French tax authorities used artificial intelligence software developed by Google and Capgemini to identify over 20,000 undeclared private swimming pools through aerial imagery. The crackdown has already generated approximately 10 million dollars in new tax revenue, as pools increase property values and associated taxes. Officials plan to expand the use of this software nationwide to identify other undeclared home extensions, patios, and gazebos.
