About this episode

Donald Trump advisor Stephen Miller and campaign strategist Sam Clovis are signaling a permanent break with the Republican establishment as Rule 40 and state-level sore loser laws threaten to subvert the primary results. While Mitt Romney attempts to coordinate a blockade in Utah, archival footage from a 1988 Oprah Winfrey interview reveals that Trump’s core platform regarding foreign trade and military spending has remained virtually unchanged for nearly thirty years. The campaign has recently pivoted its rally atmosphere, swapping the Rolling Stones for high-energy sports anthems to maintain momentum amid increasing physical altercations between supporters and protesters.

In Brussels, Belgian authorities captured Paris terror suspect Salah Abdeslam during a violent raid in the Molenbeek district, an area described by Deutsche Welle as a hostile zone where the state has lost effective control. Simultaneously, Secretary of State John Kerry issued a formal genocide declaration against ISIS targeting Yazidis and Christians, a move coinciding with a critical congressional deadline. On the domestic front, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy faced calls for resignation from Representative Jason Chaffetz during a heated hearing on the Flint water crisis, while a Florida jury awarded Hulk Hogan a $115 million judgment against Gawker Media for privacy violations.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon raised eyebrows by appointing a character from the Angry Birds movie as an honorary ambassador for climate change at the General Assembly. In a bizarre exchange on C-SPAN, author Douglas Rushkoff fielded questions from millennials regarding the velocity of money and blockchain solution spaces that left observers questioning the coherence of modern higher education. The episode also features a recorded prank call where an IRS scammer in an Indian boiler room attempts to extort a man identifying himself as Frank Roosevelt.

South by Southwest 2016 Wrap-up, Austin Infrastructure Changes

The South by Southwest 2016 festival concludes in Austin, Texas, with reports of heavy traffic and "mayhem" during the final weekend. Observations indicate a shift in the festival's layout, with more events moving into new hotels and permanent buildings rather than temporary outdoor parking lot stages. A brief anecdote mentions Jason Calacanis reaching out for a meeting at the famous Franklin's Barbecue, highlighting the long wait times associated with the venue.

00:00 Report I saw he had no pants on. Adam Curry, John C. DeVore. At Sunday March 20th 2016 time once again for your Gitmo Nation Media Assassination episode 809-er! This is no agenda. Wallowing in the South by... Bliss! Broadcasting live from the capital of the drone star state here in FEMA Region 6. In the morning everybody, I'm Adam Curry. No South by Here from the Pacific Northwest, I'm John C. Dvorak. Actually, I wanted to say post South by bliss because it's over. It is well Not in the Pacific Northwest either today is the last day last day It was mayhem what's not over if today's the last day? Yes everyone's leaving leaving today only last night was Mayhem all the hip-hoppers were in town What a mess

00:52 There's guys on the street everywhere filming videos, you know doing... I love watching this. Did you go out and roam around? Yeah yeah! Tina and i went out to get a little uh.. You know do some little grocery shopping it was just insane It really was crazy town but its over Over over over Well so you have the summary, the wrap up The Wrap Yeah the wrap is thank god I mean, some that...that's not the rap. Actually what I will say was completely different from last year or previous years that have been here during South by comparatively little people on the street or few people

01:32 even though it was pretty crazy yesterday. We have so many new buildings and hotels and venues indoor, and comparatively less parking lots that could be rented out for you know the big companies like to put up their big blow-up things in stages on parking lots... It was pretty much all indoors this year which I think made it bearable for the inhabitants of Austin Oh, well that's a plus. I know a lot of people didn't go to the usually go there especially the nerds from some of these Silicon Valley companies and then they go right south by southwest to kick up their heels. Yeah but you know it was also odd that there were number of people who i definitely know who are in Austin um people from former companies work for me

02:22 Now, no one reached out to me. I don't know if that's good or bad. What good are you? It's good or bad. Yeah, I guess I'm Curry is a podcast who gives a crap. Yeah. Let's see what's that guy doing he can do yeah what's he doing let's see up till you never heard from him. He's podcasting man it's podcasting what a loser Oh, you know what I know that guy That's what he's always wanted to do Always wanted to be a podcaster. Yes, I always wanted to do that well good for him You want to get ahold of it while we're here give me get a beer that's through that guy no Even Jason Calacanis But he did reach out to me you didn't know yeah Hey Let's go have a great lunch with barbecue everyone wants to go to Franklin's barbecue and stand in line Yeah No

03:14 Yeah, no. My grandparents didn't fight in the Second World War for me to stand in line for food is not going to happen. Yes. No. Franklin's is popular but Jason is funny but it's not like the only good barbecue you know barbecue there's a rope it's got a wide range of characteristics and they're...it's almost like uh you know I think we talked about this once before somebody mentioned it to me says if you take that make a list with 100 greatest guitar players yeah The guy at the bottom of the list isn't really that much different than the guy on top. There's a little difference, yeah he's got more style or something going on... Or the barbeque has some coleslaw on it. It is comparable to the EOCD list of countries that are most educated

CHAPTER 02 / 31 Discussion

United Nations World Happiness Report, Denmark Ranking Critique

The United Nations World Happiness Report is criticized for its methodology, which ranks Denmark as the happiest country based on government-provided metrics rather than direct citizen surveys. Claims are made that the criteria—including free healthcare and education—ignore high tax rates and high consumption of SSRI prescription drugs in Nordic countries. The ranking system is characterized as a form of "statistical fascism" that ignores cultural factors like culinary quality.

united nations· denmark· world happiness report· ssri· fascism· taxes

04:01 Right, which by the way reminds me of the thing... It's not like people at the bottom of the list you know like the US is somewhere number 20. It's not like we're completely comatose. We're 47. Eh, 47 but the difference is small percentages it's not a huge... So the difference between that barbecue and the second best barbecue in town where there are snow lines is probably minor? Now, that reminds me of something we talked about in the last show. I just wanted to get it...I still remember it and want to get it off my chest. Yeah sure. You know this survey? The UN Survey of Happiest People Yes! The one where Denmark came out as the happiest country alive. Yeah there's a happy-happy-happy Denmark It's based on a bunch of criteria but is not based on actually asking anybody if they're happy What?!

04:51 Yeah. Well, how do they determine it? If people are... Oh if you got education system, free healthcare, cost of living, police efficiency all these things. Let me ask you in the criteria did they add in the consumption of SSRI prescription drugs? No that's not even... So wait a minute so they... That just happens to be a coincidence. a number to each of those factors like, oh you have free health care. Boom! You got a number there. You got the free school boom another number and that all adds up to making people happy when they just look at the numbers of those government provided facilities is that the idea? Yeah

05:36 This is classic, kind of fascist. Talk about fascism! Yeah United Nations fascism You are assigned a number you have this and this...you have to be happy You must be because we've determined that this is important It's not like for example it seems to me you'd be happier in France just because of the food Especially compared no offense Danes Especially compared to Denmark. Does Denmark have the brown cheese? Is that Denmark or is that Finland? I don't know what they've got, but they do not have... They're not a gourmet country like France let's say. This is an outrage! Yeah, I was thinking about it yesterday and I don't know why it came to mind. I said wait a minute how are they the happiest?

06:22 them if they're happy. That's what I was thinking about how every time I go to Denmark, they bitch a lot! They're always complaining about the taxes especially. You know what? To buy a Mercedes you gotta pay more in taxes than the car costs. Horrible. Travesty. Well this UN is off its rocker John Because, along with this happiness quotient which we now know… thank you for doing that. Gee! Mainstream but wouldn't have been that hard to just look at how they compiled the report? But when I listen to the reports on television, they all said the same. They kind of said how they would compile the report but they never actually questioned how stupid this is. Well, I can tell...I have a comparison to show you how stupid it is as a part of this happiness push. It was United Nations correct? Yes This was all in coordination apparently to celebrate The International Day Of Happiness

CHAPTER 03 / 31 Discussion

United Nations Angry Birds Climate Change Campaign

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon appointed the "Red" character from the Angry Birds movie as an Honorary Ambassador for Green to promote climate change awareness. The campaign, a joint promotion with Sony, featured actors Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, and Maya Rudolph at the UN General Assembly. Critics describe the event as a demeaning waste of resources that uses mobile game characters to lecture the public on recycling and water conservation.

ban ki-moon· angry birds· sony· climate change· united nations· jason sudeikis

07:23 Wait, they put together a report that must have cost $50,000 to compile. It's a big PDF you should see it's huge. But this is even worse. So what did they do to celebrate the International Day of Happiness along with this list of happiest countries on earth? They put together a little promotion, John. Ban Ki-moon himself the secretary general of... Mr Happy as we call him. Mr Happy! Well we're so thrilled because the UN and Sony are joining together to celebrate the International Day of Happiness. And the campaign is called Angry Birds for a Happy Planet, and it's going to inspire everyone to take action on climate change. So there is the Secretary General... Climate Change! Happy birds! There is the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon standing next to a huge

08:18 Red Angry Bird. Yeah, that's the classic one the red one Yes And the idea is to do things in the world to make people happy so angry bird changes from red to green Stay tuned here's Bunky himself as a secretary general of the United Nations I'm happy to appoint you as our honorary ambassador for green. Don't drop! Thank you! Your honorary ambassador for green, for green yes. Don't drop! Okay now... As a part of this- oh it gets better. As a part of this we have the actors who voice the birds in the movie remember? This is a- it's a joint promotion with Sony

09:07 So we have Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad and Maya Rudolph. Now this is so embarrassing! Of course these guys got paid a lot of money to do this so they're in on it. They have to do it especially Sudeikis you can tell the guy's like oh man if it wasn't for the 10 million dollars I would so not be here So they have to go up on the general stage at the General Assembly of the United Nations. You know where we had Obama, we've had... Gaddafi was there before we killed him everybody you know? The one yeah this is where you go! The marble background you know what I'm saying?! The marble background and now they're going to explain based on a script

09:46 This is mind-blowing. Based on a script, they're going to explain to the elites of the world how this works... The Angry Birds are gonna use their huge popularity to help the United Nations in their efforts to take action against climate change. Now I know climate change makes me angry you know What about you? I'm pretty furious about global warming to be honest with you. Me too! They're reading the script, right? Let's ask these guys for their help so we can calm ourselves down because i'm really angry right now. Yes really angry. Please help Red Go Green by using your social media to encourage everyone

10:25 conserve water. Bring your own reusable bag to the store. So you have to tweet these ideas, to change red angry bird to green angry bird. Plant a tree or garden. Oh let's go by I missed something very important what else can we do? We can do good things here. Yeah you could walk, yeah plant a tree or garden that's true. A whole bunch of trees, a forest if you will. You could walk, you could cycle, you could use public transportation those things help. Reduce, reuse, recycle Carry a reusable water bottle, guys. That's true? I do... A reusable water bottle! Yeah. Everybody say cheese! And now they're doing a huge selfie with the whole GN assembly in the background. Bullshit! Oh man How bad is that What a waste of money

11:16 What a waste of time and how demeaning for the whole process. That's worth it, that part! But what is the point? So is the idea to say you know be like Denmark are we going to get those things this is Denmark Denmark is a happy country be like Denmark get those memes everywhere this thing is disturbing More than a little See what we got today. We got a lot of something completely different I did it well you yeah do something completely different, please I wanted at first well now we can get into that later I'm trying to think what might be a good way to start the show besides this thing if you may have peaked I'm done

CHAPTER 04 / 31 Discussion

Donald Trump Campaign Music, Sports Anthem Update

The Donald Trump campaign reportedly updated its event music, moving away from the Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want" in favor of high-energy sports anthems. This change follows public criticism regarding the previous song's potentially insulting message to voters. The shift is viewed as an attempt to create a more "hyped" atmosphere at rallies as the primary season progresses.

donald trump· campaign music· rolling stones· sports anthems· presidential race

12:03 Oh yeah, you know I was watching the Trump speeches which he's cutting short now. But the thing was... maybe they've been listening to us because you were very critical No no but I have evidence of the contrary but okay Well okay, but you are very critical of the music selection Yes, yes. Very critical. The spinning dancer and whatever the other... Elton John spin. And at the end of the thing you can't always get what you want? Yeah. Well they've dropped finally. What?! They've dropped You Can't I don't know what's it in the beginning is like but they dropped At The End You Can't Always Get What You Want Uh-huh. And they finally come up with a ...they got one of those sports anthems so play this Trumps new theme here's how he goes out. Everybody go vote! Go Vote!

12:56 Y'all ready for this is there more on this foot Already but it's yeah cool get hyped up everybody. Yeah, that's a huge improvement over you can't always get what you want Somebody finally wake up and say hey did you realize how insulting the song is if we go out on? Yeah So, I thought you were going to go a little different there. The Curry Dvorak Consulting Group has had a lot of different pieces of advice for the presidential hopefuls and Trump really blew it and I think he also may be losing it a little just a tad?

