American Airlines has placed a firm order for 20 "Overture" supersonic jets from Boom Supersonic, with an option for 40 more. The aircraft, which will be built in Greensboro, North Carolina, is designed to fly at 1,300 mph and is expected to begin commercial flights by 2029, catering to elite travelers.
