The Answer Coalition is financially supported by the Progress Unity Fund, a San Francisco-based organization run by Susan Meisenberg. Meisenberg is also a leader in the Peace and Freedom Party, which explicitly identifies with socialism and features Karl Marx on its website. Critics argue that these Marxist and socialist organizations are leveraging emotional public responses to the Middle East conflict for domestic political recruitment.