CHAPTER 05 / 31 Discussion

Trump Protester Altercation, New York Daily News Photo Manipulation

A controversy emerged following a Trump rally where a protester wearing a Ku Klux Klan hood was punched by a black Trump supporter. Allegations are made that the New York Daily News lightened the skin tone of the supporter in published photographs to obscure the fact that he was black. Additionally, Donald Trump is criticized for a verbal slip where he mispronounced the name of the KKK during his reaction to the incident.

donald trump· new york daily news· ku klux klan· photo editing· racial narrative

13:49 He's 70, you know. So he can have senior moments Yeah but this is not a senior moment It's two clips in one This is the protester Now this was rather interesting what took place And there are some dirty tricks going on again There was a protester and the guy put on a Ku Klux Klan hood And it was like oh Trump! So Trump turns around and starts yelling at this guy Get him out, he's disgraceful He commits, Trump commits the ultimate sin and you'll hear that in a moment. My ultimate sin! And then some guy punches him as this protesters being let out now what was interesting and you may not see a lot of this on the mainstream The guy who punched the KKK so-called KKK protester out was black A black Trump supporter

14:43 So the narrative is kind of confusing now. How do we how do we do this? There was a black Trump supporter, how is that possible now if you go look at the New York Daily News Today I should have given you the link actually if you know in your daily news Of course It's the biggest Trump haters They're the ones who call him a clown when he first announced with a picture with the big red nose they're the ones who They just had Zucker was it Zuckerman who's the guy that runs that thing? He used to be on... Mortz, Mortz Zucker or something. Mortz, yeah Mortz. In your Skype window I'm sending you this link and you tell me what you see in these pictures Tell me what you see if you saw the video of this guy punching the KKK guy out did you see this No i didn't know he was on some other track

15:37 Then you may not notice what the New York Daily News has done here. But do you have that link? Are you looking at it? Protester sucker punch, blah blah... Now look at this first picture The guy in the red white and blue flag Yeah that's the protester And then the guy next to him is he's throwing that punch What's interesting Left hook Straight left They have done- The guy in the video Is twice as black as the guy in these pictures They have lightened him up in this photo. The guy who punches out the KKK protester is black, not brown. So they've lightened him up so it's just not noticeable? That is the accusation I'm putting on them yeah Well that'd be the daily news Unbelievable In fact a picture lower where he looks like he's stomping the guy Yeah which I think he did I think he did stomp

16:37 He doesn't, you know he's not yeah he's just black-ish. Now well do you look at the video and you'll see that it's it's... however it went in their production process the guy on the video is twice as dark as the guy in this and You know, they probably lightened it up. It's very easy to do and you know they do that stuff on these newspapers nowadays in fact the thing that I pushed out on Twitter was that crazy new technology where they can make you look like your saying stuff Oh yes! I saw that. Before we talk about that now here is 30 seconds of two quotes first Trump saying get this guy out

17:18 And I don't think i've seen any news reports saying it was a black Trump fan supporter who was kicking this guy. You can understand if there's a black guy and the guys you know touting KKK he may get a little angry but here is Trump making a huge mistake. There's the mistake, I cannot believe of all the people. He said Clu? Clu Klux Klan what a moron! Oh, I find that minor. I didn't even notice it Yeah but it's but I've been harping on it and here it is Trump He thinks he's cute he's a disgusting guy That is a disgusting guy Really disgusting Now wait for the evidence I believe Trump is losing it A big wheel Big wheel

CHAPTER 06 / 31 Discussion

Donald Trump 1988 Oprah Winfrey Interview Analysis

A 1988 interview between Oprah Winfrey and Donald Trump is analyzed, highlighting Trump's long-term consistency on issues of foreign trade and military spending. In the archival footage, Trump criticizes Japan for "dumping" products in U.S. markets and argues that wealthy allies like Kuwait should pay for American military protection. The segment notes that Trump's rhetoric regarding the U.S. being "ripped off" has remained virtually unchanged for nearly three decades.

donald trump· oprah winfrey· 1988· trade policy· japan· kuwait

18:14 So my daughter Ivanka, my wife Melania they say please now act a little more presidential. I said i can't until i finish my victory! Not presidential but we gotta have victory That's a man losing it That's a man losing it. He better calm down, he really better calm down. Well I mean they're throwing everything they can at him Oh man... If you have a couple things to talk about because i do have a bit of a package I want to go through so if you guys wanna say just as we do this is we've gone into it just now and we talked about this in the last post-mortem that we have the Trump dialogue has got to be minimized

18:56 on this show specifically. But meanwhile, we go right into it again It's very difficult to do I want to apologize because there are some people out there that think that we're talking about Trump too much but this is like the big news item anyway and this in the world! World leaders are calling this guy Hitler how can this not be the number one news story? Yeah so this is good stuff and its entertaining and gives us the opportunity to really deconstruct mainstream media The kind of how it's done. Yeah, it's happening live before our worded It is now I have something that may help everybody but I don't know if you saw this this isn't a recording from 1988 and this is events just went around You did do I wanted to make one comment to you because we're not good obviously people listen to the show can't see This but this is a recording of that. I know what you've got. It's the recording since 1988 the recording of Oprah yep

19:52 interviewing Trump back then. And it was when, it was during the Dukakis race I think that was he. I believe so yeah and what I found interesting wasn't Trump's so much even though as it looks like the same guys is saying exactly the same stuff. It's very funny how consistent he is but what I found fascinating was Oprah had not become Opry yet right she was...yeah good point She was this kind of nervous, demure... yeah kinda demure. Lacking self- you know the projected self confidence that she now has It was interesting to watch her because she was just a normal person! She wasn't Oprah Also an audience that was just listening and nodding and continuing there no one was freaking out about him

20:44 And of course Trump looked good back then. He was a good looking guy, clean cut. Actually even when he was in his college years I think is when he was the...I think over time has gotten more squinty but yeah that happens that happens anyway it's worth listening to not like the YouTube video description claims oh this will blow you away no But it'll blow you. No, I didn't blow me away but not slow anyone away put into context of what he's saying today It is exactly the same you took out a full-page ad in major US newspapers last year criticizing us foreign policy What would you do differently Donald? I'd make our allies forgetting about the enemies the enemies You can talk to so easily I'd make our allies pay their fair share We're a debtor nation

21:29 Something's going to happen over the next number of years with this country, because you can't keep losing 200 billion and yet we let Japan come in and dump everything right into our markets. It's not free trade! If you ever go to Japan right now and try to sell something forget about it Alpert just forget about it its almost impossible they don't have laws against that they just make it impossible They come over here. They sell their cars, their VCRs they knock the hell out of our company's CRS Hey I have tremendous respect for the Japanese people I mean you can respect somebody that's beating the hell out of you But they are beating the hell out of this country Kuwait They live like kings the poorest person in Kuwait they live like Kings and yet they're not paying we make it possible for them to sell Their oil why aren't they paying us 25% of what? They're making it's a joke this sounds like

22:12 political presidential talk to me and I know people have talked to you about whether or not you want to run would you ever? Probably not but i do get tired of seeing the country ripped apart. Why wouldn't you? I just don't think I really have the inclination to do it, I love what I'm doing, I really like it Also doesn't pay as well I probably wouldn't, but i do get tired of seeing what's happening with this country and if it got so bad. I would never want to rule out totally because I really am tired of seeing what's happening with this country how we're really making other people live like kings and were not What you think about this year presidential race? The way its shaping up Was is the Dukakis race you think? Yeah Very interesting I think that probably George Bush has an advantage

22:59 in terms of the election, I think that probably people would say he's got like that little edge in terms of the incumbency etc. But I think Jesse Jackson has done himself very proud and Michael Dukakis has done one helluva job and George Bush has done a helluva job you know they all went on their sort of semi-underdogs including George Bush and they've all come out...I think people around all three of those candidates can be very proud at the jobs they have done You said though if you did run for president you believe you'd win Well, I don't know. I think i'd win and tell you what? I wouldn't go in to lose. I've never gone into losing my life And if I did decide to do it...I think that would be inclined.. I would say that I have a hell of chance at winning because people... I don't know how your audience feels but I think people are tired seeing the United States ripped off and I can't promise everything But I can tell one thing this country will make one hell of lot money from those people for 25 years have taken advantage It won't be the way its been believe me Not much other than huh he's pretty consistent

CHAPTER 07 / 31 Discussion

Republican Party Rule 40, Sore Loser Laws

The Republican Party's "Rule 40" and state-level "sore loser laws" are examined as potential hurdles for candidates in a contested convention. Rule 40, implemented in 2012 to block Ron Paul, requires a candidate to win a majority of delegates in at least eight states to be nominated. Sore loser laws in 46 states prevent candidates who lose a primary from appearing on the general election ballot as an independent, complicating any potential third-party runs.

republican party· rule 40· sore loser laws· ron paul· contested convention

23:56 Yeah, very consistent. The guy when I saw that thing and felt the same way was like huh? But he's gonna be at the end He is so far beyond the point of no return. He has to go all out all the way Well, let's listen to some in an analysis And we're also want to mention there's a couple things in play and I will add there was a clip I didn't plan the last show I do have it lined up for today which people are unaware of because they keep talking about doing third party and all the rest of it, and play the loser law clip so people at least know this much. The primaries closed primaries that elevates and sore loser laws I mean if you lose your primary you can't run in the general election that's 46 states explain what do you mean by that? So in 46 states

24:43 If you were running against me in a primary for whatever party, you might be far more popular in the state or in the congressional district. But if I beat you—even if only 25 people showed up—you can't run in the general election." And so when you talk about democracy, we don't have one in our political system. The result of it is that people are who shows up? The more extreme, the more ideological… And then we have Rule 40, which is another little element that...which I don't have. Trying to look it up here in the background but Rule 40 is a Republican Party rule about conventions that you cannot go into a convention that's gonna be disputed. You cannot be nominated to be the president

25:35 or to be the presidential candidate, unless you have gotten X percentage of so many states. You just you're just knocked out of it and is called the rule 40 was put in place in 2012 But is that that's a federal election rule. No, no this is the Republican Party Okay, but we just need to set rules for the convention Step back for one second I still don't think international producers are understanding that all of this that you're seeing right now has nothing to do with the actual election. These so-called primaries and elections, it's theater! It's PR, its promotion

26:14 It really has nothing to do with giving the people what they want according to the rules. Yeah, there's rules involved. So they put this rule in place I think to screw one of the candidates and I can't remember which one but Ron Paul is... Yeah it was Ron Paul that did it too. They changed the rules. I think it was Ron Paul. Yeah, they changed it in 2012. Right because Ron Paul's in the news about this because he's gloating over the fact that in the back rooms as we speak, they're trying to get rid of this rule Yeah. Right now! This was the rule change they did when Boehner came out and said, uh all in favor say aye all against say nay and the nays were clearly louder and it was even in the teleprompter where he said oh the ayes have it the rule is adopted right

26:53 Right, I remember that. Yeah and they can do that. That is nothing to prompt or it has nothing to do with With the election process in United States other than what we've been trained to believe is somehow you get some choice So far this isn't had nothing to do with real elections either why this is so fascinating and we're having so much fun with it Yes These are clubs and the club can have any rule at once But some things remain the same. We had that third-party run with Ross Perot and he dropped out very quickly, gee I wonder how they're gonna work on Trump? In addition to 2016 and new this morning the Secret Service FBI and New York Police Department are investigating what sources tell CBS News is a threatening piece of mail sent to one of Donald Trump's sons The mail was sent to Eric Trump's Manhattan residence at 100 Central Park South also known as Trump Park East

CHAPTER 08 / 31 Discussion

Eric Trump Threat, Republican Establishment Strategy

The FBI and Secret Service are investigating a threatening letter containing suspicious white powder sent to Eric Trump's Manhattan residence. Simultaneously, the hacker group Anonymous claimed to have leaked Donald Trump's personal information. In the political sphere, Mitt Romney announced he would vote for Ted Cruz in the Utah primary as part of a broader "stop Trump" strategy, despite historical friction between the Mormon community and Cruz's evangelical base.

27:42 A source close to the investigation says that the letter had a Massachusetts postmark and threatened harm to Donald Trump's children if he doesn't drop out of the race. The envelope also reportedly contained suspicious white powder that preliminary tests say is not hazardous." It's an old favorite, the white powder. It's such a favorite way to do it. According to ABC they actually added more to this story I thought was kind of interesting you might want play This is not too long. ABC does an excellent job of wrapping stories with a big package, they run along but they really cover everything and they had that Llamas guy who's yelling...

28:26 Is Yamas, Yamas or the Yamas? Oh, Yamas. Yeah yeah he's always yelling yelling! So play that. Trump under attack from all sides tonight. Trump's personal information reportedly hacked the FBI now investigating a threat also sent to his son and all of this as a growing number of mainstream Republicans organized against him Mitt Romney tonight with his newest strategy ABC's Tom Yamas from Florida Tonight, Donald Trump fending off attacks from two very different forces. The Republican establishment and international hackers. Greetings citizens of the world... Oh God! The FBI and Secret Service now investigating claims that hacker group Anonymous posted Trump's social security number and cell phone information We are very serious about stopping any proposed fourth right by the fascist Donald Trump I think that is a different anonymous video than when we played

29:20 Yeah, it's interesting. It's been interesting Trump son Eric also receiving threats a letter containing suspicious white powder Delivered to his New York apartment the powder turning out to be harmless with the letter frightening I'd love to know what it was just for once Harmless harm quote if your father does not drop out of the race The next envelope won't be fake now in a closed-door meeting guys leave that out die don't know Conservative groups strategizing ways to deny Trump the nomination. And some prominent Republicans like Senator Lindsey Graham rallying around Senator Ted Cruz. I think he is a Republican conservative who I can support But it's a reluctant vote of support, listen to what Graham said about Cruz just three weeks ago If you keep Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate

30:08 What's he saying there? I can't hear. You know, here this is real disappointing pointing for...I don't know who owns the original clip because i've heard the original clip and it's very intelligible This one here is just horrible! I don't know what this is somebody picked up from their cell phone Lindsey Graham isn't on giving a speech and says if you shot Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate And held a trial in the Senate to convict you, you could not be convicted. Because they have immunity? No because everyone hates Ted Cruz in the Senate! It's actually the funniest thing that Lindsey Graham has ever said Let's see if we can listen to it then I wish I had... You know I have some where a better copy of him but I cant believe ABC couldn't get a better copy If you kill Ted Cruz on the floor of the senate

31:07 When the trial is in the Senate, nobody can convict you. Like today Mitt Romney announcing that he will caucus for Senator Ted Cruz in next week's Utah primary He's hoping enough people will vote for Cruz to deny Trump the delegates To win the nomination outright forcing a contested convention Trump firing back on Twitter posting Mitt Romney is a mixed up man who doesn't have a clue No wonder he lost The back and forth with Romney continues. Tom Yamos with us tonight, and Tom Mitt Romney says he's voting for Ted Cruz in Romney's home state of Utah not because he has been a long time Cruz supporter but because his continuing strategy here? That's right David, Romney wants to take away as many votes as he can from Donald Trump And he says that a vote for anyone other than Cruz makes it extremely likely that Trumpism will prevail David, Tom Yamos with us from Florida tonight. Tom thanks for your report There are couple things here

32:04 This Romney thing is completely out of control. He was on the Kimmel show Yeah, I saw that yeah, I couldn't get a clip because it wasn't interesting It was completely uninteresting yeah and he was a dud that he is and It just seems, you know the weirdness to it to me is that I think it's pretty well known in the Mormon community that the evangelicals of the type that Ted Cruz is which is a fanatic. Yeah Even though they don't get to see it so much but he's really worse than George Bush, George W and they tend to hate Mormons yeah with a passion yeah this real radical type yes and the Mormons are

