know spinning... And he is keeping all the plates in the air to What's the word I even have an adjective so it amazing we have an entire list of Adjectives on the rotation he can't come up with one your governor Can't come with one shitty thing to say about Trump like that, but he's in some love somebody other

1:49:19 What's the word? He's going to say terrible. He can't come up with anything! Adjectives, so it's bad and how he counteracted is with this climate summit with normal people respecting the truth and communicating that with other normal people in combating the president of United States in what are lies distortions and quite frankly bizarre behavior. So we have to keep at it, I'm glad you gave me a chance to answer your question because we can't say it enough the president is just wrong. I am so concerned for you. You live in California walking around with that attitude what you just heard your governor says you're not normal people are going go like it's Dvorak he's not normal! Nobody in California is normal thats kind of the beauty of it

1:50:16 Let's listen to some more from climate expert Governor Jerry Brown. The hurricanes are more severe, the wildfires are more severe, the storm surge is worse because sea levels are rising Talk to me about what we're physically experiencing here in United States and around the world that proves that everyone who predicted this would happen was correct. Well I would say... She is just saying random things like fires are hotter, rain is wetter. You know prove to me that everyone who said this would happen was on the money and right!

1:50:55 But that's not scientific, what she is saying there. We're just experiencing the very early beginnings of climate change The forest fires in California which are worse than any other time recorded in history It really just unfortunately it's the beginning but as the carbon builds up and builds up very rapidly we'll have more droughts, more fires, more storms More intense storms, more trouble More trouble is more migration. We're gonna have people moving from their land that will no longer produce enough food Yeah to Austin so the world leaders wake up now the exit from the Paris climate agreement isn't official and Binding till 2020 did you know that this is news to me? I didn't know that the exit isn't official until 2020 How does that work? I have no idea

1:51:50 I don't know what she's talking about. What she is saying is that apparently, and Jerry knows that's the way she sounds, that pulling out of the climate accord isn't official like we haven't actually broken anything until we pay the bill. It's like, well 2020 there is a bill that shows up and we don't pay it then I guess we're really out. Moving from their land that will no longer produce enough food so the world leaders have got to wake up Now the exit from Paris Climate Agreement isn't official and binding till 2020

1:52:26 But what is the impact already internationally of the United States having said we're out of it? So Trump is an enabler. We often hear that term, enabler He's in a neighbor of climate negligence and climate avoidance Why can't he say denying why doesn't he what's this is that oh It's politically incorrect I guess in California to say climate denier because that might mean something about Jews or There's some rule in California, there is some politically correct rule. No it's just him the guy is a decenile Oh okay I'll take that too He just can't come up with a word like climate... He couldn't come up with a word to describe Trump but he could have said an orange faced Cheeto head

1:53:17 He's a climate negligence. Climate avoidance. Well in my brain, climate negligence... No wait, climate avoidance! I know i'll get it right one of these days So that's what bad about it because we have to make sure all these other countries Whether it's Russia or Poland or South America. Wait a minute, all these other countries Russia or Poland or South America what is wrong with him? He's going off the rails he's going nuts. Jerry Brown hello! So that's what bad about it because we have to make sure that all these other countries whether its Russia or Poland or South America, Brazil whatever everybody has got to step up

1:54:04 and the President of the United States should be the cheerleader, the exemplar. And instead he's this saboteur. Oh! Saboteur... He is a saboteur. He should be the exemplar except these- This is how elitists talk. Who was he trying to connect with? He is an exemplar. He should be the exemplar instead he says saboter. He said it should be an exemplar. You should be an exemplar not a saboter. That's not English Jerry that's not how you connect with people Exemplar. Call him the Cheeto head, that seems to work. Alright. The cheeto head's better Then he goes to what I think is just a pure threat As governor how do you feel when the president of United States says that nearly 3,000 people did not die in Puerto Rico This is my favorite lie from Andrea

CHAPTER 34 / 45 Discussion

Puerto Rico Death Toll, Political Conspiracy Claims

The dispute over the Hurricane Maria death toll in Puerto Rico is framed by the media as Trump "denying dead bodies." The hosts argue the 3,000 figure is based on a statistical study of "excess deaths" rather than direct casualties. Governor Jerry Brown's comments are interpreted by the hosts as a veiled threat or a call for Trump's removal from office.

puerto rico· hurricane maria· donald trump· andrea mitchell· death toll

1:54:53 Instead of saying there's a discrepancy of what people died from, because the people died. Everyone agrees that almost 3,000 people died. The question is since they were the same almost... A difference of 64 between the previous year did everyone die because of Maria? And that was done through a scientific study by going past houses and say hey did you die cause of the hurricane And that's, we have... if you go to search.na show notes you can find the documents so now but now it just become nobody died! Says that nearly 3,000 people did not die in Puerto Rico even though it was a result of scientific study and says that is was a democratic conspiracy to claim all these deaths Well the problem is we... Am I crazy? Do I just hear this in different way than most people

