A federal bankruptcy judge in Texas has blocked the satirical outlet *The Onion* from acquiring Alex Jones's *InfoWars* platform, citing concerns over the auction process. The satirical news outlet The Onion purchased Alex Jones' InfoWars platform at a court-ordered bankruptcy auction on November 14, 2024. The sale was supported by the families of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims, to whom Jones owes over $1 billion in defamation judgments. While the intellectual property was secured by The Onion, physical production equipment and vehicles from the Austin-based studio are scheduled for a separate bidding process starting December 2.