32:49 I just don't see how you... Why would you? Something else is, there's a missing piece to this because no way that Romney is coming out of the woodwork the way he did and and he's making a huge fuss. That doesn't make any sense Maybe he's trying to fulfill the prophecy What's the prophecy? The man on the white horse Well I don't think Trump rides a white horse No baby, Romney wants to be the White Horse Don't know well. He lost before he's not gonna win again at this time I mean, he's just not I don't know what it is. I don't know strange. He has nothing better to do how about that? But let's listen to this Let's get out of its I have a couple things some waiting man. I got stuff to do

CHAPTER 09 / 31 Discussion

Sam Clovis CNN Interview, Republican Convention Threats

Trump policy advisor Sam Clovis issued a warning on CNN, stating he would leave the Republican Party forever if the convention "jimmies with the rules" to subvert the will of the voters. This follows comments from conservative activist Eric Erickson, who argued that nominating Trump would be a disaster for the party. The tension highlights a growing rift between Trump's campaign staff and the GOP establishment.

sam clovis· cnn· republican national convention· eric erickson· gop

33:31 How about news our Republican Party disarray just to give us a little because I do want to play at David Brooks clip Did you read his op-ed in The Times this morning? No, I will share the rift in the Republican Party over Donald Trump shows no signs of mending Just today former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney Announced on social media that he will vote for Senator Ted Cruz and the Utah caucuses next Tuesday Meanwhile, as Trump marches closer to the 1200-plus delegates he needs to secure the party's nomination some party operatives are scrambling for an alternative. On Thursday a group of conservative GOP activists held a closed door meeting here in Washington to discuss how to block Trump from the nomination Here is Eric Erickson who was one of the meetings organizers on Fox Business News Thursday

34:23 Republicans if they nominate Donald Trump are going to nominate the only politician in America more unpopular and less trustworthy than Hillary Clinton That's not where you start when you want to beat Hillary Clinton But that's the reality of it with them, and I'm not gonna play part of it For his part, a Trump policy advisor pushed back today with a warning for the Republican Party. Here is what Sam Clovis had to say on CNN's New Day. This guy is this guy with the big fat head. Yeah the big fat head guy. I would not want... Eric Erickson has no beauty either. I would not want this guy representing me But anyway, I think this was done on purpose. Of course it is! And this guy's...I saw him on...well listen to what he said and then tell you what I saw him on. I will tell you this if the Republican Party comes into that convention and jimmies with the rules and takes away the will of the people The will of the Republicans and Democrats in the independents who voted for Mr Trump I will take off my credentials i will leave the floor of that convention and I will leave the Republican party forever Good

35:24 And that was... Fat neck! What a douche. Complete douche, was there more on this? I don't know, is there? ...brings us to the analysis of Shields and Brooks. That is syndicated columnist Mark Shields... Brooks has a good line here David Brooks so gentlemen with that gentle note to end this week David where does the Republican contest stand? Trembling at the loss of Sam Clovis from The Ranks. Brooks wrote an op-ed in The Times no not Trump not ever And you can only guess where that went. Well here, play this NewsHour David Brooks thinks they should do it clip and this to me I was appalled by this

CHAPTER 10 / 31 Discussion

David Brooks New York Times Op-ed, Elite Disconnect

New York Times columnist David Brooks published an op-ed titled "No, Not Trump, Not Ever," where he admits to a profound disconnect between the media elite and Trump's "coalition of the dispossessed." Brooks argues that while he must change how he reports on the country, he still views Trump as a demagogic threat to American self-government. The commentary is used as an example of how pundits failed to recognize the alienation of the working class.

david brooks· new york times· trump voters· media bias· founding fathers

36:10 Trump's looking like the nominee. I mean, he had this great night He if he continues as he's been going right now when my paper reported our upshot department reported He will get that what do you need? So he's looking like He can get it there are two ways. He could not get it one maybe if casex drops out There are some polls that show of Cruz is one-on-one They could he could make some inroads into Trump and then something behind the scenes or something fiddling with the rules. I of course think they should do it, but one of the features of this year is that Donald Trump has a monopoly on audacity." Alright let me read some of his op-eds to you. In other words he says screw this guy! Hell with the public! This is a classic in this case Republican and Democrats have them too... elite! Yeah oh such an elite But what's interesting is in his column It's not the candidate I want He admits to it

37:02 He says here, so deference is being paid. Pundits are coming out with their what we can learn commentaries those commentaries are built on a hidden respect for the outcome that this is a rejection of republicanism that wasn't working in points in some other direction the question is should deference be paid to this victor? Should we bow down to the judgment of these voters well some respect is an order Trump voters are coalition of the dispossessed They have suffered lost jobs, lost wages, lost dreams. The American system is not working for them so naturally they are looking for something else." Moreover many in the media especially me did not understand how they would express their alienation we expected Trump to fizzle because we were not socially intermingled with his supporters and did not listen carefully enough For me it's a lesson that I have to change the way i do my job if I'm going to report accurately on this country

37:55 Uh, yeah. Wow! How did you miss half of the country being pissed off and being dispossessed dude? Unbelievable And so then he goes into... they fact check He's a liar, he's a liar, he's a liar, he's a liar The Republicans who coalesce around Trump are making a political error They're selling their integrity for a candidate who will probably lose About 60% of Americans disapprove of him Let's see. In his savage... Does this guy have any sense of history? No. In his savage regime, public life is just a dog-eat-dog war of all against all As the founders would have understood he is a threat to the long and glorious experiment of American self government He's precisely the kind of scapegoating promise making fear driving and deceiving demagogue they feared The Founders Oh man that's not too bad That's pretty uh

CHAPTER 11 / 31 Discussion

Stephen Miller Campaign Strategy, Hillary Clinton Barking Ad

Trump advisor Stephen Miller discusses the campaign's strategy to target blue-collar voters by hammering Hillary Clinton on her support for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). Miller highlights the success of a Trump Instagram ad featuring Clinton barking like a dog, noting that it generated millions in free media coverage. The segment also mentions Vladimir Putin's reaction to being featured in the same advertisement.

stephen miller· hillary clinton· tpp· trade· instagram· vladimir putin

39:01 Wow, that's outrageous. Now for people who think about a demagogue holy crap For people who are saying our Trump only talks to himself I was blown away it just out of the blue one of his advisors appeared with broth And this is Stephen Miller who used to work for Jeff Sessions. This guy is a professional, this is a pro insider he's been inside Washington for a long time I think Jeff Sessions who of course endorsed Trump he was his advisor or you know something important for the past seven or eight years and uh and this guy is an analyst he knows exactly what he's doing and he said something just he had a couple of fun things to say in this little bit with Brolf where they played they start off they play

39:46 the Trump ad where Hillary's barking and then they come back with the anti-Hillary barking ad, where it ends with Hillary laughing at Trump doing something silly. I can't remember exactly what it was and so they play that and here's Stephen Miller. There was a funny one yesterday with Hillary Clinton barking like a dog that was the Trump ad this is a anti-Trump bad your reaction? Well I think Hillary Clinton comes out very poorly in the ad I'm not really sure, did her campaign actually make that ad? No it was a super PAC who supports her. She has nothing to do with the super PAC but it's a pro Hillary Clinton super PAC So the guy is an analyst he says oh ok well that was dumb alright The super PAC did a very bad job with the ad because it ends with that clip of a very natural effected moment from the candidate so I think thats just strange from like a professional standards point of view That's Hilary laughing like a crazy person

40:36 Donald Trump is going to have a huge election against Hillary Clinton because the issues that Democrats depend upon, Donald Trump is gonna control. Like the trade issue he's gonna hammer Clinton on her support for the TPP, the Trans-Pacific Partnership and we're gonna bring in the blue collar voters and she's gonna end up having a very hard time connecting with. It looks like Hillary Clinton is now spending a lot more time focusing in on the possible run against Donald Trump, is the Trump campaign now spending more time focusing in on a possible run against Hillary Clinton forgetting about the other Republican challengers at least somewhat? Well job number one right now is to go ahead and get 1237 and that's where we're focused but you saw with our own ad they were giving a little sampling a little appetizer of

41:19 of how we're going to go after Hillary Clinton in the general election. And again... Well, this is good to know! That was just a sampler! Okay, a tease I'm happy now! It's gonna be huge contrast on issues like trade and immigration where were gonna side with working people and Hillary Clinton is gonna side with big business and corporations with Lindsey Graham endorsing Ted Cruz, that's really a remarkable development because it means that the people who favor offshoring, who favor foreign policy interventionism and who favor a failed legacy on trade are lining up behind Ted Cruz because they don't want anything in Washington to change.

41:57 So he's got some smart people on his side. Well that guy, definitely! He is a smart guy Now the funny thing about that Trump ad is the production cost was all they paid because they put the ad on Instagram and every news outlet played it for free It was fantastic! Two billion dollars of free media we're crazy And then even got more play because Putin came out and said he was being insulted in the ad Yeah, I have some comments on that in a moment. Which is probably bogus but has some fonts... I think it's bogus too but it got more ink for Trump Now I've been working with Brian the Gay Crusader in Chicago and he was very tuned into what's going on in Chicago and It's my belief now that I've done little bit of research into this thing This protest that was scheduled at the Trump rally Regardless of who cancelled it

CHAPTER 12 / 31 Discussion

Bill Ayers, Chicago Trump Rally Protests

Former Weather Underground founder Bill Ayers was identified as an organizer during the protests that led to the cancellation of a Donald Trump rally at the University of Illinois Chicago. Ayers is seen in footage encouraging students to oppose Trump's "organized hatred." The segment links the tactics used in the Chicago protests to 1960s-era radical activism and questions the role of organizations like MoveOn.org in coordinating the unrest.

bill ayers· chicago· university of illinois· weather underground· moveon.org

42:54 because that's now a point of contention. It could have been extremely ugly, now that I've seen this little 15 minute mini documentary called Silencing Trump Bill Ayers and the Fire from Below Now, this could be completely cherry-picked but what it looked like to me is in the afternoon and this video kind of covers the people who were there. It's moveon.org. It's a number of different SEIU sponsored organizations they were handing out free T-shirts which is in one of these little clips with a picture of Trump with Hitler on it. Free T-shirts that were given out everybody signs but most interesting was Bill Ayers himself

43:37 was a part of the organization of this rally. Maybe you can help us with the Bill Ayers background? Well, Bill Ayers is an old... I'd have to look let me look while you're doing that i'll look him up so i can get his dates right but he's a very famous troublemaker It was from the Weathermen. Wasn't it from the Weatherman? The weather underground, the weatherman... I don't know if he was actually a weather underground but he was definitely in this SDS era. A socialist something? No, the Students for Democratic Society. Oh. Socialist then! And it was kind of a front organization and he was one of these guys who designed a lot of the techniques. I think at the March on the Pentagon or anything behind that Right But he's behind a lot of the troublemaking agitator techniques

44:27 So what I'm going to do is, so what i did here is... The heirs is in the clip three or four times. So I just stuck that all together because you know who knows but I just, I want as much facts as I can get. He goes right into the 60s student protest stuff. Right? He's 71 so he's pretty old and right and he was married to Bernadine Dorne very famous agitator founded the Weather Underground Students for a day founded students for Democratic Society which was...I remember I was went one quarter to Cal State Hayward and there was a student for democratic society meeting that i went to. And this is where what college, what university? This was cal state hayward which is now cal state bay area union and it's now you...I don't know what they call it anymore but this cal state system it's the secondary system right and i was going there for summer

45:25 And actually I continued one extra quarter while I was working because i wanted to check see if I could take 18 units and work full time at the same time. And chew gum! And this was like one of my errors in judgment. And you wound up being a podcaster, wow life is unfair! My biggest error by the way, my biggest error in judgment although it turned out to work out for me was working two full-time jobs one summer and ending up with mononucleosis because... Oh man where was Bernie for free college when you needed it? Anyway, so these days are over. So he's founded that and then the Chicago Annenberg Challenge I have no idea what that is... Yeah he is a troublemaker big time. He was one of the organizers. Well yeah well he's actually now as a professor someplace. But he's in Chicago! Oh okay he's in Chicago. So he was part of uh he was part of the organizers

46:22 Stick stuck his bits together so we can get a little idea of his thinking which, of course has not changed much. You've never seen anything this big at the University of Illinois Chicago? It's huge and it's galvanized Latino students black students Muslim Students and white students And everybody feels like look there is a university We don't need kind of organized hatred to be spilling into our center The answer is to out argue it To be smarter than it to win over the people who are standing in line to go see him. To talk to them in a way that's, you know, reasonable and honest and of course I don't think it is pro-Bernie or pro-Democratic party. I do not even think its pro elections Trump has galvanized the feeling that there something loose on the land and that something is dangerous

47:11 Absolutely anti-American and it has to be opposed. Has to be opposed, we have to convince them with force if necessary. Okay You know the funny thing about the hatred thing is that people on that side of the equation Bill Airside in this case That seem to me the most vitriolic hateful Yeah I was watching one clip where some white kind of a white fat chick, so to describe her. Streeching at some guy for his wife. I have this is a part of my package coming at you baby! I'm well, man. I didn't pull it so you got it go Yeah first we go into the ditzes there's always want to interview some people who are around and ask them some questions again This could be cherry-picked but this is one girl. I think that's how it starts off cute blonde probably about five ten or not blond a brunette and she walks by the camera and you know flips the bird in the guys like hey Why are you doing that? What's going on?

CHAPTER 13 / 31 Discussion

Stop Trump Protesters, Hitler Comparisons

Interviews with protesters in Chicago reveal a lack of specific policy knowledge, with many wearing free "Trump-Hitler" t-shirts provided by organizers. Protesters expressed support for Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton while carrying phallic-shaped balloons intended to mock the Republican candidate. The segment characterizes the protest atmosphere as more of a social event than a coherent political movement.

