FBI Informants, Pulse Nightclub Shooter's Father
New legal filings reveal that Sadiq Mateen, the father of Pulse nightclub shooter Omar Mateen, was a confidential FBI informant from 2005 to 2016. The defense for Omar's widow, Noor Salman, argues that the FBI withheld this information to avoid scrutiny of its own failure to monitor the family. Sadiq Mateen is also reportedly under investigation for illegal money transfers to Turkey and Pakistan.
