Pet COVID-19 Transmission and Vaccine Distribution Speculation
A study from Utrecht University in the Netherlands suggests that approximately one in five domestic cats and dogs may contract COVID-19 from their owners. While the animals rarely show severe symptoms, researchers recommend that infected patients isolate themselves from their pets. There is speculation that these findings may be used as a pretext to expand vaccine distribution to the veterinary market to deplete existing pharmaceutical stockpiles.