48:09 So just in my own fuck you you can't I won't do what you tell me which of course is that lyrics to a song? I'm free within the confines of my own mind. Yeah, this is what's at college I won't do what you tell me. I'm free within the concepts of my own mind. Do you go to school here? Yeah, I'm a student. Tell me about your shirt Oh it's actually free! This is the girl who has the Trump Hitler shirt on and she got it for free Free?! Who gave it to ya? No actually somebody gave it to me for free yeah they were just handing them out. She doesn't know? no she knows she knows well she said she thinks I think someone gave it to me for free yeah she doesn't know

49:00 No. This is what we're... It was fun, everyone's out there, we were having a good time. I would have grabbed a bunch of those shirts. Oh! I would've loved to have one. Somebody gave it to me for free. Yeah they were just handing them out These are Stop Trump 2016 balloons. I think that's pretty obvious in the shape of a penis 22 inch likeness of them notice no balls there was one ball would be Hitler but they're no balls on this one People just walking by fuck Donald Trump fuck Donald Trump Understanding

49:40 Trump remind you of Hitler. Oh my god, I mean not like the whole constant like a concentration camp not to like that extent but like Pushing it out Who do you guys support? Bernie. Bernie Sanders I'm supporting Hillary Clinton. Uh, leaning towards Bernie. Bernie? Yeah. Fuck Trump and yeah go Bernie Sanders! Ah there ya go beautiful kids the fine specimens now here's what the clip your talking about so this guy is interviewing he's actually interviewing some brown girls

CHAPTER 14 / 31 Discussion

White Privilege Confrontation, University Activism

A viral video from the Chicago protests shows a female activist confronting a cameraman, demanding he "dismantle his privilege" and leave the area. The activist claims the cameraman's presence is unwelcome because he is "surrounded by privilege" while filming women of color. The hosts discuss the psychological impact of such confrontations and the difficulty of responding to "social justice" rhetoric in real-time.

50:23 And she comes over and she starts harassing him. She's like, hey go away! Almost like the university professor with you know... She was like hey go putting your hand in the camera and then the guy said what did I do wrong? Then she holds up her iPhone and funny... Yeah that's the one. It's the iPhone... Horrible person. She is frighteningly creepy I watched this clip two times and then i watched a third time with my eyes closed. And it took me back to the Obama bot dinner where I got yelled at for my white privilege, and it's triggering! It's called trigger warning so she actually brings out her iPhone 5c, a blue color

51:03 And then she starts, who are you? And blah. She's like, I'm 5C. Just to make a note of that... I couldn't help myself. He pushes the iPhone into the camera like okay but what she says and the anger and you have to see this clip it's in the show notes at 809.noagendanotes.com her eyes is just whoa scary. Okay here we go what's your name sir I wish someone could come save me right now. around videotaping women of color and acting like you can do that, and the rest of us can't. Aren't you quite aware by holding that video camera on me that you are surrounded by your privilege? Right? Take your privilege somewhere else please. All right? Because your privilege is not welcome here so unless you are her to dismantle your privilege please find somewhere else to go

52:17 Wow. Well, there's a lot of opportunities there for that guy to say stuff like dismantle my privilege? Okay I'll do that! What do you do then? How do you dismantle your privilege? Okay, I think I've done that. She was like a psycho and I don't think anybody not expecting something like this sort of... But I have seen... No exactly! You don't know what to do it's like what the fuck is wrong with this person?! It's exactly what happened to me and it was the same... When I choked, yeah. Oh hell yeah! So did that guy he just choked. He choked. I would too. Yeah you don't know what to do No it's because you don't...it's a completely new territory You have not rehearsed this. You have no idea what to say or do and so you choke but now i think everyone should probably work on thinking that you might be confronted by one of these people and you should be able to deliver some lines back What would they be?

53:20 I'd love to dismantle my privilege, tell me how. Tell me how right now! You're all over this privilege thing lady you tell me how to dismantle them tell me right now! Well here's what she would say... She would say YOU CAN'T! You just need to go away with your white privilege! You can't take it off just like a black person can't take off his skin Black people could take of you but you can't take off your white privilege I don't, that's what she should say. You're right but i don't know that anyone ever goes back at them so i think she would choke at that moment because she's not ready for that. I'm pretty sure you can confound them let me...you know this kind of thing that we talk about on the show cognitive dissonance

CHAPTER 15 / 31 Discussion

Jedidiah Brown, Revolutionary Communist Party Involvement

Jedidiah Brown, a Chicago activist who rushed the stage at the cancelled Trump rally, is identified as a candidate for 5th Ward Alderman. Footage shows Brown being removed by police while claiming to deliver a "message of hope." The segment also highlights the presence of "Revcom" (Revolutionary Communist Party USA) distributors at the event, suggesting that professional agitators were deeply involved in the rally's disruption.

54:04 It's kind of all over the place. And after you finish this little clip, I want to play a couple of examples of how it shows up in the public domain. I have a kicker from this little mini documentary which was, I thought kinda fun thing at the end. So they get this guy and he is an interesting looking guy black shades black hat on not a baseball cap but almost like a bowler and he's handing out teachers Clockwork orange? A little bit, yes! A little bit like clockwork orange. That's creepy... And the guy was handing out pamphlets and signs and I don't know if he had t-shirts and the guy says who are you? He is in there organizing a fascist mob that is ready to fight they're hungry. Whoa! The fascist mob! He's in there Trump wasn't there but he's in their organizing of fascists mob

54:58 He's not doing that. These are lies! This is what people believe, then no wonder they're responding like this. He's in there organizing a fascist mob that's ready to fight. They're hungry. Ready to fight? You were at one of these- stop stop you were at one of these events is that what you got out of it but I was not at the event organized as a fascist mob being ready to fight No, no There was not at the one I was at but this was the Chicago one where this whole demonstration was organized and I think whoever said don't Trump, don't come or if Trump talked to himself and said it, they diverted a big scene. And it seems like this was really planned and this was supposed to be the take Trump down huge remember 68 Chicago you know all of that

55:45 It's been interesting to see the cops, this is something Brian The Gay Crusader said. And we looked at video together 15-20 minutes of video and outside and cops were being assaulted their hats being slammed off and not a single person got arrested that's odd! The mayor there are two things that I got from one of the reports...the mayor told them that nobody could be arrested on that side of the equation okay and they should not wear their normal helmets Because it would be bad optics Optics yeah, right so there was nobody so they had no protective gear on. So that's why they're rollicking around all bloody They must be really pissed off. Yeah pissed off okay? Here's um let's listen to this kicker He's in there organizing a fascist mob that's ready to fight their hungry

56:35 We've got to deal with that. Are you are you with Revcom? I'm a distributor for revcom yeah Revcom it's the voice of the Revolutionary Communist Party USA It's a communist party USA, yeah Okay, it's American as apple pie Yeah And they're all for Bernie now do you remember the guy who went up on the Lee may have seen this on the lectern and when Trump wasn't there and he was yelling and shouting, and the cops are tearing him away. I remember that but i don't...I never saw a video of it just saw stills This guy's name is Jedediah Brown And he is...this does not report anywhere so he jumps up on stage He's yelling What has not reported Is that he is running for the 5th Ward Alderman in Chicago

57:32 Gee, isn't that convenient to jump up there and show your face when you're in the middle of an election? Isn't that interesting. This of course is not- Is that a good move? This, of course is not addressed on Fox Channel 2 in Chicago who cornered him. Don't even introduce him as a candidate for alderman. Jeradiah Brown A Chicago anti violence activist In the middle of violence Anti activist... Anti violence activist He's running for political seat Or position I guess Jeradiah what were you doing?! Man! That's not going down in Chicago

58:08 Yeah, but people got a right to speak and be heard. What do you mean? I utilize my freedom of speech! Yeah but even in people who disagree with it got a right to be heard and to-and to hear Well if he paid attention Trump's the one who carried out we did not stop it He postponed it before we even got say word yeah But that was rowdy so look here is the guy admit that he was writing an interview Is this God this is on Fox channel 2 in Chicago? Yeah? Oh not at all trump has had At environments where he has instructed people to leave out of route He said he wished she could smack individuals said he would pay for the legal fees of anybody who attacked it This is clearly see no. We didn't say that you can say anybody didn't say even play the legal fees Anybody they environment? You wanted to create he can handle it right there might be so but didn't you create the equal and opposite

58:59 Action? Not at all. And again, so here's the scoop and here's how it goes... I went to that rally Trying to figure out could America's withstand a stomach a hateful campaign Donald Trump being able to run a successful campaign in America in 2016 should be alarming to everybody So I wanted to see is this real or is this just what the media portray? Okay, so he just want to go and just have a look for himself would be wound up on the podium behind the lectern yelling being pulled away And man before you know that. Just wanted to see what was going on got into building. I was met with racism ignorance bigotry

59:34 uh... and a lot of hate standing in line trying to get even getting the door when i got inside it was no different on that level confrontation i'm definitely looking forward to conversation with you while you do one of our mother stage yeah Crazy to net in a barn got beat down. Yeah, I was not angry. I was passionate It's all America is all about oh it's passion now I was able to go on stage and put out a message of hope in the inner peace But I was in a hostile environment so don't misunderstand my faith let's cut away to the tape for a second people Peace? That didn't look like peace. You said it doesn't look like peace, but you can't judge a book by its cover. If you read my lips I clearly am saying America is already great without hate. I was in a hostile environment so my body language was aware of it. My body language was aware of it! Is there a way Trump welcomed people into his tent black people, people of color and create sort of an America for us

CHAPTER 16 / 31 Discussion

Elizabeth Warren, Hillary Clinton Goldman Sachs Transcripts

Senator Elizabeth Warren avoided answering direct questions on CBS regarding whether Hillary Clinton should release the transcripts of her paid speeches to Goldman Sachs. Warren's refusal to take a firm stance drew criticism from Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski. Speculation is raised that Warren is being "cagey" to negotiate a high-level position, such as Secretary of State, in a potential Clinton administration.

1:00:35 I was there because i wanted to see. First of all, im of the persuasion that its not about republican democrat. Its about american values and i was there to see if Donald Trump would say anything that will speak to me. Cast enough for this guy. You know what Im saying On the heels of this as we start to move away slowly Elizabeth Warren did an interview on CBS morning show with Charlie and Gail and the whole crew And she was very very cage-y about her answers Although I think she was probably correct in how she answered these specific questions. But Mika over there at the Morning Joe show

1:01:14 She was very disappointed. She's a big Elizabeth Warren fan and I think she, her analysis is incorrect i believe but it was an interesting moment both on the CBS morning show and the Morning Joe response But I think what's really happening here is that Elizabeth Warren might be trying to negotiate herself a very good position in whatever the Clinton administration might look like Senator Elizabeth Warren was asked yesterday about Hillary Clinton's paid speeches on Wall Street now you'd think they answered that That would be crystal clear, right? Elizabeth Warren should or Hillary... Of course. ...release the Wall Street speech! Of course she should! Yeah that's what we'd expect you agree from Elizabeth Warren yeah no why not she wants to be Secretary of State uh-huh Right?! Because that's what she said right? It's gotta be take a look Do you believe that Senator Clinton should release the transcripts of her speeches to Goldman Sachs

1:02:11 I think that our candidates are out doing what they should do in a primary. They are debating the issues and answering for themselves. What I'm doing is telling you what I think should be going on right now in this election, in this primary. It's just a yes or no question? Should she release the transcript or not? What I've told you is that I think the primaries are doing exactly what they should be doing and the candidates are being tested! Oh, Mika you must be so depressed. I think she's gonna be beat there must be something at play here That would be the worst choice Whatever your doing cause that was obviously dancing around the topic Im saying she was completely circumventing the question im not sure i would have continued with interview That was no answer There must be some negotiation underway I hope it works out really well because we need her Wait wait wait

No Agenda Episode 809 Executive Producer Donations

The hosts acknowledge top donors for Episode 809, including Robert Weed and Sir K-Town. A letter from Sandra Langston in Austin describes her work in archaeology and facial reconstruction, while a donor from Rotterdam coins the term "Socialist Media" to describe platforms like Facebook. The segment includes a replay of a CBS News clip showing children being coached to express negative opinions about Donald Trump.

1:03:02 You're right, but I don't know if it's Secretary of State. But she's clearly... Yeah that'd be the job for her. She would be horrible as Secretary of State! It would be horrible! Worse than what we've been watching with Kerry and Clinton herself? Well and I want to talk about Kerry in a moment but first It's clearly time to thank you for your courage and passion, and send you love and light. And say in the morning to you John C, when the C stands for Cal State Dvorak! You could keep your love and light I'm John C. Dvorak and i thank you for your courage and in the morning do all of you boots on the ground feet in the air subs in the water

In the morning everybody in the chat room, noagendastream.com thank you for being with us today once again for episode 809er and thank you to Sub70 comes in again with the artwork for episode 808 of course this was The Happy Countries episode and the artwork was It's oh it was the that no agenda eight zero zero eight zero dot three three megahertz chips Yeah, as a cute. 1:04:34 I have, I'm trying to get this. We got a couple of people to thank first we have a couple of people to thank Robert weed weed weed weed in New York as the top is the executive producer one of two three hundred fifty one dollars and ninety-two cents and all he says is eighty point nine quid times four to make up deficit and remove douchebag status. And he thinks, I think he's on the night list." Is he on the night list? Well, he's in blue...and he might be That's blue? Isn't it? Kind of Yes! He is on the nightlist. Let me de-douchen him first. De-douche, de-douche, de-douche. He needs a de-douchin'.

