Roosevelt Hotel Closure, New York Migrant Crisis
Mayor Eric Adams announced the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City will close as a migrant intake center in June 2025. The city has seen a decline in new arrivals following the implementation of 60-day stay limits and the purchase of 53,000 relocation tickets for migrants. Over 173,000 people passed through the hotel over the last two years, many from countries like Peru.