1:55:44 What? I mean if you haven't really thought about it and you heard Andrea Mitchell say this, You'd think that Trump was denying actual dead bodies. Yeah But that's what she is saying yeah! Yeah but... That's not the truth No of course its not none of this has been the truth In fact we just all we do is track this sort of thing Sad podcasting Conspiracy to claim all these deaths Well the problem is we never had a president Hold on stop there another new element Okay Did he say it was a conspiracy to claim all these deaths? She said... No, Trump claims that it's a conspiracy. A democratic conspiracy. Oh let me hear him! And says that is was a democratic conspiracy to claim all these deaths. Ohhh, he never said that no! He said it was a democratic conspiracy to claim all these deaths. He never said that! No she's full of crap

1:56:38 But you know what? They just pumped these memes out like there's no tomorrow. Yeah, but this is not credible and this is damaging because it's misinformation. People believe it! Well, the problem is we never had a president who was engaged in this kind of behavior. I mean he's not telling the truth He keeps changing his mind. He's you know sabotaging the world order in many respects so it's unprecedented. He's sabotaging the world order in many respects California, well in many respects. Many of them you know there's this one is that one the one over there on the wall? There are many respects! He keeps changing his mind he's a you know sabotaging the world order in many respects so it's unprecedented its dangerous and hopefully this election is going to send a strong message for the country the Democrats will win and then Trump

1:57:36 Well, something's got to happen to this guy because if we don't get rid of him he is going undermine America and even the world. Something has gotta happen to this guy if we don't get rid of him What? Arrest that man! That seems like a threat the secret service should be looking into Arrest that man! That's not okay Wow, let's do that again. Trump... Well somethings gotta happen to this guy because if we don't get rid of him he is going to undermine America and even the world Something has gotta be done, someone has gotta get rid of this guy.

1:58:14 Listen again. I have to reload it hold on went all the way to the end say into the clip To the country the Democrats will win and then Trump Well, something's gonna happen this guy someone's gotta happen to this guy or something's gotta or something's gonna The Democrats will win and then Trump Well, something's gonna happen in this thing says gotta gotta not Not gonna. And it makes sense in context, something's gotta happen to this guy... The Democrats will win and then Trump uh well somethings gotta happen to this guy because if we don't get rid of him Because if we don't get rid of him He is going undermine America and even the world He must die! This what the guy is threatening him

1:58:59 Unless it's a call for arms. I mean, there's a lot more of a car call for arms Alex Jones Alex Jones saying if you got a gun next to your bed and I have to pick it up All right Unverified Jerry Brown we don't recognize anymore This is crazy You guys see you gotta die so that I will That's that's just that's unhinged man I don't care who says it, about which president. That's just unhinged. And we do have a few people to thank for show 1070 including and starting with Sir Donald Barofsky he is the

Sweden Election, Volvo and Social Services

Feedback from a Swedish producer clarifies the political landscape following the recent election, noting that the Swedish Democrats are becoming more mainstream. The discussion debunks the myth of "everything is free" in Scandinavia, revealing that dental care and eye care are largely private in Sweden and Denmark. The quality of Volvo cars is also briefly debated.

2:07:02 Well, how about that? Out of habit I hit the birthday jingle and we have no birthdays for today. Happy Birthday Nobody from The No Agenda Show! That was a fail... We do however have a night-a one nighting so if you can grab your best blade for uh... Hello? Yeah guys over here on the right side of the room Okay, I got it My goodness. All right. And mutton and mead go to noagendanation.com slash rings Eric The Shill will be happy to provide you With everything once you give him your ring size. Nice little set of things you've got going on there So this little guy is a kid's toy It's actually not for me Unlike all the other stuff? Hey listen to this, I got some feedback i want to share You gotta stop the noise makers On Sweden so yeah because we have been tracking what went on with Sweden with the election We've been listening to these guys with the Deconstructif podcast

2:09:07 Which we like, we like what they're saying. They taught us about the 16 thousand carbecues a year and so we got a little pushback from Emil but I want to share what he said. He says it's sweet, I have some thoughts about the comments on previous shows first of all Have taught me a lot about how to think of what you guys have taught me A lot about how to think about the news in the media The podcast guys who played from Sweden have a lot of good points But you have to realize they are a bit Alex Jones actually says Alex Johns, which is kind of funny but I think we kind of realized that that you know or at least we were open to the idea that they were pretty radical certainly for Sweden and

