A new study has linked popular weight loss drugs Ozempic and Wegovy to a rare form of blindness known as NAION (non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy). The condition, described as an "eye stroke," causes sudden and painless vision loss due to restricted blood flow to the optic nerve. Diabetic patients taking semaglutide were found to be four times more likely to develop the condition than those not on the medication.