1:05:19 DD status washed. Okay, it goes from being douched to being de-douche. Thank you Robert and It's right to the top our second Executive producers sir K town in Milltown New Jersey $333 and 33 cents you really outdone yourselves this time He says he writes I find myself struggling to accurately express my thoughts on the masterpiece of That was Thursday's show! Oh, thank you. I think it was one of the top shows. I couldn't even make it to the first donation segment without repeatedly shaking my head in utter disbelief

1:06:01 The GOP official openly disregarding voters and the intent that was a good clip And the entire primary process is one thing but the CBS News models spoon-feeding anti Trump propaganda to children What the fuck is wrong with these people? That was pretty bad. We have to play that again, by the way I, because i was thinking about it and that is a great clip. You got Borderland on that one I believe. Wanna play right now? Yeah play if you've got it. The 2016 election cycle has been tough for some adults to watch these students feel the same way Are you tired of them being mean to each other? Yes! Are you tired of them talking over each other? Yes! Are you tired of them making fun of each other? Yes! Where do you think all that started

1:06:51 Donald Trump. They pay close attention to a range of issues immigration gun control terrorism Those kids are really concerned about gun control. Oh, yeah. All right. Donald Trump has... all right good that's good He says he actually felt angry and insulted by the lunacy of it all, as if these talking heads have all become disconnected from reality. David Brooks admits it in that article you read! That he's disconnected from reality because they don't care... They don't mingle, they don't go to the store, they send their people to shop for them. Anyway so they're disconnected from reality and they've actually forgotten human beings are actually capable of thinking for themselves

1:07:32 I can't help but feel as if this whole thing is going to blow up in their faces. That people will really, or will rally behind Trump just despite the overly confident GOP establishment? I think there's an element of that going on As for the Democrats, it seems that they are underestimating the momentum Bernie Sanders has with young people. My brother and most of his friends will be voting for the first time this year and they're all in for Bernie! They're also without exception anti-Hillary. They see her as a corrupt and dishonest elite... Well he nailed that one ...and will not support her should Bernie lose In fact, for them, the only choice is either Bernie Sanders or Donald Trump I agree with this assessment. I'm seeing evidence of that

1:08:17 I am also seeing evidence of it in my little group. Oh, but I want to point out for the subreddit yeah we don't know anything about millennials were idiots or morons You know i don't want to dissuade you from hanging out and negative environments It was hard, it was hard But... Well that wasn't there was a post what do you like least about the show? And that was the top gripe. Oh, there were idiots about millennials? Yeah! Oh good you're gonna love the clips I've got waiting. None of the other candidates he continues are even being considered all this makes me wonder what will actually happen if the party leadership decides to flip their supports

1:09:05 supporters of the Byrd, which they were doing and choose one of their shills as candidates. There may be a very large group of underemployed highly educated young adults with a thing or two to say about it no matter the outcome I can't wait to hear the endlessly entertaining deconstruction only that two of you can provide on The Best Podcast in the Universe! As long as you remain the guardians of reality the sanity of the public still has a chance Thank you for your courage. You make me proud to be a knight of the no agenda roundtable. How nice? Yeah, and our last... Wait wait what does he have here? He wants Trump bing-bing-bong Bernie whoa whoa whoa Hillary yipyipyip. Makes total sense. Bing-bing-bong-bong-bing-bing So why did you put out a statement that was misleading on that front? Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa! No that's not my understanding.

1:10:05 Poor lady You've got karma, there we go. Thank you very much sir K town all right That was a good note Sandra Langston in Austin Texas your town that's right 218 dollars she did send an email and let me go open it I Donated $218 this week for the first time Not enough to climb out of douchebaggery, but eventually I will. I will." I enjoyed you guys for quite some time. 218 is approximately the number of transatlantic flights I've made since living in southern Italy and Austin simultaneously since 1982. Wow! Add the early ship crossings and I probably had a Moses-like effect on that tract of water

1:10:51 The excavation of Greek tombs and reconstruction artifacts and cranial facial was my specialty. So she's a, I guess reconstructionist that does archaeology or something. Nice! Anyway she married a native in Italy and my kids were born there She goes on...she was also an artist she mentions And it does mentions a few personal things She said one of my boys is now master brewer Oh which is good I don't always agree with your theories at who would But often I do and especially enjoy all the sampled mixes made by the producers Yeah they're great Talking about what happens at the end of the show

1:12:31 I would encourage new listeners to get their daily dose of No Agenda and cut down on the mainstream media. You will then one day wake up in a different reality where you see the news media for what it really is, A big show! I have now a much better place for myself and my cat here in Rotterdam. To try to offend as many people as possible, even though I recognize Rotterdam is the modern harbor city it is with its hard-working people building it up from the rubble it was after the Second World War something is definitely rotten in Rotterdam! with workable people, I'm reading verbatim. With workable people collecting welfare sitting all day on socialist media. That's a good one! Socialist media. That's actually a good one yeah. Socialist me...I don't write that down. Socialist Media. I love it

1:13:21 Where are we? Sitting all day on socialist media, mainly face bags. Talking about how we're all going to die if we don't reduce the use of plastic just to give you one example Please give me a shot at karma A new shot of karma as I'm sure i need it in this sea of brainwashed people Luckily I found bubbles in the sea with people who see the world as I do so there's hope Thank you for your courage and sanity Greetings from Rotterdam! Yo yo You've got Karma That's $200 from always staying barefoot thank you so much Yes, and that concludes our little group of people here that helped us as executive and associate executive producers for show 809 want to thank them. And also we have some more people to thank later in the show it also reminds you to go to Dvorak org slash na so he can bring these up a little bit. We like to get at least five As opposed to two or three yeah in this category

1:14:12 And that show will be coming on Thursday of course. Javorac dot org slash N A. And that means you have four days to be running around and doing the important work of propagating our formula! Our formula is this, we hit people in the mouth. Amen. Fist bump. Hey citizens. Shut up slaves! Boys I was going to move somewhere with you about... Oh yes

CHAPTER 18 / 31 Discussion

John Kerry, ISIS Genocide Declaration

Secretary of State John Kerry officially declared that ISIS is committing genocide against Yazidis, Christians, and Shia Muslims. The timing of the declaration is questioned, as it coincided with a congressional deadline and followed reports that the White House was attempting to delay the classification. The hosts suggest the move may be a legal precursor for increased military action or a backroom deal involving the removal of Bashar al-Assad.

john kerry· isis· genocide· bashar al-assad· vladimir putin· state department

1:14:49 Kerry now I was tracking something for the past week and a half And I didn't even make clips of it because it was unclear to me what was going on in the back of my mind like no Something's happening, but then I and it was yesterday that I started put all together And I had seen a clip of Matt Lee our AP reporter at the State Department getting all huffy with Kirby about The missing of the date for the proclamation of Isis as a genocidal group. And they were supposed to deliver it on... Sorry? Yeah, no this has been yeah no you know this has been an issue. Right but here's what was odd everyone was saying hey how come the they're not you're not gonna make the deadline is tomorrow but you're already saying we're not going to make it you don't have respect for the deadline it's a Congress imposed deadline Kirby was confused didn't know what to say

1:15:48 And all of a sudden, on the 9am the day of the deadline... ...Carrie comes out does this 12 minute piece of crap. Regurgitating everything we've seen right down to burning pilots... You know decapitating every high-end video we've seen and then says clearly these guys are genocidal So then that was odd because it all reporting showed that Obama at The White House was against this classification or is trying to delay it and it's unclear whether carry

1:16:24 Did it on his own power or something else happened, which I think is the case. Well you as you recall You know Kerry has done stuff like this He's the one yes let the door open for the Russians to come in and help him get rid of those Gas canisters in Syria now. I think I know what may be happening but let's listen to the White House's response Which is really non-committal just like a few weeks I've received a number of questions about this. I know that my colleagues at the State Department and other national security agencies across the government have been asked about this. What's happening in Iraq and in Syria is deeply troubling. We do see this extremist organization targeting religious minorities, and their propaganda they're featuring evidence of trying to wipe out these religious minorities

1:17:16 and the president has talked on a number of occasions. Now listen to what he's saying, because I think this is where the clues lie about how this is deeply troubling and is an affront to every person of faith that's why the president has ordered military action against ISIL in Iraq and Syria. In some cases there have been military actions that have been ordered specifically to protect religious minorities, so there certainly is the example of Mount Sinjar which we've cited here frequently. So this goes on and on for a while... Then he's saying, oh well the other day he was trying to get the people on Mount Sinjar and you know it's all these genocidal moves they're making. And I've looked up the importance of classifying any group as genocidal and there's only two reasons this could be happening or

1:18:04 One, there's some international criminal court claim coming saying you attacked without reason and this would be a rebuttal saying hold on these guys are committing genocide. Because when you say someone is committing genocide, a response is warranted usually from the international community and that's where I think this is really going in the coincidence between this declaration and the rapid pullout of Russia must be related Must be related. It's my thing well I think we've mentioned that the rapid pullout of Russia is still not fully explained mm-hmm And it doesn't make any sense unless the idea was I mean this just one possibility, I thought about this Exists were perhaps the Russians rushed in and started bombing left and right? And the whole idea was just to shore up their base area there port yeah that they own and use now and and set up a

1:19:05 a perimeter around and make sure that thing was secure, and to pretty much stop all activity by bombing the crap out of everything so nobody can really move around much. And then once they were... They felt they were secure there, they put in some anti-aircraft missiles and some other things up. They could get out of there but I think getting out of there with that analysis at all So i don't know what's going on personally somebody should have said something It appears to me that this genocidal categorization will make room for what now seems to be a backroom deal between Putin and either Kerry or the White House, or both... ...to replace Bashar al-Assad with somebody else.

1:19:47 So that may come with some violence, that may come you know something...something's gonna happen this you know everyone's like oh well You know we just need to nothing it's not a big deal. We just mean to label them as you know committing genocide yeah I think that means you're doing something and big and Thinking is Putin got out before or is a part of it hmm Well, something's definitely fishy about this whole thing. And the initialization of this you might be right about if it just carries shooting his mouth off which he tends to do and then the Obama administration doesn't want to be part of the pronouncement of genocide because then they had I think there was responsibilities involved and they don't want to take part in any actual work? I don't know! It's up for debate

CHAPTER 19 / 31 Discussion

Salah Abdeslam Capture, Brussels Terror Raid

Salah Abdeslam, the primary surviving suspect from the November Paris terror attacks, was captured alive during a massive police raid in the Molenbeek neighborhood of Brussels. Abdeslam was wounded in the leg during the shootout after evading authorities for four months. The report notes that he was hiding in plain sight near his family home, raising questions about the level of local support he received while in hiding.

1:20:43 The coincidence is just too close for me, but everything I'm reading there was definitely a pushback from the White House on doing this. And then Kerry... and Kerry was going to miss it! He said, I'm not gonna make it we're not gonna make this our assessment won't be done and then boom all of a sudden it's done with no clear explanation. I got interesting, I followed the The capture of the last man alive from the Paris event. Yes, yeah I saw it too and they have a rundown of it Terrorist Capture ABC long rap if you want to play this brings everything up to speed again ABC does these long packages that are quite informative without a lot but there's after we play that

1:21:33 very interesting element that cropped up on Deutsche Welle. Good evening and we begin tonight with the breaking news, the dramatic shootout in tonight one of the most wanted men after the terror attacks in Paris now captured alive a massive show of force in Brussels Belgium and then this A series of explosions and then smoke, several arrests including the man believed to be at the center of a four-month manhunt across Europe. And it turns out he was right in the neighborhood they began searching from the start Salah Abdeslam, cornered just yards from his family's home wounded but alive tonight and authorities now plan to grill him. ABC's Alex Marquardt on the scene in Brussels with the take down and this question tonight who was helping him to hide right there where authorities had been for months? Tonight gunshots ringing out as heavily armed SWAT teams moved in

1:22:24 Residents running for cover as one of the world's most wanted men is cornered on this Brussels street. Salah Abdeslam, believed to be the man in the hooded sweatshirt dragged off the pavement by police shot in the leg you can see him limping they force them into the car The special forces training their guns on nearby buildings looking for possible accomplices As an ambulance whisks Abdeslam away to hospital Wow, what is that siren? Yeah? I so yeah there it's plating back in a planet again. It's the it's a it's It's a new siren sound that's in and around Europe all right. It's very spooky sounding Let me see where is it here here we go now what oh we got a problem Houston What's going on uh-oh? Oh

1:23:17 Would you do a rest? No, no. Nothing's responding hold on what's going on here okay well anyway yeah I've heard that and i think it's probably part of the package because if you listen carefully they have that crazy spooky sound then they push a button or something switches over to more normalized European style siren but I'm sure somebody Somebody who sells sirens has dreamed up this new sound is dynamite part of a part of what you were probably hearing is the Doppler effect No, that's not a Doppler his newest strategy ABC's Tom Yamas from Florida

1:23:53 Tonight Donald Trump fending off attacks from two very different forces the Republican establishment is this I'm sorry, but it's completely wrong club clip Something Donald Trump caught in Brussels. That was the name of this clip again. It was the ABC News rap Uh, yeah. No ABC News. Oh no that's not it. That's the mistake I just made. That's a mistake you just made. Oh terrorist capture okay hold on a second...I'm sorry I'm not quite sure exactly what happened. Including the man believed to be at the center of a four-month manhunt across Europe and it turns out he was right in the neighborhood they began searching from the start Salah Abdeslam cornered just yards from his family's home wounded but alive tonight and authorities now planned to grill him ABC's Alex Marquardt on the scene in Brussels with The Takedown and this question tonight

1:24:49 Who was helping him to hide right there where authorities had been for months? Tonight gunshots ringing out as heavily armed SWAT teams moved in. Residents running for cover as one of the world's most wanted men is cornered on this Brussels street. Salah Abdeslam, believed to be the man in the hooded sweatshirt dragged off the pavement by police shot in the leg you can see him limping because they force them into the car The special forces training their guns on near... The report I saw he had no pants on No, he had... it looks like pants on but they were dragging him. He wasn't limping That was a different guy who had no pants on than the arrested him yesterday. Nearby buildings looking for possible accomplices as an ambulance whisks Abislam away to the hospital There it is! Now in custody guarded by masked men The 26 year old Abislam was the only survivor Oh man I've been nailed it

1:25:45 I nailed it, I nailed it. Now in custody guarded by masked men the 26 year old Abdi Salam was the only survivor of the group of terrorists who carried out the highly coordinated deadly Paris attacks that claimed 130 lives a French citizen raised in Belgium he rented the car that drove a team of suicide bombers to the soccer stadium A match between Germany and France was underway, interrupted by those powerful blasts. Abdeslam also rented the car that dropped off the ISIS gunman at the Bataclan theater where an American rock band was performing freezing in fear as shots rang out

1:26:24 There's so much that they know while in the middle of this raid. We know this guy's fingerprints were in Paris, we know he drove... all this stuff we know suddenly is very uh... You can actually stop that clip I need to say something about this guy Let's go to another clip, which is Deutsche Welle's clip. And I want to comment on what we hear in this particular clip and how it actually applies to our election and some other factors that people have been in denial about play this clip. This was again a long...this was taken from a longer clip of Deutsche Welle.

1:27:00 describing the same situation of capturing this guy in Brussels. But this is a little an aside and this is the Brussels report no-go zone clip. Police had pushed back the press Of course, the inhabitants who were curious to see what was happening. And they were throwing bottles at them so the police would sort of make volleys with their dogs and come out and chase them away. And you could feel the hostility. So, the police don't get much help there if they're really after people. Nobody talks in that area. It seems that the Belgian services don't really know who lives there, who is connected to whom, who does what?