2:09:49 He says, the shithole country. Yeah guy is buying into the doom and some gloom scenario he says yes Swedish Democrats are more or less a cross between the moderate and the Social Democrats The only thing is they are harder on the immigration question but in the months running up to the election the social Democrat Party became a little more mainstream And then the S&M party... wait they have an SNM party? I was not aware of this. This sounds like a fun party! The S&M Party started to say that they would go towards less immigration if you look at Sweden with the no agenda lens yeah we're a shithole country and shit hole Europe in the shit whole world we do have a party called the liberals and they are afraid of Russian intervention and want us to join NATO and the new world order police by the way i work at Volvo, we still do make great cars

2:10:39 I think that may have been the issue all along. Oh, yeah Well, I wasn't insulting Yeah, that wasn't me that would that was our no That was our one of our producers wrote that in not me Okay, I didn't insult them about the boy. I've been looking at Volvos said something like oh yeah That's a car that is a really cool cars if you're over 50 I did not say that Did not somebody did? No, I didn't say that No, our producers said that they don't come with a temperature gauge anymore or dipstick. Well that's most car... well it's not true my car does have a Lexus pump. It is pretty old but still modern Lexus with hot V8. Yeah baby! Hot V8! I want to talk about your Lexus in a minute but first to finish this up we were shocked and just shocked to hear that dental is not free in Sweden. This is not what we've been told

2:11:38 And guess what? No dental in Denmark either. Wow! And 75% of the bill for glasses and eye care is also private. What?! Isn't this the super cool Denmark, Sweden, Scandinavia everything's free high taxes? Everything is free. No it was not true. Then what are they doing with all their money? Spending it on their teeth. They usually have good teeth. I mean talking about the tax money. Oh. What are you doing with the tax money? Hey, I don't know. So the... Let me see where is this? Yes BBC World Service now you're 20 year old Lexus You know it's older than that by now isn't how old is that thing 25 years old I can almost get an antique California antique plate Well let me tell you want to hang on to this because I think that not you know him from the future and I got and move into a little bit of OTG here By the way I must say

CHAPTER 37 / 45 Discussion

Minimalist Phones, Punkt MPO2 Launch

The Punkt MPO2, a minimalist Swiss-designed phone, is highlighted as a status symbol for those seeking to disconnect from "smartphone mania." The device focuses on calling and texting while providing an LTE hotspot for other devices. The hosts discuss the growing trend of "off the grid" (OTG) technology as a display of success.

punkt· minimalist phone· mpo2· lte hotspot· digital detox

2:12:41 that I have discovered in Europe having an OTG phone and usually a small classy looking one is seen as a What's the word I'm looking for? It's cool. No, no no it seen as a display of success You've made it you don't have this you have just the phone for important people calling you maybe a text message That's not so you're not just hanging on the phone all time like some lose Yes, it is seen as a display of success I'm liking this. And it makes sense because and i'm so, i'm so disappointed... It came out probably the day we left this company Punkt P-U-N-K-T in Switzerland came out with the MPO2 which is a minimalist phone just does calling you can do text messaging its beautifully designed it has no calendar notepad alarm and then one thing it has it isn't LTE hotspot

2:13:41 So you have everything you need. You text for important texts, you've got your calling features if you need a reminder calendar and probably not connected calendar and alarm And then you have your laptop if you needed or your tablet or your Surface Go And then pop, turn it into a hotspot. That's how that is that portray success. How do you spell this punked? Punked yeah Papa Uniform November Kilo Tango It's I think is very pretty phone and I got to designer consumers punk top rated cordless phones cordless phone no no no there it is what are called the MPO2 Yeah that's the one

2:14:26 Okay, I'm looking at it now. Do you think? I think it looks pretty stylish or to be launching the design festival It's just new we just came out. It's gonna go coming out in London as a design festival 349 bucks pre-orders available now see I told you pre orders take the caisir is this better deal well for me But I don't know I mean I liked the idea of just of just a hotspot I'm still loving this. But doesn't the Kyocera provide a hotspot? Yes, but because it's an unlocked GSM AT&T phone... The hotspot feature, I can't get it to work. I think there is something hard-coded in there so yeah I know sucks. Someone from Kyocera listening to this podcast should help us! Please because I really like the phone and so many people So here they're like wow Curry has really made it look at that phone

2:15:15 I'm not kidding. Yeah, I'm sure you're not kidding. The world's upside down man! No man...I picked the hits baby So back to the car so this is my whole point from the future there's going to be a fantastic we have to either get Lexis which I think is the plural of Lexus, or we need to get Volkswagen bugs or something but people are going to want cars that are not like the ones that the BBC World Service is talking about being created in Europe. Media giants dominate our lives at home and at work now they're encroaching on the connectedness we all appear to love

