Academic Corruption, Charles Lieber and Harvard University
Charles Lieber, former chair of Harvard's Chemistry Department, was indicted for concealing his participation in the Thousand Talents program and his ties to the Wuhan Institute of Technology. Lieber allegedly received a $50,000 monthly stipend and $1.5 million to establish a lab in China while receiving U.S. federal grant money. The FBI is currently investigating over a thousand similar cases of attempted technology theft in American academia.
