Computer scientist Ben Zhao developed tools called Glaze and Nightshade to help artists protect their work from AI scraping. Glaze prevents style mimicry, while Nightshade "poisons" training data to make it functionally useless for AI models. The goal is to force AI companies to seek legitimate licensing deals with creators.