CHAPTER 38 / 45 Discussion

Connected Cars, Google and Renault Alliance

Google has partnered with the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance to integrate Android-based systems into millions of vehicles. The move aims to provide drivers with seamless connectivity and voice-activated features like Google Assistant. The hosts express concern over the "Matrix-like" constant connection and the potential for data privacy and cybersecurity breaches in the automotive industry.

google· renault· nissan· mitsubishi· android auto

2:15:55 on the roads. Google is to partner with Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi which is the largest auto alliance in the world in terms of sales... Mitsubushi? Mitsubushi! ...to put Android-based systems into millions of cars Peter Campbell is The Financial Times newspaper's motor industry correspondent Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi together are the world's largest car maker. They made just over 10 million vehicles last year sold all over the world and for them to start installing Google technology in their cars means that their consumers will be able to use more Google functions in future they'll be able to activate certain parts of the car using their voice so we're going to use Google Maps that helps Renault Nissan Mitsubishi hopefully sell more vehicles because people want to buy them cause they've got this connected technology

2:16:37 But also it helps Google get more people using its systems. So for both the manufacturer and for Google here, it's seen as a win-win deal. Tell us about the technology that we're talking about here? What is it going to be able to do? What we do know is they are going to be Google voice assistants so what you currently find on its Pixel phones or home systems will go into their cars that means you can activate certain parts of the car using your voice, you can probably turn the music up or down. You can now activate the air conditioning maybe open the sunroof and in future they'll start building other functions using Google's technology as well to put into the car there will also be new apps that could be developed

2:17:14 to be used in the car. The ultimate aim in this is that people can still have the same level of connectivity while driving, that they have while walking around with their mobile phone because what people hate most of all when they're used to using a mobile phone almost all the time is to feel like they're being unplugged when they're driving. Is what we're talking about a race with... Seriously? You know what John I think it's true! I think it's true. You think the epidemic of cell phone mania and just this disorder of people walking around looking at their phones, oh my god go to a couple of airports! Go to the train station! Just walk on the street... The zombies are among us It is very very very bad we've become the ultimate wet wear now Oh gotta stay justice connected when you're in the car To me it's no different from The Matrix you know the thing goes on the back of your neck

2:18:02 You're connected. Because what people hate most of all when they're used to using their mobile phone almost all the time is to feel like they are being unplugged when they are driving And even use the same terminology Is what we talking about a race within the industry as well? because there are other manufacturers who doing similar things Ford and VW Yes, that's absolutely right. Lots of manufacturers are trying to install connected features in their vehicles I mean increasingly people aren't buying cars on the basis of horsepower or performance or anything else what they want is a car as connected as possible and so Renault Nissan Mitsubishi you want 90% of all their vehicles to be connected to the internet by 2022

2:18:41 And a lot of other companies have similar ambitions. Ford is working with Amazon's Elexa to install that in all of its new cars as well." Oh no, this has to stop! We're gonna have reverse... The Alexa in the car? Yes! Oh brother… But we need to have like reverse options take that out but you know they won't let you. You know they won't let you Thank goodness the BBC during this clear automobile advertisement at least put some journalistic integrity into it and said, hey does anyone mind? When you talk to people in the industry do you get a sense that they are picking up at all on any anxiety in terms of the dominance of Amazon and Google. Anxiety on the dominance of Amazon

2:19:34 Yeah, it's creepy lady. Society in terms of the dominance of Amazon and Google you know we are now connected in our homes and our workplaces and now in our cars? Well there is a very two very real considerations that come from this one is around data people are naturally cautious about what happens to their data No they're not! And then there's also the consideration of hacking and cyber security as cars become increasingly more connected to the internet, that opens a huge number of attack possibilities for people trying to get into the vehicles. And so a lot of the considerations around installing new technology also have to take that into account and that's certainly an area that the car industry itself is not used to dealing with. I am the voice of Professor Ted this will not end well. That's terrible

CHAPTER 39 / 45 Discussion

Automotive Black Boxes, Insurance Tracking

John Hancock Financial announced it will stop selling traditional life insurance in favor of "interactive" policies that track fitness data via wearables. This "Vitality" program incentivizes healthy behavior but raises concerns about future rate hikes for non-participants. The hosts compare this to automotive "black boxes" used by governments and insurers to monitor driving habits for tax and penalty purposes.