CHAPTER 20 / 31 Discussion

Molenbeek No-Go Zones, European Police Hostility

Reports from Deutsche Welle describe the Molenbeek district of Brussels as a "warren" where police face extreme hostility and residents throw bottles at emergency workers. The capture of Salah Abdeslam highlights the existence of "no-go zones" in Europe where the state has lost effective control. Additionally, reports surface claiming Abdeslam was a frequent visitor to gay bars in Brussels, complicating the narrative of his radicalization.

1:27:39 There are rental contracts running on names of people that can't really be traced back, and so on and so forth. It's a warren. And the police have really been trying hard to find Abdeslam. They've done nothing else pretty much since November. They feel a bit better now that they have managed to do it. However, in the end there are still other people out there. The network seems to be rather larger than everybody had thought in the beginning." Uh-huh! Okay now here's a couple things we're talking about this little area and she calls it a warren which I thought was acute usage and Which is you know bunch of rabbit holes. A den? I guess...a rabbit warren. Yeah well a bunch of dens endless tunnels

1:28:25 And they were throwing bottles at the police as they were in to get this guy. This is one of those things that Trump mentioned once and other people talk about these no-go zones Yes, it's in the UK It's in the UK London has them the UK has them uh... this is obviously one they don't know who even lives there and we're in talking about it the police state of the e u and everybody's you know despite upon but they don't know who are who these people are they were living right now middle of it i find this to be just outrageous and if indy finally pull this guy has been there for four months nobody said said anything which means half that community there's probably involved in some sort of plotting

1:29:09 Here's the weird thing. They're getting it back by throwing the bottles at the cops Oh, this happens all over Europe now Anyone who is coming to help some but people are so angry Any rescue workers or emergency services have to have police protection They're coming to save somebody who was beat up in a bar Uprolls the ambulance and whatever then people start throwing shit at them It's insanity This Salah Abdeslam, here's the problem. This guy is gay and well known to be at gay bars in Brussels... this makes no sense! How does an openly gay guy get to be so involved in ISIS terror plot? I have no idea. The Independent. Independence are pretty good publication aren't they from UK? Yeah that's okay. Here's their headline

1:30:09 What's the headline? I'm going to read it to you. Salah Abdeslam, who is the gay ISIS fighter who fled the Paris attacks and they have a interesting little rundown on him Yes and let's ask the question if the ISIS folks are throwing gays off of buildings so we'll see if they bounce And how is this guy in ISIS at all? I don't know these are questions that I have But you are correct about Brussels and this area, Molenbeek. When I lived in Belgium in Antwerp we'd see this on television all the time now we're talking 2004 that 50% of Brussels is Muslim! The most popular baby names Mohammed... it goes on and on and completely undocumented not completely but many undocumented or poorly documented and there were some men on the street interviews with this area

1:31:10 French or Flemish, and the Flemish I can understand pretty well. And people are saying yeah it's kind of crazy we really don't know what's going on in our neighborhood This is not acceptable. It's not viable, more importantly it's not viable they can't allow this to continue and that means they're gonna let us fester and make you know in disguise probably part of this problem They're gonna end up having to kill a bunch of people or level the place with bulldozers You never know how this is going to end but its not going to end well No, it's a huge problem. A problem you're not allowed to talk about still in Europe You're not allowed to talk about it For going on 16 years this has been happening Yeah, you can't talk about it That's the thing that is really upsetting It's nuts because your racist And they are trying to pull that stunt in this country In fact that's what the whole political correctness thing is leading too and that's what your seeing with this woman screeching at that guy about his white privilege yeah, you're surrounded in it

CHAPTER 21 / 31 Discussion

EU-Turkey Migrant Deal, Cyprus Reunification

The European Union and Turkey finalized a controversial deal to stem the flow of migrants into Europe, involving a "one-in, one-out" swap of Syrian refugees. Turkey is set to receive 6 billion euros and fast-tracked EU membership talks in exchange for taking back illegal migrants from Greece. However, analysts suggest the deal is legally fragile and faces significant opposition from Cyprus, which remains divided and has historically blocked Turkish accession.

recep tayyip erdogan· turkey· european union· migrants· cyprus· angela merkel

1:32:15 Well, exasperating the situation is the deal that was struck yesterday between the EU and Turkey. And it's so convoluted that it has to start working today... Do you mind if I set it up? I'm sure yes. I like to hear what you've come up with because I ended up just coincidentally finding a guy this... You know that guy like Herbert whatever his name is on France 24? when they have him as a foreign correspondent, he always gets to the bottom of things. Well Deutsche Ville has a guy similar to that and he actually got to the bottom of this Turkey deal I think... Oh good! Good good good! To the point where you go- You think oh well whatever we were told is not actually true Okay good i'll set it up and then which clip is that? The one you want to play? That promises a very long clip but it's so interesting No no that's good

1:33:09 The best migration rap Max Hoffman is the guy all right, but I'm gonna go first to a report This is just before that the so-called deal was struck Erdogan kicking it up in Turkey as turkey's prime minister meets EU leaders in Brussels There is fighting talk from the country's president fighting tall talk, fighting talk. Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned EU leaders to consider their own record on migrants before trying to tell Ankara what to do his country will only listen to external criticism on its rights record when the comments are justified he says The bombs we've had in Ankara could easily go off in Brussels. Supporters of the PKK are allowed to demonstrate outside the summit venue. The EU member states are behaving recklessly, it's as though they're dancing in a minefield." That guy sounds like a dictator doesn't he? No I was gonna say the same thing. Erdogan and actually his prime minister too... They scream- they sound like Hitler

1:34:13 They're not casually talking, they are screeching and the hands punching in the air. This is the guy that I'm worried about. They're dancing in a minefield. Observers have taken this as an apparent reference to the Kurdistan Workers Party militant group. A PKK offshoot has claimed responsibility for two suicide bombings in Ankara in the last month that have claimed the lives of 66 people. Erdogan's pledged to amend Turkey's terrorism legislation following the latest attacks. Yeah, you won't be able to say terrorism is good so freedom of speech being quelled there and or squashed The second setup before we get into your clip is

1:34:52 This was yesterday, as the deal is sealed but no one's really quite sure how it works or what are we doing. The ink is still drying on a controversial EU accord to stop Europe's migrant flow But on the Greek island of Idomeni where some 10 000 migrants are stuck in limbo the refugees and aid agencies are calling the deal immoral Under the plan Ankara would take back all migrants and refugees who have illegally crossed Turkey into Europe even Syrians fleeing war. In exchange, Turkey is rewarded with money and fast-track talks for EU membership. Lucy Kerrigan is with the International Rescue Committee. The deal is only going to lead to more disorder, more lack of dignity, more chaos for the people who are already here in Greece and the idea that

1:35:42 You can base resettlement on conditions that people are returning from Greece to Turkey is unethical and it will only ensure that desperate people will only seek more desperate ways to come to Europe. Proponents of the deal say it will close the main route by which a million migrants entered Europe in just the past year, and thousands of Syrian migrants will still be taken directly from Turkey But deep doubts remain over the accord. Even its architects aren't sure if the plan is entirely legal or even doable." So, the idea is they start sending people back and for every person that goes back they need to take a Syrian in return

1:36:25 You can only imagine if you've made this journey, you wind up in the camp and everyone's mud and dirt nasty. And then I don't even know how they're going to start sending them back. You will be sent back, you go to the bottom of the list And I got a document here from Sub-70 who's in Syria, one of our big producers. He says, I got this document issued by the Lebanese General Directorate of Public Security dated March 8th regarding Syrian passengers all airlines operating at the airport should adhere to the following not to transfer any Syrian passengers coming to Lebanon if it's found that they had left Turkey to Europe illegally under penalty of returning the Syrian passengers on the plane they came in so but if you are sent back

1:37:09 and you then want to go to Lebanon, if it turns out that you escaped Turkey illegally... ...then you will no longer be allowed to enter Lebanon. I'm sure this is going to happen in all the other states Jordan will do this so it's a double whammy for these people Well, the thing that was controversial to a lot of the news sources is the fast-tracking Turkey into the EU membership and giving them visas. Which is odd as we've discussed because this is on track to happen anyway but they want it to happen sooner Yeah, it turns out at least from this guy's perspective that this is all nonsense because there are too many roadblocks to both of those things. That are tricks that were built into this agreement. The agreement actually may push it back further than they would have gotten if they hadn't done this agreement thing All the Turks are getting out of this which is nothing to sneeze at Is just a lot of money Yes 6 billion euros again in addition

1:38:09 But let's listen to this so we get at least a sense of what might really be going on here and not to be too freaked out about it. Well, there are some that consider the EU to be the loser just because they weren't able to control the migrant situation by themselves and had to strike this deal with Turkey with shady civil liberties record as many claim. But if you look really only at their agreement then you can say a

1:39:04 All that the leader said is as soon as Turkey fulfills all the benchmarks, more than 70 there by the way. Then they're ready for it so this might be sooner or later and as for EU accession talks, the only chapter they are opening is a rather harmless one, Chapter 33 that deals with the EU budget So it didn't have to give too much there except for a lot of money, but if this really does work in the end so if we really are capable are able to transform illegal migration into legal migration Then it would be a success for the European Union. But that's far from certain How insane is it John? That you take someone comes to your country your union and says help and then you say okay back you go

1:39:50 And you're deporting someone to a country that is not their own country. This is legally so complicated! Lots of countries within the EU voiced skepticism about this deal, Cyprus and France weren't keen on closer ties with Turkey lots of EU states are just not keen on taking migrants in how have they been squared to get this unanimous deal? Well, you know the skepticism about the visa deal was there all along but the decision to allow Turkey To have these a free travel was taken long before at a different summit. They just wanted to do it in fall So now they said okay We're going to look at this faster And like I said if the benchmarks are fulfilled then Turkey will have the possibility to have it earlier so that's really not a big deal because the decision had already been taken Cyprus was a bigger problem

1:40:40 of course huge conflict with Turkey and they always wanted to block the EU accession talks, and they only allowed this one chapter to be open because Cyprus cannot block that one. Ah yes, Cyprus is a problem in this now. Yes, and Cyprus can block and they've been blocking but apparently budget thing they can't do anything about that. But then he mentioned something else that I don't think we're aware of, which is a reunification of Cyprus which is underway. Yeah, we did discuss that briefly but there's a while ago... For everything else they continue to block it but there is some suspicion unconfirmed that this might also have something to do with a possible reunification of Cyprus which of course the island is divided and the German Chancellor did confirm that they talked about

1:41:32 that a lot. Well, they inserted a statement into that—into the paper we saw earlier today saying that they wanted to be in full compliance with international law and they were also going to work together with the United Nations to assure that. So on paper it looks fine but a lot of human rights organizations say it's gonna be very very difficult to do that because the time frames they have are are

1:42:19 And we'll just have to see how this actually plays out in real life. For now, we have the words, we have the paper. We've had that many times before in this migration crisis of course in different settings but many times it just didn't work out on the ground and why should it be different this time? A lot of people still are skeptical That's often in Brussels, thank you. I was looking at a draft...I don't think this is the final while we're talking there's some draft that has come out but it doesn't mention and there's no mention of the money paid but this repatriation process is lengthy so I'll have more on that hopefully a final document by Thursday with these new additions they were talking about

CHAPTER 22 / 31 Discussion

Nancy Pelosi, St. Patrick's Day Immigration Comments

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi used a St. Patrick's Day event to advocate for comprehensive immigration reform, citing 50,000 "undocumented" Irish immigrants in the U.S. who cannot return home for funerals. Pelosi compared the plight of Irish immigrants to that of "Dreamers" and criticized Republican proposals for a religious test. The hosts point out that Pelosi's use of the term "not fully documented" is a euphemism for illegal residency.

nancy pelosi· st. patrick's day· irish immigrants· dreamers· immigration reform

1:42:59 Well, maybe the whole thing will fall apart like he says happened before. But it's so interesting to hear this discussion about immigration versus the United States' discussion about immigration. In fact I have kind of funny clip just to show you how delusional our politicians are Nancy Pelosi about US immigration And she had a little, of course Donald Trump Republicans everyone's shit. We hate everybody they hate people they hate people of brown colors everybody hated him. Today however speaking at the court House Republicans continue to push their radical anti-immigrant agenda

1:43:38 before the Supreme Court. House Republicans have brought forward a resolution authorizing the Speaker to file an anti-immigrant amicus brief with the Supreme Court, but they won't tell the House or the American people what they are planning to say in it." Will Republicans yet again call for tearing apart families and deporting dreamers? Will they yet again suggest a religious test for prospective immigrants? Hold on a second. I don't think a religious test has ever been implemented, but okay Nancy! Well they asked the court to explore ending... She's doing this she's pulling that trick where she says, will they ask for? Will they ask to have their nuts cut off? Will they asked to come in and then have to give blowjobs or will they just bull crap. She's just making this stuff up as she goes along. Will they ask like well you will you ask whether the you know you should give it. They had to come up with $1 million again. Will they ask and I love will they ask Willie as were these come from political speak too confused people

1:44:39 About the horrible Republicans. Religious test for prospective immigrants But wait for her problem Well they asked the court to explore ending birthright American citizenship Sadly there's not much difference between Donald Trump and House Republicans when it comes to a record of appalling anti-immigrant statements Appalling An agenda of discrimination Now listen to her example, and listen to our explanation It's ironic that they're filing—they're having this vote on St Patrick's Day Last night, we had a celebration of the Irish-American heritage. While I do not have Irish grandparents, I do have Irish grandchildren and one of them was there at the dinner and talked about immigration—the rest that Tishak talked about, Prime Minister of Ireland talked about immigration when he was here at this speaker's lunch. So what it is all about it all the Irish who are here, 50,000 who were here who can't even go home for family funeral

1:45:36 Now, she says all of the 50,000 Irish who are here who can't even go home for a funeral. And why can't they go home for a funeral? It's all the Irish who are here, if there is 50,000 who were here who couldn't even go home for family funerals because the law would not allow them to come back into the country. Why can't they come back into the country Nancy? They're not here. uh, shall we say fully documented and we need to... You mean they're here illegally not fully documented. Wow! Not fully yes when you're here illegally and you leave if you want to come back in you may trip an alarm

1:46:17 go home for a family funeral because the law would not allow them to come back into the country. They are not here, shall we say fully documented and we need to change the law comprehensive immigration reform. There it is. Fee Shock has asked for that over and over again yeah they're not here fully documented That's what the immigration reforms all about letting people stay Yeah. Let him overstay their visa! I got a lot of comments from people who said, I was not entirely correct on the exit process in the US. Indeed as you pointed out there are some crossovers with airlines particularly if you leave and come back in and you overstayed the first time that is when you may get caught but it definitely is not the same as other countries where they were actual border patrol doing the exit process which is the only comprehensive ref and the pricing... And by the way get away from Department of Homeland Security that's the problem

1:47:18 You need to get the policing part. Just get that away." These guys are horrible, they do not improve the... My daughter! Do you remember when she lost two passports and they put her on the shit list? Now for three years in a row she has to go to the embassy pay 200 euros, she gets a one-year passport. She says well when can I get my 10 year passport again? No we're not ready for it yet, we don't trust you because she lost her passport. One was stolen one was lost. That's Department of Homeland Security for ya American citizen born in America. Yeah, it's terrible And let's go to something I picked up just casually this writer Kind of talking about the internet and that you know is one of these guys who decided to get on this Douglas Rush cost free well-known writer and he's got some book out about

CHAPTER 23 / 31 Discussion

Douglas Rushkoff, Millennial Incoherence on C-SPAN

Footage from a Douglas Rushkoff book talk on C-SPAN features millennial audience members asking convoluted, jargon-heavy questions. One questioner attempts to link the "velocity of money" to community economies, while another asks about "virtuous global solution spaces" and "blockchain possibilities" without mentioning Bitcoin. The hosts use these clips to argue that modern higher education has failed to teach students how to formulate coherent arguments.

douglas rushkoff· c-span· millennials· blockchain· velocity of money· cognitive dissonance

1:48:13 of the internet or, you know, future or something. I'm not sure. But he drew a huge millennial audience asking the questions because they need to know what's going on and I listened to these questions... By the way, I've also heard this in an earlier clip but I've heard Bernie do this where you talk about something and your yakking about it gong mask cars out there by the way and You know the ocean their thing is bad. Is that what are you talking about? That's exactly what I mean Okay, you got me. What are you saying?

