Representative Ted Lieu highlighted allegations of fraud against USIS, the contractor responsible for OPM background checks. The Department of Justice joined a lawsuit alleging USIS circumvented quality reviews to increase profits between 2008 and 2012. Despite the failures, parent company Altegrity reportedly paid $30 million in bonuses to executives before the company went bankrupt.