john hancock· life insurance· black box· data tracking· vitality program

2:20:30 It's what people want. I think a lot of people do want exactly what he said is they went to the little, they love the Alexis you might as well have it in the car. Alexis and Alexis. So i think there will be a demand medium term for cars that just never had this crap built into it in the first place There will also... Well, I think there's a demand for cars that don't have the black box. Yes! All of this stuff and I believe there is- There is a black box. There's a black..I'm gonna do my spiel. Do your spiel. Spiel away. The black box which is in the car to see you know they bring it out once well if you got into an accident we look at we found the black box again was speeding one of these days when the tax revenues start to dry up and it could start to dry up at any point

2:21:21 It's drying up now in a lot of places. They're gonna take and they're gonna, especially in California where they really do the best to gouge everyone... When you go into get your smog check You're gonna up the ante and they're going to look at the black box and say, you know, go to a computer. It'll analyze your driving habits and everything you've been doing it will find the places you've been speeding that the places you went through red light or everything. And they're going to give you a bunch of tickets after the fact. You'll get a packet full of tickets for all the mistakes you made, all times your speeding, all the times your doing anything and then you also need to pay 100 bucks to get your smog thing checked and that's what good- that's the future it seems to be! That's the only reason you have all this-all these gizmos in the car so there is a way to tax you first you know posthumously speeding

2:22:19 An element of these predictions, which we have made over the course of many years in this program has come true. From Reuters I share with you the article from September 19th John Hancock one of the oldest and largest North American life insurers will stop underwriting traditional life insurance and instead sell only interactive policies that track fitness and health data through wearable devices and smartphones This is a 156 year old insurance company and they are now, let me see I have a quote here somewhere. Policyholders score premium discounts for hitting exercise targets tracked on wearable devices such as Fitbit or Apple Watch and get gift cards for retail stores and other perks by logging their workouts in healthy food purchases in an app this is what we call wetwear the CEO said oh I'm sorry I made that up

2:23:18 Not really. In theory, everybody wins as policyholders are incentivized to adopt healthy habits and insurance companies collect more premiums... You will obey! ...and pay less in claims if customers live longer. And of course there's the obligatory privacy and consumer advocates and podcasters have raised questions about whether insurers may eventually use data to select the most profitable customers while hiking rates for those who do not participate I'm shocked someone would think that. The insurance industry has said it is heavily regulated and must justify in actuarial terms its reasons for any rate increases or policy changes We know that Volkswagen wasn't fudging around with their data, with their little limiters there when they were testing for their emissions No this never happens

2:24:11 So they are, let's see. They will be here... It is too early for John Hancock to determine if it is paying fewer claims because of its vitality program. This what they're calling the vitality program. Customers do not have to log their activities to get coverage even though their policies are packaged with the vitality program. The insurer will begin converting existing life insurance policies to vitality in 2019 so there's no getting away from it You need to be tracked. And no coincidence, we get the brand new Apple Watch coming out and CNBC did a review and I just got the piece that was most relevant

CHAPTER 40 / 45 Discussion

Apple Watch Series 4, Health Monitoring Features

The Apple Watch Series 4 features a larger screen, fall detection, and a built-in EKG monitor. Apple refers to its on-screen app widgets as "complications," a term the hosts find peculiar. While marketed as a life-saving health tool, the device is criticized as a "Borg" instrument for constant user tracking and robot maintenance.

apple watch· ekg· fall detection· watchos 5· complications

2:24:57 I'm sorry, you are becoming an actual Borg with this device. The larger screens allow you to see more through what Apple calls complications... I love this new speak too Yes We call them complications since when that basically it's a little piece of an app that runs on the on the watch face and they have To call it a complication Why is that? You're asking me? Yeah, I'm asking you. The word complicates a very odd choice of name I don't know anyone who's analyzed it yet. Of course not. The larger screens allow you to see more through what Apple calls complications or the apps that run on each watch face That means you can see the weather, the battery life, create a workout, your heart rate See the UV index and more all from a single watch face It's really cool Yeah! Cool! It's really cool All this stuff... It's really cool man Really cool Like it's all these things on the Watch Face

2:25:57 So cool. The larger screens also make reading text, looking at photos and more much easier. And despite the larger screen size it didn't feel bulky around my wrist when I was wearing it. What? He says looking at photos it makes it easier to look at photos. How is it easy to look at a photo with that thing, in other words your idea of a photo as one inch by one inch? Oh its bigger than that the screen is much bigger than 1 inch by 1 inch those are just thumbnails he told you in the beginning the things 4 inches I don't know like a four-inch. Four inches? The thing would be like you can use it as a club