1:48:52 this sort of chat where you're just throwing in random stuff. Right. And Bernie, I had a clip...I'm going to have to track this clip down. I had it and lost it where Bernie's yacking away and he throws in just the little phrase in the middle nowhere that has nothing to do with what he is talking about! So let's listen to Millennials. They've got the question-and-answer part. I've got three clips because they are so good. The guy's name again? This is Douglas Rushkoff. He's giving a speech on C-SPAN Book TV, and so we have two people coming up to ask questions and I want you...I'm gonna start with this nonsense question one. I want you to try to tell me after this question is asked or maybe you could try to answer this question? You began with the argument that velocity of money

1:49:42 superior. You articulated a bunch of ways in which community-based solutions can develop real goods that are both economic and social and moral, and all those sorts of things but at some point along the way you noted oh then you still are gonna have your iPhone that got made here and there and so I'm really curious about where is the division between this community-based economy, this prioritization of the velocity of money. And what are the things that either must or ought remain in a more industrialized society? Yeah... What did...? What was the question?! I don't understand the question! Is that like outrageous? Must or ought and at the very beginning he throws just throws a word in This is a millennial

1:50:33 And they can't formulate simple questions and they intermix, and this is something I think needs more study. They intermixed commentary with speeches with pet peeves with the question and then the question is confusing and they throw buzzwords in velocity of money what's that got to do with anything? What is the... Stop! What is the velocity of money? I've heard this as a buzz phrase and let's look it up All right. See what it says. Velocity of money can refer to the income velocity of money, which is the frequency at which the average unit of currency is used to purchase new domestically produced goods and services within a given time period. In other words, It is the number of times one dollar is spent to buy goods and services per unit of time. Wow! So what's that got do with the question? I have no idea

1:51:27 Well, it's a nonsense question whatever it is. Let's go to the next guy! Okay good This is a nonsense ques- uh wait hold on this is nonsense question topper Oh, Topper. All right. Question about the global conversation... Conversation? Are there like for example Wikipedia or sort of decentralized opportunities where the global aspect of it allows for certain virtues that I think fit with what you're talking about? I'm just wondering how we sort of differentiate between those two does that make sense? No!

1:52:06 In fact, Rushko says no. No? I'm gonna hear that again what the hell did this guy say let me listen to him again. Question about the global conversation are there... What global conversation? The! Oh god this guy's horrible isn't he? The I mean like for example Wikipedia or sort of decentralized opportunities where the global aspect of it allows for certain virtues that i think fit with what you're talking about. I'm just wondering how we sort of differentiate between those two, does that make sense?

1:52:45 The guy says no, so he goes into part two of the... He reiterates the same question. So we're gonna hear the same guy after Rushkoff was even too confused to say anything and he tries to answer the second when he does it again let's play part 2 and you'll see he is elaborating on this whatever that question was okay how we differentiate between some of the global opportunities that allow us to

1:53:21 first find the niche out there of all the weird people that we want for that small, but also be able to have the encyclopedia that can beat out the Microsoft Encyclopedia because we've got The Whole World or blockchain possibilities. I don't mean Bitcoin but the possibility... blockchain possibilities Wow Who what this is this a millennial in school, or is there someone not in school? I can't tell because they have their back. This is this is the education you're paying 100 grand for ladies and gentlemen right here block chain opportunity it because we've got the whole world or You know or blockchain possibilities. I don't mean Bitcoin but possibility of global voting and things of that nature

1:54:10 New World Order, hire! And also a conversation about nation states are probably not going to be the solution to most of our major climate problems. We're gonna have some kind of global coalition or initiative I'm just wondering where you see the virtuous possibilities. I completely see where you're coming with the local and I completely agree But I'm just wondering if we're where you leave the solution space for the virtuous global I say this solution space yeah hold on one second John Just let me listen to ya commit suicide Listen to that, but this is crazy

1:54:51 This is cognitive dissonance which the millennials suffer from, many of them. And this is these examples just to listen to these two people... It's just throwing buzzwords out! They don't- it's incoherent! A blockchain opportunity not talking about Bitcoin? Okay anyone who knows even I know this is a completely nutso statement that somehow as part of the world and global voting and yeah you know this has not worked in the history of the world Turns out people don't like each other. This is true, yeah it's sad well one thing we the takeaway for me John is the velocity of money The take away! Oops I think global voting and global warming Global voting global warming blockchain not Bitcoin hey! I'm gonna show my support by donating to No Agenda imagine all the people who could do that oh yeah that'd be fab On no agenda

CHAPTER 24 / 31 Discussion

No Agenda Peerage, Knighting Ceremony

The hosts conduct a knighting ceremony for donors who contributed "weird numbers" like $70 or $80.09. Sir Beardmaster General is promoted to Baronet, and several new knights are inducted into the No Agenda Roundtable. The segment includes the traditional "Hookers and Blow" style credits and a reminder for listeners to support the show's value-for-value model.

I don't think we do anything enough apparently Well going by their low number of donors today that we probably need to remind them more Just a reminder You can listen this program as for free for as long as you want, but you have to do anything just ask yourself Did you receive any value from it? Was it

CHAPTER 25 / 31 Discussion

IRS Phone Scam, Frank Roosevelt Prank Call

One of the hosts records a phone call with an IRS scammer operating out of a boiler room in India. Using the alias "Frank Roosevelt," the host engages the scammer, who claims there are "numerical miscalculations" in his tax returns and threatens legal action unless a settlement is paid. The scammer's inability to follow his own script and the background noise of the call center are highlighted as red flags for this common fraudulent scheme.

irs scam· prank call· india· boiler room· frank roosevelt· identity theft

2:04:14 So, luckily we don't have to deal with ratings. Thank goodness! So did you get clip C? I did. It looks pretty long Yeah, so you can play as long as you want. So I got the scam call finally. I teased this on my Twitter Oh, I didn't know about this okay what's going on? I teased this Cool cool So i got to scam call and luckily it was great because sometimes you get a scam call and You wanna record but the way you can record legally Generally speaking in California, since there's all these rules about wiretaps. If you put it on a speakerphone then there is no... and you record from the speaker phone so just record the speakerphone conversation. So luckily this call came in which I couldn't record in time saying that I was being audited by IRS and going to be arrested

2:05:05 I'm gonna be arrested and i better call this number right away. This is the scam that we talked about on the show a couple weeks ago? Yeah, it's great! All righty... And so it's out of India or something they got the cheapest lines Wait now was this you talking to the scammer? Yeah! Ah dynamite So I called-I called the number I put my recorder on and recorded the call and here's how it went. This call may be recorded for security Thank you for calling the Internal Revenue Service. Yeah, I got a phone call that said to call you. You received a phone call on the same number you're calling from? Yeah! Okay may i have your first and last name? Yeah Frank Roosevelt Hello

2:05:53 Yeah, Frank...Frank Roosevelt. This is- this takes me back to the day of the Jerky Boys. Yeah! Totally. Fabulous! Okay Mr. Roosevelt may I have your zip code please? Yeah 9 4 7 07 Okay Mr. Roosevelt ummm I believe that earlier- Mr. Roosevelt what a fine administration you put together back in the day I believe that earlier when you received the phone call we were trying to ascertain your attorney's information as there are legal allegations on your name and a lawsuit has also been filed by the Internal Revenue Service. So, are you aware about the case? No! I never heard of it until now Okay sir can you grab a piece of paper and pen with you Yeah hold on one second okay go ahead

2:06:48 Alright, first of all note down your case number. Okay It is 202 Uh-huh IR11 Okay And also note down my badge ID Oh! Badge ID? Ooh My badge ID Yeah what is it? It's 712 What? 712 Did he say Vag ID or badge ID? It was a little unclear. Just 712031 I'm sorry, 712... 031... 031...712031 Yes, that is correct Okay

2:07:39 I love the boiler room in the background Boiler room and this guy's long pauses in the boiler who comes to the volume comes up. Yeah, this is like some compresses Shitty compression it's just sucking in soot sucking in all the background Okay what else Now, once you've completed the auditing role in the bank... Listen to me very carefully. Recently an audit program was conducted on your tax returns for the taxes that you have filed in between the years of 2009-2013 I believe that you do file your taxes every year right? Yes I do

2:08:26 The auditors calculated your tax returns on the basis of your financial institutions and sources of income. Now they came to know that there are numerical miscalculations on your tax returns." Oh, numerical miscalculations! Are you worried at this point? Are you really...are you sweating it? "...the taxes that you have filed are not matching with the actual records we have under Yes, so at this point of time...

2:09:09 And he thinks that because apparently, because I did a little research before i called this operation. People hang up constantly so they're hanging up in the middle of everything and it's getting time to get time. I would have been gone when you said hello! So when I had...so when I did the research Found that a lot that these guys on their side would hang up on The caller a lot when they started grilling them or saying anything a little off-base, right? I just hang up and go to the next person. So I had to be careful that they didn't hang up on me Curiously by the time this was done if you do I know we're gonna get that far in this thing I'm kind of liking it. I have to say well at the very end the guy hangs up on me

2:09:51 He hung up on me when I don't and it didn't blow it. Let's listen to it, okay? Go I want to hear could you also give us the number everyone in the chat room wants to call their friend their new Indian friend I will get a number let's call them yeah, I have the numbers we should all call hello This is Frank Roosevelt Frank Rosa calling back coming back You look up the number. What did he say? About a house in Washington, D.C.? What did he say? He said that they're going to file their complaint in 45 minutes. Oh no!

2:10:41 But before we do that, we have to ask you a few questions as well. My first question would be that have you done this miscalculations by any intention to defraud the Internal Revenue Service or not? Indentured service is what I heard. I don't know if that's all John's probably getting the number no No, I'm sorry you of course not Wait I gotta ask John what he said yeah? Did you have any indentured servants or something no listen to that again? That was pretty weird Oh original revenue sir no here we go

2:11:38 Intention to defraud the Internal Revenue Service. Oh, intention to inform the Revenue Service? Defraud the Internal Revenue Service or not. Oh intentionally trying to defraud them! No! Oh my god! Hell yeah! He said did you intentionally try to defraud the Internal Revenue Service is that what he said?! Yeah! I thought that was crazy! Oh sorry no i'm sorry you of course not Alright, so you have not done this miscalculations by any intention right? No it would make no sense why would I do that. What was the number what... How much do i owe can I just pay it At this point of time Mr. Roosevelt there is an outstanding tax liability of $2411 still pending on your name

2:12:29 Now if you have not done this miscalculations by any intention then according to the federal courthouse there are two options available with you. Oh here we go does it involve your credit card at any point John? Curiously, well take care of this matter would like me to go through them yes please all right according to Federal Courthouse Option number one states that if you think that there is nothing wrong with your tax returns, if you have enough evidence to prove these things then you can hire a criminal... hello? Yeah go ahead. You can hire a criminal lawyer or something? Is that what he's saying? Yeah! Your line is breaking. It's a very poor line and I'm surprised that the IRS has such a crappy phone line

2:15:00 Well, Mr. Oswald this is the Audit and Commission Department so what else can you expect? I'm very sorry for that So not an issue option number two states that if you are looking forward not to have any legal actions To be taken on your name then you can go for a settlement outside the courthouse between you and the Internal Revenue Service Oh good What option would you choose? I think the settlements probably cheaper Which option do you choose Think the settlement is cheaper Yes, I can pay that easy okay the chat room is guessing $500 so far it may be more or less we'll find out Can I just let me just write a check to the IRS no Hello

2:17:00 And so he's fumbling around looking for his what is it called jump cuts? What does that thing called skip logic skip logic He's looking around for the skip logic and you know skipping to the thing You can't find it in time, and they just cut him off or they could heat. They kind of oh he came up I have no idea but I got the number people can call it all right well hold on first you deserve this We put a lot of effort into this show. No kidding, so uh... Actually what I did before I made the call...I figured out the name and it was going to be Frank David Roosevelt FDR. And I created a social security number, which they never asked for. Which really stunned me. 646333... get it? 1115 But i never used it and didn't have to because he never asked for it but if I was one of the jokers out there who were gonna call this you could say your Frank Delano or Frank Roosevelt calling back because they hung up on you

Seems unlikely on my sonic dot net connection with all free calls And by the way one thing I did before I called

CHAPTER 26 / 31 Discussion

Military Appropriations, Army and Marine Readiness

General Daniel Allen and General John Paxton testify before the Armed Forces Appropriations Committee regarding military readiness and budget shortfalls. General Allen expresses discomfort with the "trajectory of the drawdown," while General Paxton uses the term "bench strength" to describe the lack of surge capacity in the Marine Corps. The hosts criticize the use of sports jargon and the Pentagon's inability to account for trillions of dollars in spending.

ash carter· general daniel allen· general john paxton· pentagon· budget· marines

2:19:25 Was you I? Cleansed your back turned off call caller ID. Oh, yeah very good very good turn that off just in case fun I like it I'm gonna do that too, but I'm gonna grab one of those guys to I'm on the list and get getting calls Well you were watching book TV mr.. Dvorak. I was watching the appropriations committee for the armed forces This is where they all go in and ask for money, or more money. We're up to almost $600 billion dollars There's a whole Ash Carter thing that I'm still dissecting for Thursday show But we got the two statements from the guys who of course count we have General Daniel Allen? Allen? Allen? Allen! General Dan- Daniel Allen And he's from the army of course Let's see do we think he has enough money can you continue to go will it work? Can i guess? Yeah

2:20:21 He doesn't have enough money. We are absolutely committed to delivering trained and ready forces in support of our combatant commanders, that is job one for us. And for the United States Army we delivered 91% of what our combatant commanders asked for in terms of known requirements for this past year That sounds good, 91%, that's an A in many schools across the country. But that 9% gap is unacceptable to a combatant commander and we recognize that In addition to that, the Army has delivered 64% of the emerging requirements

2:20:59 that came out during this past year of their total requirements. So 64% of what they asked for, that was unpredicted at the beginning of the year we delivered and of course The problem with that is that came out of our surge capacity build so while we're trying to generate surge capacity for contingencies We must continue to answer the emerging requirements that are validated by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the Secretary of Defense And the end result of that is I do not have a level of comfort that we are ready for a contingency of a major scale against our peer adversaries. Therefore, I am very uncomfortable with the trajectory of our drawdown right now and I believe it's time for strategic review of is that what is best for our nation?

