Iceland, Icesave Debt and International Court Threats
Icelandic citizens have once again voted in a referendum to reject paying back £2.3 billion in debt to the UK and the Netherlands following the 2008 collapse of the Icesave internet bank. Despite threats of international court action, the Icelandic government maintains that its people should not be burdened with the losses of a private bank.
