Senior CDC officials Dr. Ann Shuchat and Dr. Nancy Messonnier announce their resignations from the agency. It is noted that Dr. Messonnier is the sister of former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Messonnier was among the first officials to warn of the impending pandemic in early 2020, which reportedly caused friction with the White House at the time.