2:21:55 Couching around a little bit, but it's clear we can't get to 100%. This is not American way. Let's talk to the Marines General John Paxton We do all of that at the expense of our bench strength. We have tonight forces which are ready Bench Strength? I don't know what that is bench strength Yeah, I know what it is It's a basketball reference Oh And what does it mean? It means you got your teams on that. You got five guys out there playing then you get guys on the bench is gonna come in Oh, that's your bench strut what you have on the bench I get it Yeah, and they can be crap they can be crummy They can need to be good as a bench strength As a quick aside he brought up basketball

2:22:34 Last night is like what news is on and then all of a sudden something about March Madness comes on and Tina goes Oh turn it up. I'm like what? What so guess what so she participated in the pool at her work oh, yeah Yeah, and right of course she has brackets as she knows nothing about sports well She does but she's just I don't know I just filled in some stuff Though I guess there was some weird loss. There was some upset yeah, big big weird. Yes It was a Michigan State Tina had called it She's winning in the pool. Yeah Oh that data wipe everybody out this call about bracket buster one team like that That should nobody in their right mind would pick against them Tina the bracket Buster Send me your brackets

2:23:27 the the surge capability to fight an operations plan against a known adversary where we're banking that have good indications and warning adequate lift in right time. So I worry about the capability and the capacity to win in a major fight somewhere else right now, we need adequate lift. Wow should fire that guy Yeah, it should fire all of us if the bench strength give me a break talk English I know this jargon jargon jargon

2:24:17 Just jargon. Hey, you know what to one of these congressmen then none of them have the guts to say anything bad about the military But one of them is just to say one simple thing Well, you know we I think when you find more money for you if we audit the Pentagon There's probably a lot of we've already lost over trillion dollars or something is just missing No, no they're talking seven eight trillions and eight trillion Yeah, eight trillion yeah, I know it's got a budget of six hundred million Billion. Yeah, 600 billion it's hard to fathom and they don't even know where the money is going It's outrageous! It's unacceptable That right there is the reason why Donald Trump can't become president These guys Right there That's gonna be THE problem with Donald Trump Where all the money is just follow that

2:25:05 Even though it would improve everything just getting the corruption get rid of the corruptions corruption Yeah, and carelessness you know if you got a check for example Just some because there's some careless stupid reason I check in the mail You gotta check in the mail for my own oak two hundred fifty thousand dollars from them some From the Pentagon and it said you know consulting services. Oh lovely Yeah, it just showed up in your box. You didn't do anything you didn't check it anywhere What would you do with that? Check the hookers and all about demand to take take it back hookers and blow right off the bat Before I even cashed it. I'm just gonna think oh good. That's what's going on. Let's go now boom yeah

CHAPTER 27 / 31 Discussion

Germany Energiewende, Nuclear Power Lawsuits

German nuclear energy companies are suing the government following Chancellor Angela Merkel's decision to phase out nuclear power by 2022. Critics, including former advisor Gertrude Höhler, argue the policy is "pure ideology," as Germany continues to import nuclear-generated electricity from neighboring France. The segment notes the irony of Germany abandoning its own nuclear infrastructure while remaining dependent on foreign reactors just across the border.

angela merkel· germany· energiewende· nuclear power· fukushima· rt

2:25:49 I found a really good deconstruction of...on RT, which kind of makes sense. Of the book something you brought to the show couple episodes ago about Germany and the Energiewende and the lawsuits now pending against the German government and Angela Merkel from the nuclear power plants who were forced to shut down. And what I like about this RT report is they go back and they have a little clip of the original announcement by Merkel when she said, hey this and they have nicely translated. And I looked in translation is very accurate. And then of course we go into

2:26:27 what this means and what is happening right now in Germany. We will abandon nuclear power completely, step by step until the end of 2022. And this path is a big challenge for Germany but above all it means huge opportunities for future generations as a country we think that we can become pioneers on the way to create an age of renewable energies." Since then the German nuclear companies have seen their profits collapse

2:27:10 Germany has increased its use of so-called green energy such as wind and solar. But despite the country calling a halt to nuclear energy production, it continues to buy and use it from other countries like France. We're gonna get a former politician, cool lady. She's retired but she has this gray long hair and you know it just all...she looks dynamite really interesting lady to look at and she calls out Merkel the way it's correctly I think. Continues to buy and use it from other countries like France Gertrude Höhler the former advisor to German Chancellor Helmut Kohl sees

2:27:53 sees controversy behind such a policy. nuclear energy from our neighbors. Neighbors? No, for us it is too dangerous to have those companies on our ground but some kilometers from that the French nuclear companies would have the same problem when they are in an accident

2:28:36 As if it were on our ground. It is ideology what she makes." Yes, it is ideology! So you know... Funny odd irony to this nuke thing they're doing there Is that if any country should be running and operating nukes It would seem to me to be the Germans Yeah yeah but its ideology And as the report correctly pointed out right after Fukushima But shutting it all down And a thought occurred to me, this deal that they have and of course mainly the Germans are heavily involved in the Turkey-EU deal. What? Is there any way... So anyone who comes over gets sent back then you take one that's registered. There is nothing as far I can tell in this deal that would stop Turkey from letting a whole bunch of people go just let them go! Just have a continuous stream of crap do you know what I mean? Yeah, I don't know what's going to happen

CHAPTER 28 / 31 Discussion

Faisal Mohammed, UC Merced Stabbing Investigation

The FBI concluded that Faisal Mohammed, the student who carried out a stabbing rampage at UC Merced in November, was inspired by ISIS propaganda found online. Mohammed stabbed four people before being killed by campus police. The hosts discuss how the use of knives in terror attacks is becoming more common among "self-radicalized" individuals and note that the story received relatively little mainstream media attention.

faisal mohammed· uc merced· isis· fbi· self-radicalization· stabbing

2:29:38 Mm-hmm. Anyway, is that it for the nukes? Yeah, that's what I have something else Unreported. Strange, I don't know why. A California student who went on a stabbing rampage on his college campus was inspired by ISIS The FBI says Faisal Mohammed appeared to be self-radicalized motivated from terrorist propaganda that he found where else? Online They say he acted alone when he stabbed four people during the November attack Mohammed was killed by campus police after the rampage This does not fit the narrative This is not good...a knife?!

2:30:15 Yeah, well this knife thing has become... we talked about in a recent show the stabbing replacing shooting. In the millennials' description of their complaints whenever you know I'm gonna stab that guy. Right right right. I think they'll stab Trump instead of shoot him. So he probably was really radical self-radicalized But he, the FBI either screwed up or didn't get to him in time and didn't get him you know the weapons. Yeah they weren't paying attention. I'm gonna read it under the radar. I gotta start stabbing people with that. I gotta read the complaints see if they were setting them up or not just odd Well was there a complain cause they killed him Oh i guess there won't be a complaint then will there? No there wont' be anything You wont be able to find out anything Aw thats sucks! yeah totally

CHAPTER 29 / 31 Discussion

Hulk Hogan v. Gawker, Privacy Verdict

Hulk Hogan won a $115 million judgment against Gawker Media for violating his privacy by publishing a sex tape. Gawker's defense argued the video was "newsworthy" under the First Amendment, but the jury sided with Hogan. The verdict is seen as a major blow to tabloid journalism and Gawker founder Nick Denton, with the hosts comparing Gawker's reckless approach to the more legally cautious TMZ.

hulk hogan· gawker media· nick denton· privacy· first amendment· tmz

2:31:06 Not really tech news, I'll just slide it in as kind of tech news because i really like that this happened for the people in question. For... In general! I thought it was a very something very good that happened but it totally falls under the category And now, back to Real News. Now Hogan sued Gawker Media for $100 million after they posted a video in 2012 of him having sex with a woman. Hogan argued it was a violation of his privacy and today his lawyers called the verdict a victory for privacy This is not only his victory today but also anyone else who's been victimized by tabloid journalism

2:31:44 Gawker's lawyers had attempted to prove that the video was protected under the First Amendment and that it was a newsworthy commentary on celebrity sex videos. Gawker's founder has said they intend to appeal the case. A hundred million dollars? I love that, screw those guys! Gawker. Hey, Gawker... Yeah, they took it too far It's interesting that that turned out. That way we'll see how Everyone wants to kind of like fashion themselves at some point and gawkers like one of them after TMZ Exactly, and they don't realize it that get Levin character the guy who runs it He's like a heavy-duty attorney that knows what he's doing And so far as not what you can do get away with without getting your ass sued I didn't know that didn't know he was an attorney

2:32:29 Yeah, in fact he's on one. I think he's on the People's Court. I think it is where you got to start on television really He's the guy at the end on The People's Court show with not Judge Judy which is more popular But this other woman who took over from judge Wapner? Uh-huh uh he's at the end asking these questions that and then sometimes discussing legal issues As to what why this case should have gone this way or that way Hmm. He's like a you know just the guy They start like that he's not like the TMZ guys is like some other guy Right who knows how to roll with this stuff and make good decisions hmm yeah apparently mmm-hmm Well screw those guys at Gawker anyway anything else? Yeah, I got one more. This is the last thing It's back

CHAPTER 30 / 31 Discussion

Flint Water Crisis, Gina McCarthy EPA Testimony

EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy faced intense questioning from Representative Jason Chaffetz regarding the agency's delayed response to the Flint, Michigan water crisis. Chaffetz accused McCarthy of failing to take action for nearly a year after the EPA was first alerted to lead contamination. The segment highlights McCarthy's defensive testimony and Chaffetz's demand for her resignation over the agency's "condoned cheating" on water monitoring rules.

flint· michigan· gina mccarthy· epa· jason chaffetz· lead poisoning

2:34:14 Yeah, the state of Detroit... Michigan as a state is bankrupt and mainly kind of a cascade effect because of Detroit going bankrupt. I don't know if Michigan's technically bankrupt but Detroit is and they have to deal with all these little towns around Detroit and the whole thing is a mess in there was this little town called Flint, Michigan and it is one of the, we used to be a big factory town and now it's just a depressed mess. And they had to put I think as part of the bankruptcy project, they put a special prosecutor...not a prosecutor. A special administrator in charge of the little town and the guy about a year or two ago decided to, in their way to save money switch the water supply from A to B. And B just turns out to be the polluted Flint River and it's filled with lead and all kinds of horrible things

2:35:12 And so over a year or so, the people who started getting lead poisoning from the drinking water and it became a big scandal as it is now. They didn't know who to blame. So they're blaming the governor because he's part...and I blame him too. I think he's partly responsible but the EPA got hammered by this because they didn't do anything. The EPA's, you know so involved in global warming they can't really do their job. I watched a lot of the testimony and it really wasn't clippable because it was just guys yelling all the time. I think Chaffetz Chafee Chaffetz, our buddy from Utah. Yeah? Goes after the administrator and I think this was the best clip in this and this woman who took over the EPA from that arrogant other woman And she's just kind of Irish looking Gina McCarthy Gina McCarthy very Irish and she starts off by as he starting to berate her She's looking around and like rolling her eyes and then he spots that and tells

2:36:13 Slam stop and she gets very contrite, and then he rips into her This is a very good clip in February is when you first arrived on the scene And it wasn't until January of the next year that she actually did something. That's the fundamental problem Don't look around like your mystified. That's what happened Miguel del Toro showed up in February You didn't take action you didn't and you could have pulled that switch. We consistently took action from that point forward, consistently There are a lot of people in this audience who reflect nobody believes that you took action You had those levers there Mark Edwards from Virginia Tech bless his heart no just listen for a second had the opportunity they have said things like we failed to get EPA to take lead in water risks seriously it's possible be another quote of is

2:36:59 And this is possible because the EPA has effectively condoned cheating on the lead and copper rule, monitoring since 2006. He read your op-ed that you put out that was one of the most offensive things I could possibly imagine and he says about you EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy that effectively absolved the EPA of any wrongdoing or any role in creating the Flint debt disaster. If you want to do the courageous thing like you said Susan Hedman did, then you too should resign. Resign! She did not respond to that. I saw it. I saw it. She had a sad look on her face though Yeah she did have a sad look on her face well sad because children are poisoned

CHAPTER 31 / 31 Discussion

The show concludes with a brief mention of the Golden State Warriors' rare seventh loss of the season and a discussion of "March Madness" basketball brackets. The final segments feature a montage of show catchphrases and sound bites.
