In response to the "fake news" panic, the idea of a government-sanctioned "Ministry of Truth" or journalist licensing is discussed. As an alternative to platform-level censorship by Facebook, the creation of user-controlled browser plugins is proposed. These "trigger plugins" would allow individuals to filter out content based on their own preferences or cognitive dissonance.
