China Rare Earth Plant Explosion, Inner Mongolia and Hydrogen
A massive explosion occurred at the Baotou Baogang Rare Earth Steel Plate Factory in Inner Mongolia on January 18th. Surveillance footage showed a circular storage tank being launched dozens of meters into the air, creating a large crater and a white mushroom cloud visible for miles. The blast, which occurred during work hours, severely damaged factory buildings and shattered windows in nearby residential areas, though the event received minimal international news coverage.