2:26:38 Hey look, we all laughed about the iPad as a big phone okay? People will wear anything from Apple on their wrist. As long as it tracks them and shows them cool... You wanna see my photos?! Look at my photos! You have to see this video because you see like a thumbnail grid of six different photos And oh brother hold it up to his face like this look how cool. It's really cool It's easier to look at photos and meanwhile, you're holding your wrist up the whole time It's very tiring do this for a long while all right Let's continue despite the larger screen size it didn't feel bulkier on my wrists when I was wearing it throughout The day or while working out There are couple others

2:27:15 I have so many lewd thoughts about what he just said. Oh, that's so important! He's standing in his office and he holds up a... talks to his watch. Hey Siri Boo on the Jets game last night. It's really it's I mean this is sad Is if people are really buying into this just sad and Apple move the microphone So when you place a phone call You can hear every we can hear you better now through apples watch them We moved the microphone to a better spot it's easier for the recipient to hear you

2:27:54 Apple sent me the Series 4 model with cellular connectivity and GPS. This is what we need, we need you to wear this watch it has cellular connectivity and GPS but it's just for your benefit Honest engine which means I had a data connection even when my phone wasn't around nice that let me listen to podcasts and messages call people Wait man, there's much more. There's much more man way sick all in my phone was left at home Apple made another improvement the cellular connectivity is better because it's switched to ceramic which allows for the signal to travel to the watch easier even when you're wearing it. So we'll know your location even if we don't have a GPS signal! The Apple Watch Series 4 also runs watchOS 5, Apple's new watch software, which is coming to older devices as well. Wow! WatchOS 5 can automatically detect when you start some workouts

2:28:47 It can automatically detect when you start a workout or, y'know... Workout? Wink wink. So if you go to the gym and jump on the elliptical it might automatically recognize that your starting to move This is not creepy Speaking of workouts, I'm always trying to earn badges on the Apple Watch. And now you can have 7 day competitions against friends! Yeah... Now you're talking Get the robots playing against each other Rock em sock em robot! I wasn't able to test this because i don't have any friends with the new apple watch Don't worry You don't have any friends loser! You wouldn't have any friends if your doing this report But I'm looking forward to trying it the Apple watch series 4 also has automatic slip and fall detection Which means if you slip or fall, it'll automatically contact emergency services. If you don't say that your okay Yeah, if you slip or fall their watch is gonna say hey are you alright? And if you don't respond it will call 9-1-1. I mean this this is robot maintenance

2:29:47 This is ridiculous. Finally, there's a new EKG or electrocardiogram that exists in the digital crown. It's not available yet and Apple is going to activate it later this year with a software update but when it is active you can touch the crown and get a full EKG that you can download through PDF and send your doctor. If you are wearing this device you're insane!

2:30:27 No way, man. There's tons of people that wear it okay the screen is 1.57 by one point seven eight inches. That's pretty big! Well it's an inch and a half by an inch and a half roughly inch and three quarters. It's you know I guess you could look at a photo...I don't know what kind of details you can see? It's not the way I want to look at my photos on a little watch doesn't make any sense They just got these guys, these people are idiots. It's unbelievable and a lot of them will wear the watch because it is prestigious Look what I got! The new Apple Series 4 Watch I will say that i saw alot of apple watches on our trip Alot, alot of apple watches And windows phones Not at the same time That was Italy

2:31:27 There's not much you can do. It's the end of the world as we know it, as a song goes. That's true Hey Did you see what Google is doing with what they're talking about? Talking now that they talk about doing in the browser and Chrome No They want to completely hide parts of the URL so now you know if it's www they'll remove that. Oh yeah, they want to get rid of www You know what this is? It's part of the takeover of the web Yeah and eventually I don't what they want They want to go to keywords And bring us right back to AOL Yeah! They should buy AOL Betcha Verizon will sell it to them cheap O-off or whoever bought it But people are blind

CHAPTER 41 / 45 Discussion

Hillary Clinton, "What Happened" Paperback Tour

Hillary Clinton appeared on the Rachel Maddow Show to promote the paperback release of her book *What Happened*. She predicted that President Trump will engage in "wholesale firing" of administration officials after the midterms and expressed fear that he might reject the 2020 election results. The hosts view these comments as a sign she is preparing for another presidential run.

hillary clinton· rachel maddow· 2020 election· firing· what happened

2:32:17 I'd be very bad if you, if the trend becomes let's hide the URL. And it is also insulting! You're too stupid! You get fooled by little misspellings, you stupid, stupid, stupid dumb person! Maybe I'm reading a little bit too much into it but that's how I do feel Well, talking about stupid dumb persons. So I guess Hillary upgraded her book to the new massively fantastic segues on this show. You nailed it right there my friend! Her new paperback version of her book is out so she's on tour She went on Rachel Maddow Show Ah nice after the lesbian show she went on Rachel Maddow Okay? So she goes on Rachel Maddow and talks about that And there are two things that were interesting now somebody sent me this clip or link to the clip

