Netanyahu had suggested that the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, convinced Adolf Hitler to exterminate the Jews rather than just expel them. While Netanyahu later clarified that Hitler was responsible for the Final Solution, historical records confirm the Mufti met with Hitler in 1941 and supported Nazi efforts.