2:33:07 because apparently Rachel or Hillary said, finger in the dike. Very funny! I'll acknowledge that as okay but that wasn't the reason i clipped it though Because I, yeah okay it wasn't just kind of a Beavis and Butthead type thing. Yeah exactly but i got this is interesting she's added a couple of interesting things let's start with this one this is Hillary on Maddow and the firing comments because I don't think that those people really fully appreciate what is potentially possible under this presidency

2:33:45 What I worry about, Rachel is that after this election this president's going to wholesale fire people. That's my prediction for tonight like my prediction from last year and if we don't have one or both houses of Congress in place He will be even more uncontrollable and unaccountable. He will fire people in the White House, he will fire people in his administration who he thinks are crossing him questioning him undermining him and I think about all of the hours I spent in a situation room with President Obama and we had vigorous disagreements about all kinds of issues but I never ever ever doubted

2:34:27 that the president was making the best decision he could based on the facts and evidence as we were required to present it to him. Hitler. But the way she presents this about her calm demeanor and about when she was in the room there with Obama, it's cool as a cue She is running for president again in 2020 people you Democrats get used to this I wanted to mention that we have that whole women lesbians who do tech

2:35:12 conference, that whole half hour interview. Now the question that wasn't asked which I think is something anyone would have come up with hey are you planning on running? Didn't ask! Maybe off the table as a question yeah possible possible But here's the one, this is the little tidbit she's got going on here and this is an eye roller. And this harkens back to pretty much every president Nixon was gonna do this and Bush was gonna do this and Obama was gonna do this everybody was gonna do this and apparently it plays well to come up with this bull crap

2:35:53 and frighten the public. And God, what are we going to do? Your prediction can happen after the election of the president wholesale filing firing people I should say one of the other things that is in the book is a very troubling discussion and prospect that you raised, that in 2020 President Trump will reject the results of the election or even try to postpone the election. Your treatment of that gives me the willies now even referring to it but I will leave it to people to read the book to see what she had to say about that thank you for coming and I know you have every option where to go and I really appreciate thanks here enjoying you good luck appreciate it thanks all right we'll be right back stay with us She's got the willies because she knows this is possible that crazy maniac Trump, he's gonna negate when the elections come through. He says, hey, this isn't good I'm staying in here as president. This is the lamest fear that public has ever had about any of these presidents and they feel this way about every one of them but apparently Trump is just very believable

CHAPTER 42 / 45 Discussion

Beto O'Rourke, Texas Senate Campaign

Representative Beto O'Rourke's Senate campaign against Ted Cruz in Texas is gaining significant media attention and drawing large crowds. The hosts note that "Beto" is a nickname for Robert Francis O'Rourke and discuss his "savior status" among Texas Democrats. The campaign is compared to Barack Obama's 2008 "Hope and Change" movement.

beto o'rourke· ted cruz· texas· senate· robert francis

2:36:54 The Democratic Party is pushing another trial balloon in Texas, Ben. I think it was pretty evidenced by CNN's report of Beto. Have you been following the Beto? A little bit but not as much as that would give me a clip so no. Okay say no well the Beto first all the Beto Which I was corrected by the former New York banker who was at some fundraiser for him. But I said, Beto how's that Beto O'Rourke guy doing you got on the sign in your yard? He says it's Bet-O alright his name is Robert Francis this is nickname is Bet-O because when you hear Beto honestly

2:37:38 Kind of like Ted Cruz, I'm like oh maybe he's got some Latin in him or something. But he really is a white guy He's very very white. Can people get just... Is he a Democrat or Republican? Democrat! Oh huge democrat yeah. Can you just change.. can we just print something with the same color and put a P where the B is It's hard to believe a Democratic Senate candidate in Texas can turn out more than 1,000 people to a rockin' lunchtime rally. But Beto O'Rourke has this sea of sweaty voters energized. We are gonna do this. Polls show O'Rourke within striking distance of Republican Senator Ted Cruz Beto has reached peak savior status among Texas Democrats Peak, peak savior status John People are really really yearning for something like this She is ultimate extreme supporter I'm the wonder woman for Beto We're making this happen Even the Beto faithful admit winning this race is still the longest of long shots

2:38:40 But they hear the distant echoes of Obama's 2008 Hope and Change campaign. Just before he went on stage for his third rally of this day, O'Rourke told us that he doesn't feel the pressure to save Democrats. We just all get that this is the election of our lifetimes. Everything is on a line. Stakes cannot be any higher and we're meeting the moment. Meeting the moment. Obama doesn't shy away from pushing a progressive agenda in this red state, he talks of improving education immigration reform providing universal health care criminal justice reform and they're frustrated frankly with people like me and a recent speech supporting NFL players who kneel for the national anthem went viral catching the attention of celebrities and athletes around the country doing it I can think of nothing more American than to peacefully stand up or take a knee

2:39:32 Something is happening on this campaign trail. But then again, Texas Democrats have been here before they've seen a few Democratic stars burn brightly in elections past raising the hopes of a blue wave then election days turn those stars into dust Will the same story repeat itself this year? Oh my god I don't know hope not Beto Richard Francis Robert Francis Robert Francis was the bed-owned name come from I don't know Let me see if it says let me consult the book of knowledge. Let me see Robert Francis betto o'rourke born September 26 72 an American politician, but native of El Paso and

2:40:13 United States House of Representatives in 2012 That doesn't say where you got the Oh Spanish. Oh, here we go Maybe I was wrong He was nicknamed Beto which is a common Spanish nickname for Roberto His name is Robert again Well before kindergarten his father was a pool. There's this father No, no Beto just calm bettos fine. He took like a wrestler and I think that considering that CNN report, they're trying to see if he catches anything. The crowds look pretty big

CHAPTER 43 / 45 Discussion

Bono, Pope Francis Meeting on Abuse

U2 frontman Bono met with Pope Francis to discuss the ongoing sexual abuse crisis within the Catholic Church. The hosts question Bono's role as a self-appointed diplomat and the lack of transparency regarding the meeting's outcomes. The segment also notes a major $27 million settlement in a Brooklyn abuse case and the potential resignation of Cardinal Donald Wuerl.

bono· pope francis· catholic church· sexual abuse· vatican

2:40:53 They look good. Might be up for something, it might be the next presidential candidate in 2020 if he can win Texas that's always amazing if you tell them the Democrats always do well with they had Lyndon Baines Johnson and Richard senator from Texas and he went right to the presidency I think shoot the president but he doing right to it hey yo how we roll in Texas yeah worse man Beto So Bono, what is he doing now? He's with the Pope and he's talking to you should be having a meeting with the Pope because he's concerned about the pedophiles.

2:41:38 I have a clip. Hold on, I just gotta stop this for a second That's some pretty outstanding... I do not like Bono. Had my clashes with Bono, think he is arrogant and just douchey. He doesn't pay taxes anywhere. Scam!

2:42:19 But a lot of people love him, but still you know Mark Zuckerberg can't call the Pope and say yo Popo Listen up. I got to come talk to you about the paydo stuff man No You can't see Zuckerberg do that Who's gonna? Do that the Bono is the only he can do that you call the Pope gates could do it Gates Oh, you're right gates could do it, but who well I mean, but but Bono's no gates It's very different kind of person He's a 60 year old guy with the earrings and shades, and he draws huge audiences. I think What's-Her-Name could do it? Yeah what's her name? Brad Pitt's ex wife. Oh Angelina. She could call. But he's like hey Angelina can come by anytime So is Bono... Is this a PR move or is he trying to... It's like an ol' Pope joke that people who just collect punchlines wouldn't recognize the joke

2:43:14 Do you think that Bono has something going on? Like an Al Sharpton type deal where, hey man I can straighten you up. I got some PR value What is he doing?! What's the point!? Well, what's the point? Is this summit? Summit. We need a summit! I just don't understand. A pedo-summit And all we get out of it...the only information we get is hey talk to the Pope about you know about the abuse thing well thanks can we have a little...can Bono do a press conference and tell us what he heard? Can someone go talk to Bono as he's in these... Do we just all assume as slaves of Gitmo Nation all is well Bono's on the case yeah okay

2:43:52 Okay, he's got priests in Ireland. It comes as more Catholic diocese in the United States are grappling with their own issues The Diocese of Brooklyn New York agreed Tuesday to pay more than 27 million dollars To four men who say they were sexually abused as boys by their religion teacher it is believed to be one of the largest settlements granted two individual victims of abuse in the church and And the Archbishop of Washington, Cardinal Donald Wuerl says he will discuss his potential resignation with Pope Francis after a Pennsylvania grand jury report said he did not do enough to deal with pedophile priests when he was in charge of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. What a mess! Where are all those people so concerned about Pizza Gate?

CHAPTER 44 / 45 Discussion

Comedians and Accents, Bill Burr and Jim Jefferies

A discussion on the trend of foreign comedians like Jim Jefferies, John Oliver, and Trevor Noah hosting American political shows highlights a perceived bias. Comedian Bill Burr's appearance on Jefferies' show is used to illustrate the hosts' theory that Americans are more receptive to criticism when delivered with a foreign accent.
